We only have carpet on the staircase (16 stairs) and he did a good job in a short period of time. The carpet did take longer than the quoted 2-3 hours to dry but dried faster than I remember with carpet cleaning in the past. Two hours after my schedule time i received a phone call telling me that the van was in the repair shop and they were hoping that it would have been repaired by today. Obviously they knew in the morning that the van was not repaired so why didn't I get a phone call before 2 p.m. It also took four days for them to get back to me to even schedule an appointment. Horrible experience. The tech showed about 20 minutes late and then proceeded to tell me he couldn't clean the backside of the couch because "he didn't have time". He did not extract the water after "cleaning" my couch and it took a full 24 hours to dry. Despite him telling me it would take 2-4, but did admit the couch was soaked. If it has been properly cleaned it should not be left soaked. He spilled dirty water all over my rug, floors and stairs and didn't bother to clean it up. He also showed up looking like he just came off a bender. I reached out to talk to the owner about my experience and to see if they could send a different tech or give me a partial refund, but the owner - Andy Mathurin, has not called me back after I have called multiple times on the past 2 weeks. I asked one of the phone reps if I could have his direct line and they said they "aren't allowed" to give it out. Don't go here. There are much better places in Reno that aren't run by someone who doesn't value his customers and will hire anyone regardless of their ability to do their job efficiently or even show up on time. I was originally quoted $200. When the tech came out he told me it would be $380 with a spot treatment that he said I really needed, but would get the stains out. I was hesitant, but I agreed. After he finished it looked like he didn't do anything. There are still stains throughout and he didn't even get out the heavy traffic area stains. Will never use them again. Was happy that this company fit me in their schedule last minute. He was on time and friendly and he did a great job in a short period of time. He used plenty of product to make sure the carpets were getting clean with less water. They dried much faster than other companies. And they smelled great too. I am happy I found them and will use them again. It is a pleasure to have a company that does not try to sell you more services than you need to bump up the bill. I wasn't sure how good of a job John Beug at Oxi Fresh could do, but my alternative was ripping out the stained, smelly carpeting in the teenagers' rooms. I decided to try cleaning them first and I am AMAZED at the results! A sixteen-year-old can cause some issues with carpeting, including but not limited to unidentifiable stains and a room that literally smelled like moldy sweatsocks or perhaps a decaying animal. I had low expectations regarding the stains but hoped that the smell could be eliminated, at least so every time Jr. opened his bedroom door I wouldn't retch and run for a can of Lysol. John at Oxi Fresh pre-treated two of the badly stained, odoriferous rooms with an environmentally safe cleaner and then proceeded to steam clean the carpets. When he was fnished, he had me inspect the rooms. The carpeting looked fantastic~stains completely gone (except for a bleach spot that can't be removed) and best of all, THE SMELL IS GONE!!!!! Bless that man...I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen (and smelled) it! They also have coupons available on their website for additional savings...I paid less that $200.00 for four rooms being cleaned, three with the Super Odor Destroyer Pre-Treatment, one without. The carpeting dried in about 2 hours, so that was convenient...highly recommend this carpet cleaning service over other local cleaners which I have used and been dissatisfied with...thanks John! read more

Had my carpet clean today and Johnny did a great job on getting the job done excellent customer service.

