I'm new to the Oxford area. An appointment was set for myself almost a month ago. A call was made to confirm my appointment this morning. As result of my being at work, I did not answer the call. However, my appointment was cancelled. I was given a ludicrous reason for cancelling. I've heard of many businesses charging a fee if appointments are not cancelled, but this is absurd! Update: I've now had two other friends get second opinions after being told by Oxford dental that they needed procedures done and again, they were told by other dentists this was false. Beware! I recently received a second opinion from another dentist on a procedure that Oxford dental told me I needed and based on that, I have decided to no longer go to Oxford dental. It's quite possible I've received procedures in the past that were unnecessary. I should have questioned why I suddenly began developing cavities as soon as I started going to this dental office when I never had them before and was told by another dentist I still don't. Get a second opinion and ask questions if you feel strange about what you're being told...and if you hear the hygienist and dentist whispering...and if the dentist doesn't give you an exam after each X-ray. NEVER GO TO OXFORD DENTAL!!!! THEY IGNORED MY PAIN AND CHALKED IT UP TO NERVES NOTHING MORE. THEY SHAVED DOWN MY TOOTH TO THE GUM LINE AND REFUSED TO FIX IT! I JUST WENT IN FOR A FILLING! I went to get 3 fillings done in one visit. Novocain was used and as they were drilling I jumped from the pain. They added more and chastised me for jumping. They told me to instead raise my hand, they drilled again after giving me another shot. It hurt so bad I flinched again. They told me to not do that, and the doctor had the audacity to tell me I jumped because I was anxious and not because I was in pain. I am not sure if she gave me another shot or just pretended to do it, she left that side alone for a bit. When she went back to the same tooth, obviously it hurt again, and I raised my hand and was ignored. They continued to drill until they were finished. After all that, they shaved down one of my teeth to the gums, and the other had a large chunk taken out and not properly filled. I complained and they told me it was nothing. I saw the result in the car and walked back in. I waited for an hour to be seen and was picking out huge chunks of either filling or tooth I couldn't tell and the doctor dismissed me the entire time and refused to fix it. This whole experience was unprofessional, horrible dentistry and I would never go back. The desk staff is super nice though and they tried to be as accommodating as they could, but the dentist Dr. Ambereen Fatima was so horrible I will never return. THEY DELETE GOOGLE REVIEWS!!!!!!! The woman dentist there is by far the worst!!! The pain she inflicted on me was unbelieveable; she could have cared less and would not stop. I now have three crowns that she recommended and none of them fit right and are causing me a lot of problems. I've been back five times since (not with her) and they have tried to correct it. None of the teeth were bothering me at all when I started out, but she insisted I needed these three crowns. Now I'm paying for it in more ways than one! Dr. Jas is a great person, that being said, I've never had so much pain in my teeth before until I became a patient of Oxford Dental. I've been going here for years now and I've never had a pleasant experience. First I got my wisdom teeth taken out here and I was forced to be awake for all four impacted teeth. It was beyond awful. Last year they insisted on filling a cavity though I had no pain. After the filling I had the worst pain imaginable. Which resulted in them having to do a root canal on the tooth. I just went in a few months ago and they filled again some teeth that were not hurting and funny how now I'm in excruciating pain and guess what, they want to do another root canal, which I cannot do until my insurance renews because I used all of this years benefits to pay for the last root canal. What is the kicker is my 15 year old sister went in and had a few fillings done on teeth she said didn't hurt but Dr. Jas insisted on filling. Now, unsurprisingly, she also in excruciating pain after getting her fillings. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I'm all done with Oxford Dental. It's nothing but a giant money scam. read more

I needed emergency wisdom teeth removal because they cracked and were bleeding a ton. Oxford claims they specialize in wisdom teeth extractions so I went there. After dealing with fillings falling apart, I got a second opinion on my teeth. My new dentist did some xrays and told me that not only did Oxford leave my entire wisdom tooth root, they also left some of the tooth above the gum line and the infection from that was spreading to my molar. They also said my fillings were done wrong, which would explain why they were falling apart 4 days later. After telling me the wisdom tooth issue was "just a mistake," Oxford said they could fix it but that insurance won't cover it if it was done somewhere else. I chose to pay to get it fixed at my new dentist. read more

