The outlook is by far my favorite bar in louisville.its a local type atmosphere you know everyone.their are 50 different bartenders theres 5 so you can get to know them well.the drinks are amazing and will knock you on your butt if your not careful.....they also have the coldest rumple in town..so what gets better than that:)great place to watch any type of sports with the huge tv's..and the music is a different kind of music that i played off of the bartenders ipod.i love this bar! read more

I went here with about 6 of my friends for a birthday celebration. 4 people behind the beer and 6 customers already drinking before we walked in. 4 of my friends stayed outside to smoke. The blonde bartender acted like we just ruined her whole night. When I asked her for a lemon drop she made a "ugh" noise. My friend John had asked if we could get the stuff to play pool after about 30 minutes of being there and she said "I don't have time for this" and walked to the opposite side of the bar to flirt with some dude. Our drinks took more than 20 minutes to be made (we did not order at the same time) so we told her she may need a new profession and left. None of us will be going back. read more

Pretty solid dive bar. Decent selection on drinks, decent price. Good crowd. Girlfriend had wine, I had bottled and draft beers.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on this place. Honestly, I don't get it. I've been here so many times and never had a problem. I've never seen anyone hopped up on steroids picking fights with patrons or encountered the owner being belligerent. I love this place. The drinks are stiff and inexpensive, the crowd is subdued and casual, everyone seems to mind their own business, the jukebox is great, the pool tables are clean, there is a nice outdoor area, I could go on and on. If you've been here once and had a bad experience, give it another shot. Maybe you just happened to be there on a bad night. read more

This by far is the best bar in the entire world. I just wish we had one here in Los Angeles. Upon entering the bar I was quickly greeted by the doorman Mike who asked me for my I.D. He was very nice and cracked a few jokes with me as I entered the bar. Wes was the first bartender to greet me. His southern charm and hospitality made me feel at home. I asked what was good and he said the bloody mary was the specialty there. He made me one and for a brief moment I felt as If I were in heaven. I was soon Greeted by the other bar tenders dave and megan who struck up a conversation with me and made me feel at home. The place was real clean and smelled pleasant unlike other dive bars. Derby night 2016, I get off work and bring my tiny dog to meet up with some friends after our shift. We decided on the Outlook, and headed there. My puppy and I were greeted with open arms from about every patron, but the staff were very apprehensive. The door guy let us in on the stipulation that we get a drink and go outside, immediately. As soon as I approach the bar to order said drink, each bar tender and waitress (the notorious blonde everyone's raving about here and a Brunette) made it very clear that no dogs were allowed. As I ordered, the blonde bartender told me to get out, I said I would after I got my drink, to which she said there were people in front of me-there was no one in front of me -.-. They begrudgingly gave my drink and I responded poorly, yet appropriately, by not tipping. As I was working on a note that was going to say "rethink your dog policy", I was rudely interrupted by a patron who proceeded to physically assault me. Yes I do tip, generously, I've bartended and served before. But I would never tip, nor expect to be tipped, by anyone if I acted in a manner that was rude and made customers feel unwelcome. 100% the case. I leave the bar and my fight or flight response kicked in. I didn't want to start anything, but the mere fact a patron was willing to put their hands on me ruined my experience at the Outlook. I couldn't help but start to shake outside as I rejoined my coworkers. I finished my drink in an expedient manner and promptly left for Nach Bar where I wouldn't be berated for having a puppy with me. In conclusion, the door man was very nice and let me hold my dog and get a drink. The bartenders were brash and unprofessional likewise with the owner, who was chilling at the bar drinking. Outlook Inn is a good place to go to get drunk, as long as you don't get that female bartender with the Fleur-de-Lis tattoo on her arm...She's a stingy bitch when making drinks. Other than her, it's a great place...A good mix of people, there are pool tables, video games, and a jukebox that has some really good music. The drinks are cheap, and if someone other than her makes them, relatively strong. I would give this place 5/5 stars, but she still works there so I can only (in good conscience) give it 3/5 stars. I used to live in Louisville. I always enjoyed my time at the Outlook. The juke box was excellent and from the bloody Mary's to the Falls City beer, I always had a great time. Looking forward to knocking back a few beers again sometime in the near future. Had some of the best times I'll never remember there. read more