I had to give it one star because of ease of online scheduling. I might have given another star for showing up early, had he not clearly demonstrated HOW he managed to get so far ahead of his schedule. The work was SO disappointing that the first star is a polar negative value because it assisted in my unfortunate decision. My carpet is high quality 30 year stain master with their best pad available- only 14 months old. And it looked new, just an occasional small spill and some heavy traffic areas. It looked much the same when he left as it did when he arrived. I can't say what was the greater source of shock and disbelief- when he informed me that the carpet didn't come clean (not one, but ALL of them) implying that my brand new carpet was soiled beyond repair? Or that he wasn't reporting to say he had finished the FIRST room. He was claiming he had finished all 3 AND the 12x16 area rug. I had to feel the carpet for dampness in order to determine if he had done any work at all. I supposed it was possible my carpet was defective. But it wasn't possible to give him any benefit doubt when he invested little more than half an hour on 3 rooms and an area rug? It takes at least twice that long just to run a vacuum over that much carpet. And the icing on the cake? He actually gives me some lame ass instructions to work the soil loose by walking around on it for a few days then use the vacuum. And to continue this process of walking around on it in between vacuuming and the carpet will slowly get cleaner. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this process is NOT how carpets get cleaned. It is in fact, how they became dirty in first place The size of this guys balls.. SEEERIOUSLY! Could he be any more blatant? He basically wrapped things up like this:.... "Hey. I'm gonna take off now. Got my next gig to screw over (trying to make some extra money by doubling up on jobs and cutting my work in half- cuz I get paid commission by the job- not by the hour) " I see you're a bit skeptical cuz I didn't actually CLEAN anything, But I threw a little water and soap on it. Just needs some time to soak in and start working. You can finish the shampooing and cleaning part without my help. Just walk around on It and vacuum it once in a while. It will practically wash itself." What is the point of wasting 10 minutes making excuses and spewing instructions on how I should complete his work for him? When he could spend it on actually DOING his own work? And How miserly and lazy can he possibly be that he can't invest an additional 10 minutes on top of the wasted 10, to just repeat his 5 minute sweep of each area a second time- after the cleaners have had a few minutes to soak in and start working? I trust him in my house even if I'm not there. John with Oxifresh just cleaned our carpet in our 2100sf house for the second time. We have a 6 year old, low quality white carpet that came with the centex home when we bought it. The machine and the liquid formula he uses are able to clean really well and provide fast drying. John is very friendly and professional and very accomodating regarding schedule. We are very pleased with his service however the machine he uses is not capable of cleaning totally the corners and we would have to manually clean them (maybe only one half inch; it's not much but still as a customer would appreciate a complete finish). This is the WORST carpet cleaning job I have ever seen!! The employee was incompetent. Couldn't do the job. Had a hard time communicating. Was at a loss as to what to do when I showed him how bad the job was. I called for the owner to come out and look at it. John was VERY RELUCTANT to come out. I have pulmonary problems. I am on oxygen 24/7. My husband is in advanced stages of MD. All of my furniture is stacked in the dining room, kitchen, hall & bathrooms. John wanted me to put all of my furniture back and he would address this later!! I said no, I can not move the furniture 4 times!! Once almost killed me already, it took me 2 days to move the furniture. I showed him how every room was done poorly!! Traffic patterns still visible. Areas of heavy use still dirty. Actually there was not any dirty area that showed improvement. John insulted me. Verbally pushed me around, double talked me. Told me it was normal to get very dirty water up after a carpet was cleaned! I would not give in. I demanded for the carpet to be cleaned. He finally agreed that it could have been done better. He did the redo job himself, right there and then. Now my carpet looks good. But why did I have to go through all of that just to get the job done?? read more

John from Oxi Fresh did indeed provide a service with a great attitude however the treatment, in my opinion, was not effective. He "Cleaned" an area of carpet in my home and then treated with odor destroyer for pet urine, specifically dog. Please do some research of your own on the Oxi-Fresh web site before you hire this company. They don't extract anything, treatment consists of some nontoxic chemical spray that binds the dirt and then a counter rotating brush lifts up the particles to the surface where you can supposedly vacuum it up later, after they are gone and the carpet is dry. Odor destroying treatment consists of an "enzyme" formula that is touted as eliminating the offending bacteria that is creating the odor. It is sprayed on the carpet. Does this make sense? No extraction, urine remains, bacteria do not create the urine odor as they claim, urine is sterile and stinks coming out of the dog so how is this going to help? In my opinion it is merely a gimmick to mask the urine smell. Urine stains in my carpet were just as prominent as they were before the treatment only now they had the masking carpet cleaner odor along with the urine odor. I confirmed the remaining pet stains still existed after treatment using a simple black light (urine fluoresces under ultraviolet light). Traditional extraction did the trick and actually "removed" the urine rather than masking it with some perfume. If you have pet odor problems, I would not recommend this type of treatment. I would have been satisfied with a refund of just my odor treatment ($30 of the $72 spent) however John was unwilling to do so and claimed all that he could do was treat it again. It is not very convenient to move my furniture in and out multiple times for this to work. Traditional carpet extraction (steam cleaning) is the way to go for this type of mess. John did call me after I left a one star review on the company web site. I thought he was calling to help fix the problem but he only ended up arguing with me on the phone. Claiming I know nothing about carpet and that he would not be returning to my neighborhood in the future and that the company would only allow me one negative review so I couldn't leave any more negative feedback. It is true that I know very little when it comes to carpet, and it is true that I am unable to leave further feed back on the Oxi-Fresh web site, but I know what urine smells like and I know what urine looks like under a black-light and I know there are other avenues to voice my opinion in order to help others from making the same mistake I did. My opinion stands, the fact remains that the treatment was not effective. It may be nontoxic (something that drew me in) but it is also, in my opinion, not effective. John also claiming that my dogs probably re-urinated could not be true. The dogs are no longer sleeping in the house at night and have not been inside the house unsupervised since this carpet cleaning. I hope this helps you make an informed decision. read more
