I've used Overhead door several times, while living in Portland and now out in the distant suburbs. This time I backed into my door damaging it. Overhead door got back to me right away, my door is discontinued but they found old stock in their storage and cut me a pretty good deal. I also wasn't going to be charged anything if the door panels brought out weren't compatible, despite the distance. The work was done, it was done well and the quoted price was it, no hidden fees or anything else when it came time to cut the check. The work done at my old place was great, in 8 years I never had one issue with the products installed. At my new home I can say the same except for when I damaged it! I'm sure there are cheaper companies out there, I think you get what you pay for. Back in April my Garage door opener died. The company who helped me out before ended up being a no show for our appointment. Called another company and they gave me an extremely high quote. $900+ for a new replacement. I was shocked. Asked for referrals through friends and neighbors. They recommended Overhead Door. I got a new garage door opener for $436. That is half the price that I was quoted from the other company. Very satisfied. It comes with safety camera sensors and a light. Nice replacement, quiet too. We were pleased with the office/showroom staff from the moment we went in to see what they have to offer for garage doors and openers for the 2-car garage we were building. We received an estimate in a few days and compared it to that of a popular competitor in our area. The 2 estimates were $50 difference however Overhead Door Co. gave us higher R-rated insulated doors for the money. We were also pleased that they were willing to give us a quote directly as the competitor would only give us their estimate with our contractor's permission. (That's so the contractor can raise the price to the customer, if he wants to.) The installation of the doors and openers went very well. They look wonderful and the installer did a great job. He was not only skilled but personable and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. When the installer was finished, he gave us a tutorial on how everything works and gave us some feedback on where to install the keypad. He made sure to show us everything and remind us that if we ever need service or have more questions, they are a 24/7 company. He showed us how he made sure to take the wiring back from the surface of the studs in case we ever wanted to drywall the garage in the future. He also showed us how to realign the sights if they should be knocked out of alignment. We are so impressed by the quality of the doors and the way they are perfectly balanced going up and down by hand, if necessary. Equally impressive is the smoothness and quietness of the electric openers. We couldn't be happier with the entire process and results. We would highly recommend this company. read more

I recently called and scheduled a garage door repair services from them. Left a message and received a call back within an hour. The repair person ( I think his name is Charlie?) was awesome. I was worried the repair cost was gonna cost me an arm and leg but he got it fixed, plus fixing the dilapidated panels on my garage door without me asking. Wow, talking about great service!! And all of that was done within an hour!! My cost:$115. That was awesome!! He was nice, honest, courteous and professional. This company installed my two 8 foot garage doors in 2000. They came back and repaired one of the spring assemblies in about 2010. I called them Thursday and they provided a bid over the phone. I obviously sent them a very precise description of the problem. They do not have a reputation of being the cheapest service in town and as such they were the third company I asked to bid on the job. The first company, who had a fantastic Yelp rating were a 'no show'. The second company was absolutely excellent in communication and expertise. But they were a $75 more than Overhead Door, in a job that was already $100 over budget. I called OD and they showed up exactly on time. They charged exactly per their bid. They knew exactly what they were doing and finished in about one hour. I highly recommend this company and will be back for a third or fourth time...not the cheapest but very reasonable and really get the job done! read more

Took me about 30 minutes to get to this company, and they did not care about my concerns regarding my garage. They do not care about their customers, do not take your business here. I don't normally give bad reviews, let alone a 1 star review. I feel however, that I have no choice but to let others know what I've been through before they look into using these guys for a garage door. I first called them on Thursday October 9th with a request for some info and a quote on a metal roll up door. I was told mike just got into the office and wasn't ready to take calls yet and sent to his voicemail. I left a voicemail with my name number and a brief description of what I was after. The rest of Thursday passed, no call back. At this point I wasn't remotely concerned. I get it, business is busy and I'm not their only costumer. Friday came and went. I thought "ok busy week I'm sure I'll hear back early next week. Monday, Tuesday both passed no calls back. I called again at the end of the day Tuesday I was told mike is on the phone with another customer and again directed to his voicemail. I left my second voicemail Tuesday October 14th. I waited the whole rest of the week with no call back. I finally decided on Monday October 20th that I would just go into the office in nw Portland and see if I could make something work with that approach. When I walked in, there was mike in his office and he gladly spent 2-3 min and provided me with a quote. I drove home and called back that afternoon to accept the quote Id gotten from mike. Again I was told Mike is with another customer and to leave a message. I left a voicemail letting him know my proposal number and that I was wishing to put my 50% down and get this thing going. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.. No calls back. I called again today, Thursday October 23rd. After being asked to leave another voicemail I asked what the deal was. The lady tried to tell me mike has been out on vacation. I then reminded her of my visit to their office on Monday and she recalled me coming in and tried to change her story that mike was on vacation for a week and a half. Back in for a day, followed by another vacation and he will be back ok the office sometime next week. If you are going to tell me a lie, at least make it halfway believable. Overall my experience there has been far worse then awful. A waste of my time energy and quite insulting being treated like a fool. I run a business as well and understand when things are busy it's hard to get back to everyone, however, honesty goes a long ways read more

Timely response when I used their online system to request a quote. Bruce came out quickly to evaluate my newly purchased home for new operators. However Bruce had me open one of the doors without disabling the lock on the door itself. Now the lock is broken as well as the boom, disabling my entire door. Then Bruce ghosted me and never even sent me a quote for the entire door. If you are gonna come over and break my stuff, at least have the decency to send a quote. read more

Avoid this company.... Very Bad professionals. I wouldn't recommend these guys for any sort of repair. The technicians are good, but the guy who handles the work .. not professional. He calls you everyday and gives an update.... but right before the day of the install he calls the special order for the last section of my garage is missing and he says it would take 2 more weeks. Never assume these guys would stick to their price. if any changes in the invoice... they don't tell you about it until someone from Billing side calls you and says you owe $265 dollars more, as there was additional repair done. The Guy(BRUCE) who used to call everyday to give me every update forgot that the invoice has changed, when I was trying to reason him, that is where I found how unprofessional these guys are. Spent too much time finding the correct parts and in the cold trying to adjust it. Finally called a pro. Charley was sent out and arrived early. Very efficient, friendly and professional.
