Located off the 101 hwy ( therefore zero road noise), ocean view is incredible. Room was clean, comfortable, double sink, basically an average room. Excellent breakfast (7:30-10:30) with delicious scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, granola, juices and coffee or tea. Unfortunately the wifi is poor at best. Two bars in the room, once I walked out on the patio-zero. Also location in the room affected the strength and reliability. For nearly $300/ night, I believe I deserve stellar wifi. This will definitely be a factor for consideration next time I visit yachats. read more

This lodge was absolutely wonderful. Check in was very detailed. The woman at the counter was extremely polite and made sure to point out all the amenities. Free dvd movies to rent, snacks, and they also provided free drinks. I liked that the room was on the bottom floor and I could park next to the room. It was easy for me to off load all my personal items. Upon opening the door the room smelled fresh and clean. The view was beautiful too as it's an ocean view. Every part of this hotel was extremely clean from the floors, sinks, tables and chairs. The fridge and microwave seemed to be new. The beds were immaculate. Bathrooms were very clean as well. I believe the carpet was fairly new as it had that new carpet smell. But not to strong. We opened the slider door that leads outside and there was lounge style chairs to sit in. Had some tea and watched the sun set. I love that they have mounted on the walls the soap and lotion. Instead of using those little plastic bottles. And under the sinks in the bathroom they have a trash receptacle and a recycling one as well. They also give you a list to circle the items you want for breakfast and the time you want it brought to your room. We had eggs, potatoes with bell peppers, a fresh baked Pastry, yogurt, banana, granola, milk, and juice. This was included with the stay at no extra cost. We had a very lovely time. You can hike the Oregon trail straight from your room and down to the rocks on the beach. I strongly recommend this place. I felt so safe there, very important especially traveling with just my child. read more

The Overleaf Lodge is an oceanfront hotel in the coastal town of Yachats, Oregon, where I've stayed on a weekend to attend a wedding. I had a room with a view of the coast and the distant horizon. It was nice strolling along the beach and feel the ocean breeze, where the air was fresh and clean. On the shore, there were sea lions basking in the sun, unconcerned by the presence of impertinent humans. As I looked farther in the sea, I saw a pair of dolphins seemingly having fun. So far it has been an excellent experience. I'm very picky when it comes to hotels because I like them to be clean and not smell. This is honestly one of the cleanest hotels I've ever been to. We're staying in an ocean front ground floor room and the view from the patio is spectacular. I really appreciated the complimentary beverage upon arrival as well. I feel a little conflicted leaving this review...I am worried that I will exploit the "secret". This place is beyond amazing! The food, the view, the spa...it is the best hotel I have stayed on at the Oregon Coast, without doubt. (I am from Southern Oregon) We choose a room with a whirlpool tub and when not at the spa, we hung out in the tub whale watching. A pod of whales was showing off a few hundred yards from our room. You will not regret staying here. I booked this room based solely off Yelp, it is the greatest Yelp find so far. read more

This place is fantastic!! Our new favorite on the Oregon Coast. Let's start with very nice people running it. Everything about Oceanleaf is low-key. Yes, this is a first-class lodge but neither staff nor quests act like it. Very refreshing! Yachats, as a town, just isn't real 'touristy'. Not much shopping but some good food. Mostly locals. Oceanleaf fits right in. It is a beautiful facility but again very understated. They had a nice wine tasting in the early evening with some local vintners. Every room is on the ocean. I mean ON the ocean!! The waves breaking on the rocks only a couple hundred feet away was magical. Very therapeutic. We had a patio, first-floor room, where we could sit on nice Adirondack chairs, drink some wine and just talk. Then we strolled on well-maintained paths along the Pacific Ocean. There are large, private, rough-hewn benches along the path just to sit and look out. Didn't see any whales, however!! The rooms are beautiful, just right. Great bathrooms with double sinks. And the shower and toilet are in a separate room. Good coffee and amenities too. Beds were good. I liked mine, my wife thought hers was a bit hard. I slept like the dead with the waves crashing just outside our open door!! An interesting buffet breakfast is provided. I say interesting because it is not your usual fair. There was a ham, cheddar and egg bake, fruit, various cereals, fresh blueberry scones, and several other things plus good coffee. It was small but perfect. Good protein to start the day. Finally, yes, this lodge is a bit pricey. Even by the standards of Salishan, Stephanie Inn and others. We've stayed in them all and this is the best, by far. We don't mind paying top dollar for a great experience. This was our anniversary weekend and we can't wait to come back. We're making plans already!! Thank you Oceanleaf and well done!! read more

