Several years we had OHD of Indy out to fix a broken torsion spring. That was a good and affordable experience. So last week when I notices the door making some loud squeaking I called and scheduled an appointment a few days away and they were able to schedule that day. Jed arrived, after calling to give an ETA. He listened and DX that it was just some wear on a part in the track and he would grease it, lube the door and he fixed an issue with our wall button, all for just the original quoted amt when I made the appointment. In less than 30 minutes he made our door sound new again. He explained that my current opener was fine, but in the future, it will probably need replaced, instead of repaired, because parts for our model are no longer produced. The woman at the Service Dept phone operator is extremely rude. I'm a 70 year old woman who doesn't expect too much, except for respect, and this woman has none. I recently had a new door installed and was advised per my warranty to request a check up in 6 months... When I called she was extremely rude and told me they would charge me if nothing was wrong. Why did the installer tell me to call anytime, I have a 1 year warranty! I will never call them again and take my service needs elsewhere. Bought a brand new house. Door is maybe 1 month old since it was the last thing installed. It doesn't open more than 6 inches. OHD has told my wife it was user error and said it wasn't covered under warranty. Then they finally sent someone out yesterday, told me it was the LED lightbulb installed. I informed them that is the blub the contractors installed over 2 months ago. They went on to tell me that 40° weather and below will cause the remote in the keypad buttons to not be able to open the garage door. Since this entire neighborhood has gone up over the summer I informed them that that makes absolutely no sense because all of the light bulbs are the contractor grade and all of the garage door openers are the same model that we have in this house and nobody else seems to be having this issue. They proceeded to accuse me of changing the lightbulb and I told them to go talk to a contractor across the road. The maintenance person left. My wife called customer service again. She was told to calm down when she was rightfully angry about the lack of support and service. Then the local rep on the phone asked who our builder was, when she said Arbor Homes, the rep laughed and said good luck. Then hung up. read more

Directions on the original instructions for our garage door keypad weren't working and we were getting a rapidly flashing light. Tried calling for help and was told average hold time was 2 hours and to hit a key for a call back, which I did, and nothing happened (go figure). Tried online chat and the guy disconnected me because I took too long finding the model number (according to him the model number listed on exterior of the unit isn't the model number). I give up. I would NOT recommend using this company. I had a garage door cable break. They had to come out three times to fix it. Each time it was something different and of course more money. it took 2 weeks to finally get it fixed. then the new motor assembly only came with one remote. The installer acted like it was my faul. He told me I had to get my own. then told me to watch a YouTube video to learn how to program it. this all took place in March. well yesterday the garage door crashed closed because a bracket that was installed came loose. We have had these guys out twice in the last 3 months the first time wasn't the best experience they ignored the request to know what was wrong before fixing the issue. I though we we may have needed new sensors and we did. It was way cheaper for us to buy and fix ourselves but we didn't get the opportunity to do that. This last time the guy was super duper nicer and helpful. He explained what was wrong want what he wanted to do. He gave us options, something we didn't get from the last guy. This time we needed new springs that allow us to open and close the door. The hit their life cycle limit which made sense since the door is almost 10yrs old. I'd I can request a guy I would request this second guy every time....but hopefully I won't have to call them again anytime in the next few years. read more

I will always use this company. I just received the BEST service from Joshua Smith. Upon my first call to schedule, I was able to get an appointment the same day and in the window of time that worked best for me. As promised, I received a call 30 minutes before the technician arrived to let me know he was on his way. Josh arrived on time and got right to work. Within just a couple minutes, he had pinpointed the issues. He told me the cost and began work right away. He explained every step of the way. He invited me to take a look at the parts and explained which parts are likely to break next and even explained if X happens, then Y is likely to happen. He didn't try to overcharge me for new expensive parts I didn't need. He even asked if I had any coupons before charging me. He was completely finished well within an hour. I told him I had spent so much time trying to connect a new remote to my door. Within minutes, he got me sorted with 3 new remotes- one for the inside (which he explained had partially caused the initial problem), an outdoor keypad and another remote for in the house. I am very pleased with the quality of service that I received recently from Overhead Door. The spring on our home garage door broke. I called at 7:30 the following morning when they opened and was told that someone could be out the same morning between 8 & noon. About 10 minutes later I received a call stating that the technician would be out in 40 minutes. And, in exactly 40 minutes (uncanny!) the tech was knocking at the door. The tech was very courteous. He replaced the spring and lubed the door rollers and was done in approx 45 minutes. Our garage door has never worked so smoothly and quietly! He also explained everything he did and the warranty on the parts & labor. I also feel that the price was reasonable. I had them out about 3 weeks ago to put a new seal on door that was about 10 years old, and had missing spots on the edges where critters and debris could enter. New seal was installed, but was not creating a seal with the concrete. Large gaps where debris could get in and heat escape. I was told that it would even out as the temperature warmed up again. After a day of looking at it and opening/closing, it was obvious that this was an inferior product or installation, and that 'waiting for it to warm' was not going to happen. I called and got the same service tech. He got out a beautiful seal already on the metal track, installed it, and now it's perfect! Technician Rob was amazing! He sweated his butt off on the hottest day of the year to put us back into business. We had just been ripped off by another garage door company who over-charged us for a new opening system that didn't work. Their system began malfunctioning from the beginning. Rob took out their faulty, overpriced system and put in a new opening system for us that was equipped with a camera, wi-fi and battery backup for $350 less than the system the other company quoted us! Thank God we didn't pay them! Rob neatly put all the old parts in boxes for us so we could easily return them. After 21 years of service, our Overhead Door garage door opener quit working. I called and the service department was very professional in scheduling my appointment with Jason, who had been here before to do a 'tune up' on the system. Due to the age of the unit, I opted to have a new unit installed. Jason is very affable as well as professional. Okay so the guy from Garage doors shows up and proceeds to tell me the the structural engineer who designed the garage was wrong and there was "no need for a beam to be where it was" so a contractor would have to come in to modify the structure so they could install a garage door spring. I said if you don't know how to do it that's not a problem I can have someone else come in and install a spring - which he interpreted as an insult (even though he saw nothing wrong with telling me and the structural engineer and I (who in his view didn't know what we were doing) and became aggressive, said "go ahead, insult me again" like he wanted to fight? read more

My friend accidentally backed into her garage door. It bent the bottom two panels enough that the door wouldn't really open or close. I drove over to OHD on Bash to talk to their service department. The parts manager is a former installer, which is very helpful. He was able to pull up the door by the address and knew exactly what we needed. He offered a few install tips, and sent me around back. They helped me load the panels in the truck and away I went.
