We love this sushi place. This is our second visit, first review. We loved our meal then and now. Service was great, food came out quickly especially since ordering kids meal first then sushi then entree of Katsu. Everything we had was great and we will be back, soon! Love that it's in Portland and right off the main road. Plenty of seating both times we went, busy dinner and late lunch time. The edamame with spicy garlic sauce was soo good! We have eaten here several times. I find the food mediocre and the portions are atrocious for the price. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. We live close and it's convenient. This is the only reason That I can imagine for it still being open. Portland is void of really good restaurants and people don't want to drive to Corpus or Rockport. The sushi is ok but over priced. Every other dish that I have tried is bland and minimal. We will never return. I've finally had enough. One thing of note is that the service is just fine. There's so many favorites on the rolls, the nigiri and sashimi is a must, appetizers are great! Best sushi spot in South Texas and it isn't even close. You are immediately greeted by a friendly member of the staff. I believe his name was Andrew. The waiter was quick and certainly gave 5 star service. He was able to make modifications to our order, and had very impressive people skills(thank you to our waiter Sebastian). Now the bar. This is where I quite possibly had my best restaurant experience ever. The bartenders Ross, Jerry, and Sebastian(he does both!) are out of this world! Phenomenal fresh sushi! We have a few places in San Antonio we go to regularly (and I've been to the most famous sushi places on the west coast and NYC). I'm picky about my sushi places. This place is amazing. Sit at the sushi bar and tell Jason (the sushi chef) and his brother what you like and they will make you the most amazing dishes. He will blow your mind away. Oyshi is very consistently delicious with generous portions and the flexibility to substitute to taste with their rolls. We highly recommend it if you're in the market for sushi.