Went here for a filling while the dentist was working on my tooth i complained of pain, he continued... i left there with my mouth numb, when the numbness subsided there was growing pain! I ended up with severe headache, the next day i called all dentists including oxford dental but there was a snowstorm so they were closed. I went to a dentist and he did an emergency root canal! I will note that the dentist wasnt the lady but a "sub" dentist that they bring in who was more interested in flirting with the dental assistant than the care of my teeth. This was for A CONSULTATION for my 7 year old son who was in extreme pain. Mind you I get there early paperwork for new patient is filled out and I had X-rays and everything they needed ready. We drove 40 minutes to get there. So we waited about 35 minutes before we were even taken back. Then they did even more X-rays on my son who's in extreme pain. One girl didn't know what she was doing so a nice Russian woman came over and was great with him. Then we went in to the room and waited 30 minutes with no explanation why a consult is taking so long before he even saw a dentist. Then I finally say after being so patient.. How much longer? She said not to long and it was another 15 minutes. Finally the dentist comes over and says basically we need even more X-rays.. My son was crying it was taking them forever to get these pictures right!!! Then he said I can't bite anymore AND THIS BITCH SAYS YEA YOU CAN AND SHOVES IT ROUGHLY IN HIS MOUTH!!! I mean really... He's 7 and in extreme pain. So I go over to the receptionist who is ignoring me doesn't even say give me a sec until someone finally comes over and says HELP HER. She said I'm busy. Then eventually sighs and says what can I do for you. I explained everything she said well YOU COULD HAVE ASKED WHY IT WAS TAKING SO LONG. How dare this evil bitch. She just kept blaming it on me for not asking which I did ask and took no responsibility saying I was yelling I was speaking firm didn't even raise my voice. It's called defending yourself. I will not only never go there again but be complaining to the owner and be telling everyone not to go there. I will never stop or forget this ever. Was horrible. I had one really ungly large wisdom tooth and was in heavy pain so went to see my dentist. He said it wasn't quite ready to be pulled and set up an appointment for a month away to check into it more! He gave me nothing for the pain, and told me to take ibuprofen when it acted up in the meantime. Going crazy I went ahead I actually bought a tooth puller on ebay specifically for this tooth and gave thought to pulling it out myself! When I got the tool, I attempted to grab my bad tooth and my head almost came off my body. That wasn't gonna work. So I called Oxford and they made me a fairly quick appointment, quicker than the appointment I had with my dentist. Oxford looked at my tooth and had no hesitation to pull it. "Yeah, it has to go." was the reply. THANK GOD! Fortunately, Oxford Dental had the foresight to set up my appointment that day with a dentist who specialized and handled the task quite well. It was OUT! It was HUGE & twisted and just a horrible looking tooth. I took a picture for my wife! It was really bad and I am so relieved it came out. My head was back to normal. YES! During a scheduled cleaning several months after my extraction a young lady who was cleaning my teeth, also took some x-rays and informed me then, that I had a couple of old fillings that looked like they would soon be a headache. I wasn't really feeling anything wrong at that time, other than maybe some slight sensations when I had something really hot or really cold, but I didn't know where it was coming from so I took it under advisement and went back to get them evaluated. Good thing I did because the rot in at least 2 of my teeth was really deep and after the MichaelAngelo type care I received, almost 2 hours and 4 fillings later was told that the two teeth were near root canal level and they may actually need to be either pulled or worked on further if what was done to save them didn't work. They took a chance rather than waiting for me to come in, in pain, needing to make a fast decision to pull or save. I can tell you, sitting in that chair for those 2 hours I knew everything that was going on, they weren't faking it! The numbness wore off about 4 hours later and my mouth and teeth were quite sore until the next morning, at which time I felt back to normal.. What craftsmanship! I can honestly say I can hardly see or feel what they did!!!!?????? For two hours I felt that drill and my nerves were on edge at times even though I was numb to the hilt! I felt the drill working on one tooth like a stone artist sculpting a masterpiece! There was not a jitter, hesitation, or hint of a lack of positive attitude during the entire procedure. They went into battle calm, cool and collective, knowing what the odds were! Because I didn't even know I was in that bad a shape & they just may have saved two of my most important teeth! What was my previous Dentist thinking?! That wisdom tooth could have killed me! Oxford dental gave my teeth the best chance and may have saved my life. I do not work for Oxford Dental. None of my family works for Oxford Dental. No one I know works for Oxford Dental. This was my experience. Yes, IMO, this is as good as it gets! My teeth feel pretty great at this moment! read more

Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND. I had a molar that required a cap in 2005. I went to OXFORD DENTAL. The temp cap NEVER fit correctly, nor did the permanent. It always bothered me. Food was constantly getting stuck between the tooth. I went back several times and finally gave up. Here I am 4 years later with pain in the same tooth and now requiring a root canal. Little did I know at the time that a root canal SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE the first time around. I went to my wife's dentist. WHAT A GREAT JOB he and his staff did. Two hours in the chair and it now feels GREAT. NO pain and the temp cap fits like a glove. The permanent will be on this Thursday, 7/2/09. The OXFORD DENTAL cap NEVER met the gum line and the part of the molar that was exposed turned BLACK. I am now out of pocket $810.00 to have the same work done. This place is AWFUL. If you're not a fan of the dentist to begin with, Oxford Dental will only intensify that. I get there at 1:00 pm for my 1:20 appointment and I fill out my basic information as a new patient. Once I was done I brought it up and was assuming they needed my insurance card for my information for billing. It took me several attempts for them to understand why I was giving them my card.... okay (Whatever) so I go sit back down and another twenty minutes passes. I noticed there was no one coming in or out, so I went back up to ask if there was a delay in an appointment or if they were at lunch. Either way, I wasn't upset; simply curious. I am then informed my appointment was at 1:40pm and "I must have heard wrong" even though I made sure to check the time multiple times when I made the appointment. (Once again, whatever) I finally get pulled into the room and I am told to sit in another waiting area while she cleaned up the chair from the previous patient. Meanwhile she's asking me my dental history. She was making me feel comfortable. That is until I actually get in the chair. I inform her I have a tooth a filling fell out of and I must have not noticed for a very weeks because it's in rough shape. She looks at it and I kid you not... "Oh man look at what you did. That's definitely coming out. You're letting it rot!!" Well I wouldn't be here if I was "letting it rot" hello.. Anyways she was very rough on my teeth and thinking about it now my teeth are throbbing. After the x-rays, exam and cleaning she says "well okay! Make sure to schedule for your deep cleaning and fillings! The dentist popped in while I was cleaning your teeth and looked everything over and agrees. Just stop at the desk" and I asked "what about the extraction? And I have cavities? What?" She says "oh yeah, I guess for the extraction too if you WANT. Just make sure to book an appointment for your cavities first" If my tooth is rotting shouldn't I get that out first? And not to mention a priority over a cavity that no one even told me about really? I never saw the dentist, I still don't know how many cavities I have or what the plan is to fix them OR what's even really wrong with my tooth that needs to be taken out. But I sure do have two emails, two texts and a missed call informing me of my next appointment. This story might not do it justice because I didn't go into every single detail but please just take my word... Find a different office. read more

I was a patient for many years and had some marginal experiences with Oxford. Having said this I like Jas personally and she seems to be a caring and professional dentist, but the team is another story. Unfortunately we don't often recognize the hygienist or specialist from a previous visit, and it can't be in the patient's best interest if there is too much employee turnover (as a result they don't know your dental history very well). We heard this was an issue there from someone in the field. We called for an emergency need (work injury to face-teeth), and were denied as they were too busy. "Maybe next week - Goodbye". Not even a referral to someone else. We were stunned. We called another dentist we heard good things about, and they took us in that day. We gave up and moved to them (a great decision). Since then I have heard similar feedback from 2 former patients that we recommended, who have also moved on. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE AT ALL!!!!! I went in for a cleaning/x-rays in early 2015 and was told I had 2 cavities and could come back after I had my daughter (pregnant at the time of visit). Well I went back in 03/16 due to pain in those teeth and thought I was just going to have them filled. Well I had x-rays again and they said I have 4 cavities and needed a root canal on another tooth and this was just the top left side of my mouth! I was in SHOCK! They told me that a root canal would cost me $1000 out of pocket. So long behold I have been saving my pennies to make sure I get my teeth taken care of. Well i called around cause everyone told me that it was strange to have such damage to my teeth happen so fast, like less than a year. I seen another dentist yesterday in Westborough and he told me that my "major tooth rot" where I needed the root canal was an EXISTING FILLING!! An existing filling that was worn out cause it was filled 16 years ago and all I needed was to have them refilled! CAN YOU IMAGINE IF I HAD A ROOT CANAL AND DIDN'T NEED IT!?!?! I had ONE cavity on the top left side of my mouth in addition to the fillings that needed to be refilled. These people are only out for their pockets, seriously. There're a million dentists out there, so please consider choosing ANYWHERE other than this office! You will def walk away broke or having teeth fixed for no reason! read more

I have been a patient of Oxford Dental for many years. I recently had a root anal done for the third time, This time I went to a real endodontist. The procedure was done perfectly. Oxford Dental's Dr. Kaplan had done it twice without using a microscope or doing before, after and during x-rays. When the real endodntist did the procedure she discovered a fourth canal that had never been treated nor discovered by Dr. Kaplan. The man is a menace. This is the quality of help that you can expect from Oxford. They are much more concerned with a dollar than their patients well being. read more