Obviously for $250/night it's not a 5 star hotel. Who even takes the time to Yelp 5 star hotels though? However, considering some of the hotels we stayed at during this road trip, Overleaf Hotel was AMAZING. Pros: spacious parking lot, third floor and quiet room with ocean view, very clean room and bathroom with all the amenities. Friendly staff, yummy continental breakfast with plenty of food options. DELICIOUS COFFEE! Cons: beds were a bit squeaky, I kept waking up every time someone moved in the middle of the night. If you're traveling with kids, they won't be able to use the spa/hot tub. I'm a review reader not much of a writer, but this place was AMAZING!!! Was apprehensive about staying in the coast as past experience hasn't been great. I was just hoping it would be clean (my prayer, please god let it be clean) it was superior in cleanliness in not just the lobby dining area but our room, bathroom, bedding... we moved the sofa for a better view while enjoying coffee in the am and wine in the pm and even under the sofa was perfect!!! Now the view was a real WOW!!! Sitting in the tub at night watching the sunset!!! Words don't describe the beauty!! My husband and I are quality foodies unfortunately the Ona was the only restaurant we found nearby close to our preference. Walked in the other ones and walked out. Back to the Overleaf... it was a perfect stay! Worth more then 5 stars!!! read more

Located in a gorgeous setting on the rocky shores of Yachats, Oregon, this hotel has everything you want in a first class resort. The Overleaf is a lovely hotel and we had looked forward to our visit. The previous week I had received emails confirming our stay and a copy of our receipt. I took photos of these luckily because when we arrived we were told "Your room was canceled." We requested details when it was canceled and how ie by phone or email. Staff said "I don't know it was canceled. We don't have an email on file." I showed her the emails I had received that week. She said I will see if we have any thing available. We ended up with a less desirable room located right off the front lobby for the price we had originally agreed to. Nice place to stay hope they don't walk you too. read more

My Husband and I enjoyed 3 night at the Overleaf. The room was clean, the front desk was friendly and helpful, we soaked in the hot tub and we walked along the 809 trail out front to see the water spouting show and the nice sunsets. Breakfast was plentiful We were close to several hiking trails and the beach. I highly recommend this resort. read more

Although I've traveled to Yachats quite a bit I've never had a chance to stay at the overleaf. I definitely will be coming back. What a little gem heading on the coast right at the ocean line. Service is amazing decoration is so beautiful and you can't beat the front row seat for the ocean beating on the rocks below. In the evening they have a reception with cheese and crackers and vegetables. On Fridays you can try wine. They include breakfast each morning. Rooms are spacious and well laid out with gas fireplaces and awesome windows to take it manage of the views. Bathrooms are spacious with soaking tubs. Beds are comfortable and you have a wide righty of entertainment choices. The trail outside leads north to the beach or south into town. Overall it's a lovely place to get away from it all or to host a business meeting as they have a library with a board room area whiteboards tables etc. Come try the overleaf if it's worth the drive. read more

We just finished a six night stay. The hotel was exceptional. Clean, modern, and well appointed. Nice extras with a full hot breakfast everyday stocked with unique and excellently prepared choices. The views and the grounds on the ocean are exceptional. They allow for a variety of experiences based on tides, weather and time of day. The town of Yachats has several local restaurants worth visiting. Great place!! read more

