5 for the CFS, 2 for everything else. The chicken fried steak (CFS) is the third best I've had and that's saying a lot. Definitely the best you'll find in the state and everything a chicken fried steak should be: crisp, crunchy, crust on a good quality steak. Would like a little more seasoning. Eggs were cooked over easy as requested, which seems like a small thing, but it's hard to have that actually happen. And, that's where the positives stop. The gravy was bland with the sausage in it having no flavor. I requested 'crispy' country potatoes and, although diced to a size I like, they were complete mush (think diced boiled potatoes), absolutely no flavor, and room temperature. They are part of the meal and should be treated as such rather than an inconsequential afterthought. The toast was no better. For f-sakes, toast and butter it as if you want someone to eat it! They also pile the food on a plate that's too small. The eggs cover the gravy, the gravy covers the CFS, and the CFS is on the mushy potatoes. For the service, my server did the cardinal sin of letting my drink go empty before I finished my meal. Lastly, this place is like other PHX restaurants where they like to open their trendy garage doors to the outside, even when it's in the upper 60's and low 70's. That's too damn cold! Had brunch at here and I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with Tinga and an iced pumpkin spice coffee. The chilaquiles were delicious, crunchy, cheesy and saucy. They also had scrambled eggs on top. I took my man to this place for his birthday & sadly neither of us enjoyed it. I LOVE eggs Benedict, I try it at every breakfast restaurant I go too... this was the nastiest eggs Benedict I've had, the lime & spice in the sauce is awful and very overpowering. The steak and eggs were not it either, steak came out over cooked & the eggs weren't over medium.. they had no yolk. We asked for another steak and the one they brought out was lying in a pool of blood and tastes awful. She recommended a few items to us, I got the Banana nut French toast and my husband got the chorizo Benedict. Great choices on both, the food was so good and the atmosphere was very lovely and welcoming. I had gotten the fresh squeezed orange juice and while a bit pricey it was some of the best OJ I've had in a while and will definitely order again. My husband and I went there a few weeks ago. It was busy, but we were immediately seated. After a good ten minutes, we still had no server or drinks. My husband tried to get service, asking "excuse me" to two different servers that passed by. But they didn't stop. Another party was seated in the booth behind us. A server immediately greeted them and took their drink order. That's when we decided to leave. I would have liked to have tried this restaurant but unfortunately with the lack of service, we left. Ugh. This is one of those instances that makes me ask how a dining experience with so much potential (based on reviews) could go so terribly wrong. As with many such cases, it starts with the service, or the lack thereof. Despite a lengthy waitlist, we planned our arrival perfectly and were seated quickly. However, the person who greeted us didn't seem to know "where to put us" despite a number of booths and tables being open. They (a host team) opted to seat us along the back wall which, under normal circumstances would have been fine, but the door to the patio was open despite an outside temperature of 61°. I'm sure that's acceptable, and even pleasant, for some people, but not for me and, unfortunately, by the time our server arrived* the booths located away from the patio were full. *Read between the lines to note that our server's arrival took a while. I should also note that when we were seated, we were shorted a menu and a place setting which the "seater" said he would bring, and then failed to. So when our server finally arrived we ordered our drinks: coffee and mimosa for both my husband and me, and coffee for my son. Easy, peasy. Coffees arrived, but there were only diet sweeteners at the table. Both my husband and I tried no fewer than three times (subtly at first, and then a bit more vigorously) to get our server's attention to ask for sugar, and she literally ignored us. My husband finally resorted to putting out his arm to stop her from racing away after she was, yet again, helping the good folks at the table next to us...just to get sugar for our coffee. And our mimosas. Fast-forward, she brought the sugar (finally, caffeine!), and we placed our food order. Still no mimosas. My husband is, admittedly, a bit of a talker - he likes to build a rapport with the person who is going to be handling his food. Our server was not receptive to any level of conversation, or his dad jokes. In fact, I would go so far as to say she was annoyed. Whatever. Our food arrived in due time, and everything was as we ordered. Our mimosas arrived just as our food was served. It was clear our server had forgotten to place the bar order, although there was no acknowledgement of the error. Sigh. My husband had the two-egg breakfast and it must have been tasty because he is the only one who finished all his food. My son ordered the Southwest bowl which he said was just meh - no spice. I ordered the chicken fried steak which, while visually appealing, had far too much coating, and far too little flavor. For my bread, I chose the jalapeño biscuit which was pan-fried so it had a nice crisp; however, it tasted old/stale. The country gravy was oddly sweet versus savory - I was glad I asked to have it on the side. On a positive note, the server did stop by to check on us, but the only person to whom she directed her inquiry was my husband (I'm all for making amends) - or at least he was the only one with whom she made eye contact. Afterward, during the service period I like to refer to as "working for the tip", she stopped by twice more, checking in specifically with my husband once, and later asking my son if he needed a box. Mind you, I had 2/3 of my food still on my plate, yet I didn't receive a similar offer. In fact, my son said within earshot before she tried to race away again, "Wow. Mom, would you like a box?" When our server made her way back to our area, to drop the check for our table neighbors, no box in hand for my son, I asked her for a box as well and also requested the check. She quickly brought both (the most expeditious service we'd received since being seated) but then put the check in front of my husband. Really?! It's possible our server may have been inexperienced as she definitely made some wrong assumptions and missteps. More importantly, and less forgivable, she didn't seem to value me in particular as a customer. Nonetheless, I will share some advice with her: good and courteous service should be provided to everyone at the table, not just the person you think will pay the check or with whom you might identify. I can't say that we will return based upon this experience, but I hope she will make an effort to be more accommodating and thoughtful, and at least try to do better going forward. read more

Decided to try this place for the first time to round out our Christmas vacation. The place was bright and clean when we walked in. Plenty of staff for a Tuesday morning shift but that didn't seem to matter. We were seated in the bar area at a hightop. We sat for a bit of time before we were greeted, and it turns out we were taken care of by the bartender. I've worked in the industry for 20 something years and prefer bar service to table service any day of the week but here it just wasn't the same. The bartender decided to take on the task of cleaning the orange juice machine which is no small task and while she only had 7 guests the time we were there she didn't seem to care much. My soda went empty until our food was delivered and another server brought me a refill. Food was ok, my wife had the banana bread French toast and the bread wasn't soaked enough so it came out on the dry side. I had the chicken fried steak and really enjoyed it! I would get it again for sure. When finished we never got prebussed and we got tired of watching our person keep cleaning the machine without looking at her guests. We could have easily walked out without paying and she would have not noticed for a while(I would never, but know that's why people do it) but instead I just walked to the bar and payed the tab. We stopped this past Saturday morning at 8:45. It wasn't very busy and my friend hadn't been there before (my husband and I had been there once before and it was ok). I ordered an omelette with bacon,cheese and tomato, tater tots, and an English muffin. My friend ordered the corned beef hash and an egg over easy. My omelette was VERY over cooked (crispy edges) and my English muffin was hardly toasted. I should have sent it back. My friend said her corned beef hash tasted like it came out of a can and her over easy egg had the white part barely cooked. Mine was $23.16 which included a nice tip. Needless to say, we won't be back. Our server was attentive, but that's the only thing that place had going for it. read more

Food was very good, well-made, the eggs, bacon, French toast, quinoa egg bowl, that was eggcelent, breakfast sandwich, the hash browns were cooked well with crispy sides, espresso martini was yummy too, they were so kind to remake it for me without the very sweet ingredient. Great seating variation booths, tables, counter, patio w sun shades. Love the decor, bright with natural light, clean, pretty, positive vibe. Restrooms were also very clean. Great place!
