Had an appointment, sat in the lobby for 30 minutes, then sat in our 'room' for just shy of an hour. Doctor finally came in and said they "forgot" about us. A few weeks go by, wife needs to go in again to get a referral to the next place we have to go in the chain of specialists, appointment made, wide sits in the waiting room for 1hr and 40 minutes over the appointment time. All to get a referral both times. Quite literally needed to speak to a doctor for less than 30 seconds on both occasions. What a joke of an office, wow.

Then because my daughter had a temp of 100.1 the provider said we were not allowed to wait inside. Was told she would need a Covid test and flu test before being seen.. Covid test was supposedly positive so we were then turned away. Did 2 Covid tests at home and both were negative! Went to ER and my daughter had a ruptured ear drum! Thank god for ERs because urgent cares in this town are horrible! To top it off another pt got a $300 bill because they did not tell her that her insurance was out of network! Horrible service! First and last time I'll be going here. Also nothing online about insurance, so I'll post a picture of what they had taped on the front desk!

Very professional and clean - yeah, I know that's to be expected at a hospital, but you know there's a big difference between levels of 'professional' and 'clean', and I'd say this hospital definitely ranks best out of the 6-10 I've been encountered in my life. My surgeon said he can't do as many surgeries in a day at this hospital compared to the other one in town. At the other one, patients are pushed through a lot faster -which he likes - but he understood that from the patient's perspective it's probably better not to be ran through as quickly. Personally, I LIKE to know I'm not on a conveyor belt for surgery, but being cared for in the best way. I'd choose them again. Kudos to everyone who is patient facing at Mercy Medical!

When I asked if I could get a pillow for my wife and I, I was literally told to go look for it myself. None of the staff takes any initiative and the only way we have made progress through our visit is by us asking the staff to do things. For example we were told that we needed to wait for an ultrasound review. After waiting for 2.5 hours, we asked if they knew anything and they were like... oh yeah we've known for a bit, everything looks fine. Seriously? You didn't think it would be important to tell us that? It's the only emergency room around, but that's no excuse for the absolutely horrendous service/care we've received. There was one male nurse who was very helpful, but he's the only positive part of this experience.

This clinic effectively refused to see a burn victim because he was from out of town…read more My friend sustained a bad burn at a gas station checking his engine. We drove to three different urgent cares (all closed) before calling Hilltop and making sure they were open. They told us to fill out an online form and that a nurse could help him triage from the car (because we were from out of town they didn't want us to enter). However, when we arrived, they changed their tune, saying they "may not" be able to see him and that they would have to decide. After begging a rude receptionist over the phone who ignored my friend's pain and made his urgent need for help about her ("I'm sorry sir I do t know who you spoke to before but you don't need to take it out on me!") Someone came out and told us to take pictures of the burn and email them, and they *may* be able to see him in 2 hours. Keep in mind he has a bad burn and is in need of immediate treatment. We decided to leave and seek help at a pharmacy instead. Who knew you could get better help for free from the staff at CVS inside Target than the people at a an urgent care clinic... The website says the 5 physicians started this clinic to help patients with minor emergencies. Looks like they strayed from the path. We were treated like second class citizens here. If your care needs are urgent, I urge you to reconsider seeking help from Hilltop.

Their expertise and experience was shared freely and prepared me for my procedure (pre. and post). Dr. Randy Tate is skilled at his profession. We are very lucky to have him here in Redding! He explained my procedure completely and I feel confident that I couldn't have gotten better care and results! The surgery changed my whole outlook on skincare and health; besides making the subtle improvements in my appearance it has boosted my confidence and motivation to take care of "my investment".

The office itself was beautiful--very clean, and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Tate himself was the complete opposite of what the office initially conveyed. I came in for lip filler and was very open with Dr. Tate about the look I personally prefer. I explained that I like my lips fuller and even showed him pictures of myself so he could understand what I was looking for. He gave me a consultation, but rather than keeping it at that, I was told that the look I wanted was not "vogue" and was "not in." He also made a joke about seeing me in a couple of months with my "big lips." I laughed it off in the moment, but the comment stayed with me. I also found it unprofessional that he made disparaging remarks about another local beauty/dermatology center, essentially saying that if I wanted "bad work," I could go there. And frankly, there was something particularly uncomfortable about having a male physician make comments and jokes about the way I wanted my lips to look, rather than simply explaining his professional opinion and allowing me to make an informed decision about my own appearance. What I think is important to understand about experiences like this is that women often walk into cosmetic practices already feeling vulnerable. It takes a certain level of confidence to sit in front of someone you have never met and openly discuss the things you may feel insecure about and what would make you feel more confident. You should be able to have that conversation without feeling judged, mocked, or made to feel like your preferences are somehow wrong. I left the office and, once I got to my car, I cried. I immediately called the practice I normally go to--the one where I feel comfortable, respected, beautiful, and welcome. That experience made the difference between the two offices especially clear to me. I understand that every physician has their own aesthetic philosophy and may not agree with a particular look. That is completely fair. But there is a respectful way to communicate that. You can tell a patient that you do not recommend a certain result without making them feel embarrassed or belittled for wanting it. The office itself is lovely, but for me, the way a patient is made to feel matters far more. I ultimately left feeling discouraged and more insecure, which is the exact opposite of what I believe someone should feel when leaving a cosmetic practice.