I'm a nurse...therefore....stress, busy & chaos define my daily life! SO trips alone to relax & enjoy silence are needed! This was a last minute getaway & it definitely delivered what I was needing! The lodge is perfect! Quiet, quaint & serene! The room (restless waters) was awesome. Big huge whirlpool tub in a nook of the room surrounded by windows looking at the crashing waves of the pacific! Kept the slider open to sleep listening to the waves while staying warm by the fireplace! All towels were made into swans & Avedo bath products on a real seashell in the bathroom were little things that made the lodge so quaint! Plus they meet all your needs by having a fridge, microwave & complimentary washer & dryer! The spa was stunning! My massage was so relaxing that I was left drooling & quite possibly without a pulse! The breakfast is healthy & coffee is delish! The lodge has a computer room & a library with books & puzzles & big cozy chairs! DVD's you can rent (up to date titles). Oh & the ocean is just outside & the lodge sits on the 804 trail which is a breathtaking walk through Yachats along the ocean! Awesome tide pools with starfish! Highly recommended!!!! read more

Booked our Valentine's getaway based on the reviews and the outstanding view, and I hoped that everything would be as solid in person as it is online; we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a smile and friendly and expedient staff. Our entire check-in took 5 minutes, and we were on our way with a bag of chocolate to boot! Our room was spacious and clean, and I made an immediate bee-line for the patio. I opened the sliding door, stepped out, and the waves of the Pacific were glaring back at me. Honestly, every room here has a front row seat to the ocean views. As we arrived late, we dove into the extremely comfortable bed (nice linens too!). The morning arrived, and we made our way down to the breakfast (included with our stay). I was expecting the usual hotel "free breakfast" of a croissant and some fruit. No way! There was a full menu breakfast with souffle, several cereal choices, bacon, scones, English muffins, and several beverage choices and juices. I find that a lot of places have their routine down, and it either works or it doesn't; but what happens when there's a problem? We had an issue come up where one of our room keys stopped working. We waltzed downstairs, and informed one of the staff at the front desk. Everyone was busy, but instead of making us feel like a chore they made us feel like a guest. They apologized, and in a few minutes we had fresh keys and another bag of chocolate for the trouble. A+ to you all.... Our check out was just as painless as our arrival, and on driving away we honestly missed this place. It was so relaxing, and the environment was warm and inviting. EVERYTHING was a solid hit, and the only thing we could have wished for was a bigger shower (cramped for two lol). We will definitely be back to Overleaf, it is indeed a gem! read more

Only stayed here one time--birthday treat--and it was superb. The Oregon Coast is beautiful any time of the year, and staying this near the ocean makes it that much better. Our room was very cozy and clean. The gas fireplace was great on a chilly spring evening, too. We didn't book any spa services but did use the soaking tub and hot tub which were both divine. Nice sitting areas in the lobby (it's very large and open, lots of windows). Beautiful art throughout the property. The breakfast is amazing! So many choices, everything is hot and fresh, and plenty of healthy stuff not just pastries and coffee. Oh, and their coffee was great, too. Their gift shop is well stocked with quality souvenirs, apparel and local edibles. Only wish we could afford to splurge and visit The Overleaf Lodge more often. I've stayed at two different hotels in Yachats, and this place is the best. Our visit came with torrential rains and 75 mph winds, and we still had an amazing experience at Overleaf. We stayed two nights to celebrate my birthday, and while I was checking in they sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian. The lodge and room itself were beautiful; they decorate with locally made glasswork, photographs, sketches, and paintings. Every public area boasts NASA's favorite air cleaning plants, including an impressive jade in the library area with gorgeous octopus arms. The room was clean with complimentary Aveda products, and a bed too soft for my taste, but not for my happily snoring partner. The lobby area offered Portland Roasting coffee and an assortment of high quality teas, with compostable cups during the off hours. The breakfasts were downright exquisite, with combinations of proteins, veggies, and carbohydrates to fuel a morning hike. The only suggestion I'd make is to add a small takeaway map of Yachats to each room, and a brief list of recommended dining. When it's raining and cold, it's hard to choose a place on a whim. I'm not staying anywhere else in Yachats again; this place is too good. read more

