I went for breakfast Saturday morning and it was an ok experience. I used to go to the original location for some time when I watched an episode of Diners and Drive-ins. I loved the food and the experience but the drive for me was about an hour each way but the food made up for it. When the second location opened, the food at the first location went down in quality. I went a few times and ordered the biscuits and Gravy which were always amazing. Since the second store open the quality of the meal lacked. The biscuits were hard like they were old and the gravy lacked in flavor. I couldn't see driving for an hour for food that didn't hit the mark. When I read that they opened a restaurant 15 min from my home I thought I would give them a try again. On Sunday I went to the new location and it was a very cute restaurant. I ordered the biscuits and Gravy. Unfortunately it missed the mark. The biscuits were small and flat and the gravy was just ok. The gravy was supposed to have a hint of jalapeño but didn't and the amount of gravy was so small it didn't cover the biscuit. Looking at the pic of the food on yelp, my dish looked nothing like that. I order an extra side of gravy and got a tablespoon portion. I've been to the one in Glendale, as well as the one in Flagstaff. Each time I've gone the food has been better than I expected. The overnight oats are so good and their chicken and waffles are a must try! They have some pretty fancy drinks as well, but my favorite is the freshly squeezed orange juice. read more

All I have to say is finally a great breakfast place that is biking/walking distance to our house. Yes we have Biscuits but this place is a step above. We had high hopes and were not disappointed. The restaurant was really busy and they got us in within 15/20 mins. We ordered the flights of mimosa to spilt from the bar before being seated which was a great option. I had the country fried steak and it was so yummy. Everyone else was super pleased with their food. It's was a bright and cozy atmosphere and the extra long booths were super comfortable to sit our party of six. If I could leave 0 stars I would. We have been here a few times & really enjoyed it, however this previous visit will be the last & we're never going back. Service was absolutely terrible. We sat down & waited over 20minutes just to order our food after our server said she would be back in a few. I understand that it was busy, however our server was cleaning up after a previous table & prioritized that over getting our order. At this point we thought our server forgot about us & when she noticed we were waiting, she came up to us & never even apologized for us waiting that long. The 4 of us ordered, & 15minutes later the server came back to tell us that they were out of what we want. All 4 of our orders. AGAIN, didn't apologize. The what I think was a manager came over to our table, he came & said "Sorry guys"... from there on we ended up walking out. I get it things happen & they may be out of what we wanted as customers, but for the poor customer service & for a manager to not properly introduce himself & be so nonchalant about the lack of customer service we received, we will never be back. read more

We joined the waitlist before leaving our house. We were top of the list by the time we arrived (make sure you do this weekend mornings). We have been here a few times, as a vegetarian the california omelette is amazing. I order it with normal eggs (not just egg whites) and it is huge and chock full of veggies! It comes with garlic, and it is strong. I love garlic, so for me it is fine. My husband has tried a few options like the Southwest skillet and the biscuits and gravy, and has always been happy. My daughter has gotten the waffle and pancake with bacon. She does really well with both. Kudos to the good kids menu. Overall, this place is clean, comfortable, good coffee and good food. The servers were friendly, the place was clean and bright, and for how busy it was at 8am on a Sunday it didn't take a super long time to get food. We have a toddler and we asked for her food to come out first since knew our time was limited. We ordered an original eggs Benedict, an omelette and a kids pancakes. It wasn't bad food but we also were not "wow'ed" by what we ordered. The ham was SO THICK. Felt like an over kill. The hollandaise sauce was lacking flavor. The potatoes with onions and pepper were yummy with some ketchup and Tabasco. The kids pancake came with two pancakes and fruit so the perfect amount for a parent to eat the second pancake :) . Stopped in for breakfast today. Sat at counter, was promptly waited on and food came out quickly. I had the two egg breakfast, with bacon, potatoes and seeded sourdough bread, and coffee. The food was average, the eggs were cooked correctly, however, there was a ring of oil surrounding them. The one slice of toast was super small and hard. The prices are way above average and cost me $18. About an hour after getting home I had diarrhea and I believe it's from the oil the eggs were cooked in. As much as I was excited to have a new breakfast place near me, the prices alone will keep me from returning as it's just too expensive for breakfast food. read more

5 for the CFS, 2 for everything else. The chicken fried steak (CFS) is the third best I've had and that's saying a lot. Definitely the best you'll find in the state and everything a chicken fried steak should be: crisp, crunchy, crust on a good quality steak. Would like a little more seasoning. Eggs were cooked over easy as requested, which seems like a small thing, but it's hard to have that actually happen. And, that's where the positives stop. The gravy was bland with the sausage in it having no flavor. I requested 'crispy' country potatoes and, although diced to a size I like, they were complete mush (think diced boiled potatoes), absolutely no flavor, and room temperature. They are part of the meal and should be treated as such rather than an inconsequential afterthought. The toast was no better. For f-sakes, toast and butter it as if you want someone to eat it! They also pile the food on a plate that's too small. The eggs cover the gravy, the gravy covers the CFS, and the CFS is on the mushy potatoes. For the service, my server did the cardinal sin of letting my drink go empty before I finished my meal. Lastly, this place is like other PHX restaurants where they like to open their trendy garage doors to the outside, even when it's in the upper 60's and low 70's. That's too damn cold! I don't want to need a light jacket when I'm dining indoors. read more
