Gabriel came in very friendly, looked things over and spotted a few other things worth addressing. In less than 2 hours, not only did I have both torsion springs replaced, but upgraded my 30-yr-old metal rollers and added nee roller bars. I was never going to accept the job until I talked to my wife and had other quotes finished up **I hope everyone does their due diligence and gets prices from different businesses, and that they don't accept the first number until they find a competitive price point** After hearing I was not going to accept the job, they "found" a discount to their basic service, ~$870, and that they could knock it out right here right now. I had quotes much lower than both offers, and those quotes were working with the exact information Garage Door Doctor was. I said, hey thanks, but I can't commit right now until I hear back from other contractors and my wife. Well J.C. calls his manager and mentions I have a price of ~$600. That was what other contractors were floating. The manager agrees to a $600ish price point, but at this point, I already think they are untrustworthy. I said, "I am going to wait on a couple other quotes and talk to my wife - send me the estimate through email, please." The manager was extremely rude and pushy. Totally unprofessional. He says, "well what's the point in waiting?", "I just don't see how waiting makes sense. I said, "I think its weird you started with $1080 and got it down to around $600.", and then he said something along the lines of, "wasting each others time". I was over it, and I just replied, "hey lets stop wasting each others time then, it's over". I would have paid a fair market price, but after a god awful first offer and then around a 40% slash to try to match my other quotes, I thought these guys are not being fair and truthful. read more

I dented my car garage door and Tim, the garage door doctor Technician was able to come over the same day to get the door pulled down and closed. He said the car garage door cannot be salvaged and I needed to get a new garage door. He verbally quoted me 3 prices for non- insulated, insulated and insulated with triple layer and for getting my garage door down. I agreed.  ( note- given that my other garage door in non-insulated, it would not benefit me to get just one insulated, but that was not how he tried to sell it.) When he gave me the written invoice and quote, the price was increased on all 4 and he said he had only given me a ball park figure in the past. He also said if paying by credit card there is a 3.5% surcharge . Overall I did not appreciate his tactics....I paid him for getting the door down.  BTW, I did get another company to assess and give me a quote which was more reasonable, more communicative and with no surcharges on credit card payments. read more

Had to have them back 1 year later for the same problem and service. Last time they put my cables back on after they slipped off. This time one broke and had to put in new cables. They charged me $306 for cables plus the service charges. I can get heavy duty cables off of amazon for $9. That's a 3,300% mark up. They probably paid less buying in bulk also. Highway robbery!! Had them come take a look at a broken spring. They gave me options of new springs They took a look at the whole garage door and made suggestions and then they fixed a couple things that I did wrong for free. $600 later my both my springs was replaced, the guide wires were replaced and a metal brace at the top of my garage door was installed. It took around 2 hours from the time that the repair person got there until everything was finished and working again. read more

This is one of the most professional companies that I have ever experienced. Scheduling service and installation is so easy. I wanted a sectional door put into my kitchen leading into an enclosed patio. I sent a quote request to 3 garage door business, including this one, via Yelp. They were the first to respond. The others responded later, but said that it could not be done. They guided me every step of the way on this project. They cam out and took measurements. Then provided an official quote online which I paid half in order to get the door ordered. The door was installed first thing in the morning and took less than an hour. I'm giving 4 stars, mainly because I didn't exactly have service performed. I'd bee having issues with my garage door over the last couple weeks. Several times it wouldn't go down.