I frequent this place only for the spa services. I can't say we've ever had a bad experience. We have had many mediocre massages but the spa amenities quickly make up for the okay massage. However, during my last visit I had a massage therapist by the name of Abby and I am certain I received one of the best massages I have ever gotten. Considering my well over 100 massages in the past 7 years... That says quite a bit! Not only did she find the perfect pressure for my deep tissue massage, she also was able to somehow last the entire 90 minutes without tickling my ever so ticklish calves. By the end of the Massage I felt brand new. I will definitely be going back and asking for Abby!! read more

Wow! We stayed in a corner room with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Room had a fireplace and a terrific deck to sit and watch people stroll on the trail that leads to the beach. Mini fridge, microwave, robes and dining area all in a spacious room. Although we didn't use it, the room also had a Jacuzzi with a full on ocean view. The breakfast (which is included in the price) was the best that we had during our two week vacation. The staff were always pleasant, especially Rena, who went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. We'll be back! read more

Nice location, and very nice for an Oregon Coast Hotel (though the choices are getting better) but not as luxury as one may think. based on their advertising, lovely logo, and beautiful entry from the highway. The location is everything: right on the ocean with great views, easy access to the 804 walking trail, easy access to the beach, tidepools and rocks, away from the highway traffic. Decor and layout is a bit outdated. No dining on grounds except for a free breakfast. Clean and friendly. read more

My review is for the Grand Pacific Suite (on the 2nd floor) -- it's a large suite , 2 full bedrooms, a full kitchen, with a large dining/living room. It is located right beneath the spa and we could hear some banging on the floor that isn't what you'd expect in the grand suite of the hotel. Can't say I know why they would locate this suite below the spa? The lobby is quite big and has nice art to look at or purchase. Keep in mind the lobby is also the store and restaurant. I also thought it was odd to exit the hotel to access other doors to you rooms particularly after dark. The Grand Pacific Suite seemed nice and was decorated appropriately. The fireplace location was a bit odd and the switches to turn it on were strange as well. I guess one turns on a light in the fireplace and the other ignites the flame. I thought the bed was quite comfortable. Firm mattress with a soft top. The pillows and bedding had a little more to be desired. A finer quality sheet set and additional sleeping pillow would help. I thought the bed spread looked old fashioned and outdated. The bathrooms of both rooms were excellent in my opinion. Jacuzzi tubs and rain showers. They even had towel heaters which was a nice touch. The TV's are good flat screens and have a variety of local channels. The Wi-Fi worked good for me and it was free. I didn't use it but the kitchen was nice clean and well appointed for longer stays. I didn't use the spa but after reading the reviews I wish I had. The breakfast was far from stellar in my opinion. They had a couple good muffins but that's essentially it. Coffee, OJ, cereals, and a little fruit. This is the one area where they really could have hooked me with some better coffee choices, more fruits, and fresh pastries. Overall not a bad place and not top cabin. Decent and clean. Don't forget to take a stroll along the lava shore for the scenery. We're returning in a few weeks and may stay again.....undecided. read more

The decor was very inviting. The staff was also very pleasant and cheerful. The welcome drink was a nice touch, as was the delivered breakfast in the morning. The views were beautiful as well. I did not stay at the hotel, but booked a Vichy Spa treatment in order to use the facilities, especially the hot tubs overlooking the ocean. Nice spa, interesting treatment, but left me wishing I had gotten a regular massage instead. The water jets were nice, but I hated putting a wash cloth over my face to keep the water off. I could not breath. I ended up holding the cloth away from my face, which effected the relaxation the treatment should have given. They need to come up with a plastic face shield to avoid the water torture feeling. The therapist was very accommodating and opened the door when it was too hot, and provided cotton pads when the water was running in my ears, but all in all, was not worth $145. The salt scrub was ok, but the therapist was not trained as a massage therapist, so it was not the relaxing "massage" with water I expected. read more

