I can't believe this place has 2 stars because it is one of my favorite food court places. The teriyaki is so fresh. The chicken here is my favorite. It's very juicy and soft. I visited this location today while working a highly demanding shift as a Home Health Aide (HHA). While trying to buy a quick meal and managing my client's essential health and feeding needs, the staff openly looked down on me and treated me with zero respect or basic human empathy. Navigating a busy mall with a vulnerable client is already incredibly challenging, and instead of showing patience, the workers judged and humiliated me for simply doing my job as a healthcare provider.Their toxic, unwelcoming attitude was so obvious and uncomfortable that I even noticed a young mother nearby tell her daughter that they should go somewhere else to eat instead. It is disgraceful that a business would treat paying customers--especially healthcare workers caring for others--with such elitism and disdain. I spent my hard-earned money here ($11.69), but I will never return. If you support healthcare workers, caregivers, or people with disabilities, take your business elsewhere. Cash only. The store is on third floor food court. Around Sunday noon, there wasn't a long line. Got my food within couple of minutes of ordering. The chicken was already cooked, but they grilled the shrimp after my order. There was lots of chicken and vegetables in my platter. The chicken was inconsistent, some were tasty, other pieces were overcooked and felt like chewing rubber. The vegetables also had average taste. read more

Convenient Located inside the Palisades Mall at the food court close to the Carrousel, Oyishi JAPAN was a convenient stop for lunch today. I wasn't sure if that was a good thing, Wendy's next door had big lines while Oyishi JAPAN had none. I decided to take a chance and stop over. After a quick scan of their menu displayed, I decided on a Chicken and Beef Teriyaki meal. I barely understood what anyone said to me, the food court was noisy plus I wasn't picking up much because of accents. I'm not so good at separating out sounds. Still, it worked out, I got what I was after. The chicken was very good, the beef not good at all, and there was a large quality of food. The food court has common seating, it is a huge area, and it was very full of people. We did manage to find a table within a few minutes. read more

Cashier was nonstop on her phone and I literally stared at her waiting for her to get off the phone so I can order. She just stared back and continued chatting away on the phone. Then she gestured one of the chefs to come ring me. The food was a decent amount and pretty good. One star to the food and only the food. read more

I am a fan of this place. Been going here since the mall open and even when they had the same shop in the old nanuet mall. I usually get the beef and chicken teriyaki with soba. OK this is Japanese food served in a freaking mall so you can imagine that it's really not that great. The only plus side is perhaps it's one of the healthier offerings at the food court at the Palisades Center. They give you a choice of either white rice or "yellow" rice. Yellow rice is their version of fried rice but don't expect anything that resembles real fried rice. It really is just plain white rice with some sorry little peas in it and completely flavorless. Vegetables served well fresh or certainly not the more premium carrots broccoli and maybe mushrooms but rather a lot of cabbage. Vegetables also lacked flavor. Make sure you get some of the sauce packets to add. Believe me you'll need them. read more

Check your receipt and count your change! Not only this restaurant refused to take my credit card, but they over charged and short changed me on cash! I ordered about $41 of food from this place on a Saturday morning and we were the only group there - so the cashier was not busy. She seemed to have an attitude when we placed our order but we did not think much of it. After getting our food, we sat down and checked out the receipt and found that she charged us the Snapple's rather than the bottle waters - which was $0.40 difference (but for 5 people, it was a $2 buck mistake). Then, I checked the change that she gave back (which I put it on a separate pocket) and found it short of $4. I thought it was strange as she "counted" it in front of me. My friend suggested she might have used $1 counted as $5. I went back to her telling about her mistake after our meal. Of course, she denied that she short changed us and got fairly angry and nasty. Instead of fighting her, I asked her to refund me the differences on the drinks which I thought it was a easier fixed with evident. She won't. She told me that we ordered the Snapple's. It was a good thing that two of my friends did not throw away their bottles and showed her that we got bottle water. She then said that she would refund only the bottles that she saw - 80 cents. We really were not in the mood to fight her so we accepted it. Then, I found that she only gave us back six dimes (not 80 cents). We told her about it - but she went ballistic.. saying, in broken English - that the difference of $1.89 (Snapple's) and $1.49 (bottle water) was 30 cents. We were surprised at her reaction and amused by her explanation - and we all laughed hard. That really ticked her off. She then just walked away - but was stopped by another male employee who gave us 20 cents back. He then said that if we did not move away, he will call the security! That was a very strange experience! The total loss for us was less than $5 and it was no big deal! It must be a lot of money for those employees who took a great length to get that... To the owner, pay those people more so they don't resorting to cheating their customer! read more

Do NOT, under any circumstances, eat here! I was nearly hospitalized after eating lunch here with a terrible case of salmonella poisoning. I vomited for two days straight which led to severe dehydration. The health department needs to shut this place down immediately. read more
