So, I'm torn about this place. I am now the proud owner of a pretty awesome wood garage door that these guys made. And they installed it with a garage door opener that works really well - its so quiet. The people were so friendly when I went in to check them out, and for the most part, were always super nice. The problem I had was that no one told me that I needed a plug in a specific spot. They asked me if I had electricity in the garage. yes. But no one ever said, well, you are going to need a plug here. So when the technician shows up to install the door, he was very quick to tell me that he could install the whole thing, he just couldn't plug it in, but that I could with an extension cord. It wouldn't be up to code, but people do it all the time. really?! Luckily, I was in the middle of a garage remodel and the contractor was coming out later that day so he could put in a plug for me. BUT, both the technician and the man I called at the office told me I hadn't heard correctly and how did I think the garage door opener was going to work. huh, excuse me? I'm not stupid. I just assumed (shouldn't do that, i know) that they would handle any electrical work that needed to be done. Oh, and also, they don't do any framing for the garage door, so if you are doing something new/different, you are going to have to find your own contractor to frame everything out for the new door. I was a victim of a broken garage door spring for first time. I did not know this is the most common garage door issue. Not paying attention to the spring, I set upon trying to fix it myself... by tightening the lose screws, moving the screws around... As I operated the garage door few times during the process, the door panels basically came off. I thought I have to replace the entire door, which would have been really expensive. After a long day of trial and error and finally managing to put the garage door panels temporarily back up with a friend's help, I looked up Yelp and found that a lot of garage door companies have 5-star reviews. I contacted a Daves garage doors, one of the highly rated service: both over phone and directly through Yelp messaging. This business is likely closed, but Yelp cleverly (monetization?) routes this to other service providers and my message reached to Pacific Door Company who responded within 10mins of my Yelp message. Alex, who was representing Pacific, even gave me a quote when I sent him pictures and few details of what happened of my garage door. He also mentioned the service person would give an estimate before the work and if there was a discrepancy, I can deny the service with no quote fee (most of the companies were charging $49 or so for a quote). I got three quotes and Pacific Door company quote was the cheapest of all. The technician who worked on my door was professional and fixed the door. They installed our garage door 12 years ago and the door is working great, and the Genie opener work perfect. We converted our old door from sliding to a standard wood rollup door, and the installation was spot on. Pricing was great, in fact I even decided to go with an upgraded better insulated door since it cost less then I was expecting. The install time would have been 2 weeks out but the upgraded door I went with required 2 more weeks so 4 weeks total which is still better then the estimated install time of 5wks from a few competitors I got quoted from.