GREAT OCEAN VIEWS on the Oregon coast. Each guest room has an ocean view and rates are very reasonable (I think we paid $179/night during peak summer season). They have suites with whitlpool tubs that overlook the ocean and studios with kitchettes. There is a full-service spa and a small fitness center on site. A complimentary hot/cold breakfast is included. They also have rental homes on the property called Overleaf Village. It's a great place for weekend getaways or family reunions. Several galleries, lighthouses and black sand beaches (yes, black sand in Oregon) are nearby. Be sure to bring a camera. The only downside is that they don't have an on-site restaurant. There are several tasty places to eat in the little town of Yachats but groceries are limited. Do your food shopping in Florence or Newport on your way, if you're renting one of the cottages or a room with a kitchen.. read more

I m here for the labor day weekend so I am paying 245$ per night plus tax. But my room comes with a jacuzzi. It's amazing!! The jacuzzi also overlooks the ocean. The room also has a balcony. I love taking pictures so I take my slr with me everywhere. I got tons of pictures of the ocean right from the balcony. The room is very well kept. It's clean. It has a microwave which we didn't use because we were staying only for a day. I am from Portland and the city lights block out the stars but here the stars are crystal clear. It was amazing. Sunset is also gorgeous Don't forget to bring a jacket because the Oregon coast is not warm. The ocean is literally on the doorsteps. This is not a beach however. It doesn't have sand that you can run and play on. There are huge rocks at the ocean front. So it's probably not advisable to access the ocean from here. You can hear the ocean from ur room. Just watching the ocean from the room is worth what I paid for the room. ( I generally hate paying too much for accomodation ) They have an exercise room Which also overlooks the ocean. Looks like they also have a spa ( I didn't use it ) I would definitely come back here but maybe not on a holiday weekend. read more

We like our room, it's very nice and has a great view, but we are sitting in the lobby and are very chilly, they have a fireplace that would give it a nice warm atmosphere but it's not going. For a couple hundred dollars a night it would be nice for the coffee to be hot and other places we have stayed the have cookies in the evening too. read more

The Overleaf Lodge offers a great location and quality accommodations at a price. Even the day before Thanksgiving, a night there was around $150. The hotel itself was both comfortable and nice. The room was simple, but the beds were comfortable, there were plenty of pillows and we slept well. Our room was in the first floor, and had a door onto a path to the beach. The weather wasn't great when we were there, but the kids enjoyed spending time by the seashore. It was pretty messy, however! The hotel has a beautiful lobby, with a small giftshop, a comfy fireplace area and a well appointed breakfast room. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and focused on whole-grain/natural foods. When we stayed, guests seemed to be mostly retired people, even though we are in our 40's, we felt a bit young for the hotel. read more

Every room has a spectacular view, the setting is far enough off the main highway so it is quiet. the only sound you hear is the ocean. The spa is terrific and peaceful. The staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite part was the breakfast!! Very good. There is a trail right out front of the hotel for a great hike, it is called trail 804, check it out. read more

We stayed here for our honeymoon and absolutley loved it! We stayed 2 nights and were also able to enjoy some services at their amazing spa! They have a very large soaking tub located in their spa that you are able to use if you're staying at the hotel. It has the most relaxing view overlooking the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will be back again! I would reccomend this place to couples wanting a romantic getaway, not so much for families with kids. Though I do think they have cabins also on the grounds that would be better suited for families. read more

The reason to come here is to sleep with the windows/doors open as you hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Having the beautiful Pacific Ocean shore right outside your door filled with all things serene will take all your stress away...seriously, one night here did wonders for me. Best sleep I have had in years! I highly recommend a room with a balcony and fireplace. It was quite enjoyable to have the fireplace on while the balcony door was open. The view is what you are paying for the rooms leave a little to be desired. The hiking trail along the coast is amazing and a great place to watch the sun set over the Pacific. The spa on the third floor is is a very nice touch with warm and hot tubs and sauna and steam rooms do add a lot of value. Downside the internet died at 1030pm and did not come back on until the morning. read more

I just got back from a weekend with 7 girls, we stayed at the skookum house, located within the Overleaf lodge/cabins. It is a 4 bedroom home completely furnished, games & books included. There was 3 bathrooms & laundry room. We had a great time, it was close enough to Lincoln City & Newport for shopping. The path to the beach was great and easy access. I would highly recommend this to any family wanting a quiet and relaxing weekend. read more
