Stopped at Outlaw Grille for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon and luckily found a table inside their air conditioned den. This is an order at the register then find your table establishment. Much of the menu was tempting, but we settled on the Rowdy Reuben with sweet potato fries and the Rajun Cajun with seasoned fries. There's a nice variety of canned and bottled sodas in the fridge next to the checkout, so we snagged the local sumac berries strawberry and peaches & cream Navajo Fizz sodas. These quenched our thirst without being too sweet or carbonated, and it was difficult to not drink more than one. Our order came out fairly quickly, in about 15 minutes, and was piping hot and fresh. Both sandwiches and fries were great and included fairly large portion sizes. The Rajun Cajun featured an impressive amount of thin cut avocado slices and bacon, although I really did not taste the Cajun seasoning. My favorites were the crispy sweet potato fries and Reuben sandwich with homemade sauerkraut. Be sure to request some of Outlaw Grille's homemade ranch to go along with it if you're a fries + ranch person. Upon visiting Sedona for the first time, we noticed that photos of food didn't seem that impressive despite prices being impressive. Outlaw Grille served as an exception. You order at the window, take a number, and seat yourself in a small shopping complex. While there's the option to sit inside a small/air-conditioned room, there's also shaded patio seating and seating in the hallway of the connected small shopping building, where most of the tables are. It's completely shaded but open to outside air. After ordering the The Morning After burger (Fried Egg, Bacon, Cheddar, Fresh Jalapenos) + small Seasoned Fries (for 1-2 people), we waited about 15 minutes for the food to be brought to our table. They were kind enough to cut the burger in half and provide an egg for each half, since they knew we were sharing!! Indeed, 1 burger and 1 small fry is enough to feed 2 people. As expected, the burger was juicy, flavorful, and the egg was perfectly fried to still be runny. Outlaw Grille is a small burger joint packed with big flavors. Outlaw Grille is one of my favorite stops in Sedona, especially after a long hike when your body is asking for a refuel. The Morning After burger is my go-to, and it hits every time. The egg was cooked perfectly, the spice level had just enough kick without turning lunch into a personal challenge. The silkiness of the egg is one of my favorite additions to any burger.  I've also had the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches in the past, and I'd recommend both. This place knows its way around meat without making it complicated. The sweet potato fries are another win crispy, hot, and not doing that sad limp fry thing that ruins everyone's afternoon. Overall, this is a staple Sedona burger stop for me. If you're coming off the trails and want something satisfying, this is the move. It can get very busy in the afternoon on the weekend, so just be aware that the wait can vary. read more

Yum, this place is bomb when it comes to BBQ! Located in Uptown, but off the main road, we parked in a small adjacent public parking lot. It's a casual eatery with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but make sure to plan your visit as they have limited hours and will run out of popular items fast. Hours are 11am-5pm, and when we arrived around 4pm ish, they were out of potato salad and coleslaw. Ordered: 1/2 rack pork ribs- about 6 ribs, slightly chewy on the outside, but tender and fall of the bone at the same time, and doused in their sweet tangy BBQ sauce. The Stud burger- yum! Delicious burger with 3 large onion rings, bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce , and special bun. We chose their sweet potato fries instead of regular and omg they were some of the best we have ever had so far. Highly addictive. House salad- we shared the more than generous fresh green salad with home made croutons. You can tell their thousand island dressing was home made as well. What I'll remember about this place is the service! The owner or the guy working in the window was so attentive and friendly. It was obvious that they were backed up about a 30 minute wait in the kitchen, but he was out front. He even brought out our appetizers first so that we had something to eat while we waited for our burger. He brought it to our table, checked in with us, and then we were able to feed our face with a delicious burger, fries, and fried pickles. We were that hungry so we split a stud burger which was Cheddar cheese, Bacon, BBQ sauce, topped with an Onion Ring. He even offered to cut it in half for us without even asking. The barbecue sauce was more on the sweeter side, which I didn't love, but it was still delicious and the service definitely made up for it. This restaurant is located in the main part of town. Exactly the bite we needed! We went into town post-hike to grab some food and souvenirs before we headed back to the Valley, and I wanted to re-try Outlaw Grille in uptown. It's situated in the heart of uptown, with outdoor seating only! You order at the window and then they come serve you at your table. Service was friendly and quick - I appreciated the swiftness, considering this was our first meal after a long hike in the sun. Both meals - baby back ribs (half rack) and the burger - were great choices! They were savory, juicy, and the sides complimented perfectly. My friends and I recently stopped by after hiking and exploring downtown. My friends ordered the outlaw classic with cheese and the beef brisket burger. They absolutely loved their burgers and noted that they were pretty large so they had some leftovers for dinner. We also got two orders of the dill darts and I absolutely loved those. Really great place to enjoy real food and the staff is friendly. They let me know upfront it will take about 20 mins or so, which was no problem. It's a nice little place you walk up to and order from a simple menu and they bring the food out to you. I enjoyed my late lunch on Sunday and ordered the slim burger and potato salad. Very tasty. I had the brisket sandwich and ignored the bread. Brisket was super fatty but melt in your mouth tender and delicious. I just ate mine with a side of fresh nice coleslaw. My daughter had the pulled pork and sweet potato fries. I tasted her pork - delicious and very moist. Not over smoked, just right. Each sandwich was near $18 with the sides extra. Visited Sedona on a busy weekend. Customer service was great, though there was a bit of a wait. Outside seating was warm, and while they had an indoor sit-down area, the airflow and AC weren't very strong so it felt a little stuffy. I did notice that the windows, lights, and floor areas could use a bit more cleaning and upkeep. That said, the shaded outdoor seating with fans was much cooler and more comfortable, and there's also an option for tables with partial sun and shade. Overall, the experience was really good. After a deep dive into Sedona burger menus, we landed on Outlaw Grille--and I'm glad we did. We raced over around 4:30pm (they close at 5), placed our order at the window, and grabbed a table in the section with AC (most tables are outside but shaded). For such a low-key setup, the food came out seriously impressive. The sweet potato fries were some of the best we had all trip--crispy, not greasy, and perfectly seasoned. My brother-in-law declared his burger a top-10 contender (though he gave it a pinch of salt to really bring it home). Only downside? I wish they stayed open later. Wifey ordered a brisket sandwich and I ordered their Morning After breakfast burger which came with a fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, and grilled jalapeños. We also ordered onions rings. Some of the best pulled pork I have ever had. My daughter had one too and she killed it! The boy does just burgers and fries and he not only ate it all, he wanted to come back the next day. The avocado was generous - Outlaw 1/2 lb Patty with choose my own cheese (pepper jack in this case). Added mushrooms and grilled onion: 2/5. Everything again needed seasoning. Big portion. I ended up taking half of it home. - price wise this is a good price for the area. Still more than I would like to pay in terms of flavor, but that's Sedona. There is an approximately $1.50 credit card fee - Worth it if you can get a seat in the air conditioning portion that is right across from where you order -The Palo Verde shuttle can take you from parking lot five to in front of the restaurant for free. Service fantastic but the "award winning " rack of ribs is really the most let down set of food you can ever order. The ribs are horrific... they overcooked it and it is harder to eat than cardboard. They burgers are like actually decent but the ribs really ruined the whole meal with just hope inedible they are. Would not recommend you getting it ever. As a couple, we ordered a burger (many to choose from) and sweet potato fries, large enough to serve two adults, plus 2 sweet teas for under $25. If you want ribs, plan on arriving before 11:30 as they sell out early. Great $$ for food and one of the more reasonably priced food places in Sedona.
