I've been to this strip mall almost a hundred times, for the MA RMV and most food or hardware or liquor shopping, and finally was here when they were open to try them. The small restaurant door opens up to a huge traditional asian decor, including a good sized sushi counter and large dining areas. Their menu is easy to navigate through the various asian tastes, and having now tried Chinese, Japanese, and Thai selections, everything is very good and portions are great. Whether Chow Fun or Pad Thai or sushi, the tastes are genuine and authentic. What kept me from the 5th star was the absence of pork on the lunch specials and Pad Thai. Also, they don't have fresh oysters, only fried, and I hope they have some oyster specials when the season returns to the NE. Parking is wide open and easy to find up close. read more

I am leaving this review after attending Long Table event in Haverhill. OYUMMY is the restaraunt that served my table. I was throughly disappointed with the dinner. It was a plate of typical brown Chinese sauce with broccoli and onions. I belive it was supposed to have chicken. There were two minuscule peices on the side of my plate. I was waiting for rice which never came and clearly wasn't included it the meal. We also recived,as an appetizer, coconut shrimp. These were Ok. I paid $175 for my seat and I understand much of that went to the non profit who organized the event. Other restaraunts served surf and turf, very good pasta meals with salads and bread. The Phoenician served hummus, pita, lamb chops, baked stuffed lobsters, salad and rice pilaf. My friend and I who attended along with others at our table got robbed. I was really craving walnut shrimp after golf and found this place. I thought it was very yummy, it was the perfect amount of sweetness and loved the walnut crunch. We also ended up getting beef stick (I thought it was good, my bf thought it was missing some sweetness), General Tso chicken, and beef lo mein. We love Oyummy and it is a convenient location for us so we come often. The sushi is pretty good, the drinks are very strong and good. They have the best chicken fingers ever! We also very much enjoy the scallion pancakes and the gyoza. I really wanted this place to be good since it is near my house. However, THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST ASIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. PuPu Platter- $20 for barely any food. The menu states its gives you 2 of each item. Unfortunately, I just ordered a PuPu Platter on a whim and didn't check the menu. THEY DON'T EVEN GIVE YOU A WHOLE CHICKEN WING!!! If I had seen the menu, I never would have ordered it. On top of it being ridiculously overpriced, each of the different foods was soggy or dry and tasteless. Spicy Mango Sauce Chicken- tasteless and nasty. It tastes like it was made from a Market Basket sauce packet. Pad Thai- no flavor what-so-ever. No peanut flavor, just a very odd dish. Basically noodles and chicken with some weird, crappy sauce. Hot and Sour soup- very gelataneous and AGAIN, no flavor. Sushi- poorly wrapped, fell apart, flavor wasn't too too bad but was bland and not worth the money. Gyoza dumplings- only thing that wasn't horrible. Our takeout order was $70+ Absolutely ridiculous! Fisrt time we came her, I was impressed, so we decided to come here again for my birthday. The food has always been great and the presentation is wonderful. The service is very good and always attentive. The owner, John is a very nice, friendly guy. He came over to the table and chatted with us and sent over a complimentary birthday dessert. Very nice. It's nice to have a good new Asian restaurant so close to home. They have a large menu with great selection. They have bento boxes too. The food is decent but could be better. The bar service is atrocious when Amy is on and it's obvious she feels threatened when there's another female behind the bar with her. She also had no idea how to make a Long Island Ice Tea, and even though she is WRONG she will still argue until she's blue in the face. The bar area is my favorite. Bartender Omammy or Aka Amy is a master mixologist. She makes a great drink and has the personalized touch you are looking for from a bartender. Ordered takeout, a pupu platter and beef lo mein. The lo mein had barely any beef, barely any veggies and only half filled the container. Basically it was just noodles. The pupu platter "for 2" was the smallest amount of food I've ever seen. Each of us got half a chicken wing, chicken and beef on a stick, an egg roll that was like the bland ones sold in supermarkets, one coconut shrimp and 2 chicken fingers because we substituted for the crab rangoon for a $1 upcharge. The coconut shrimp tasted good, everything else was flavorless. Don't have to worry about having leftovers here. They don't even have fresh duck sauce. I came here for dinner this past weekend with my husband, a friend of mine, and her husband. Our friends live close by, and wanted to try this place out since it had just opened the week prior. If we were to return, it would be exclusively for take out. The food itself was not the problem. While I think there are better places in the area for Chinese/Japanese cuisine, the food at Oyummy's was fine. The service, however, was deplorable, and were inside this restaurant for nearly three hours. I had to remind the waitress three times about an appetizer we ordered, because our friends were receiving their appetizers, but our beef teriyaki was yet to be seen. When it finally came, it was very greasy, but tasted okay. We also tried the fried calamari, which were rubbery. Those two appetizers we wouldn't get again, but the gyoza and egg rolls were tasty. Our friends got a couple rolls of sushi to start off with, which they said tasted fresh. My friend got coconut curry chicken, which she said was quite good. Her husband got the beef lo mein for his entree, which we kept reminding the waitress about as our food continued to arrive but his did not. She told us they were busy. More time passed, and my friend's husband still did not receive his food. When the waitress came to collect our plates, as at this point we had finished, she once again said his food was coming. I commented, "well, now that we've finished..." She took our plates away without another word. When the lo mein finally did arrive, it was fine. It was your typical lo mein dish, which my friend's husband ate awkwardly by himself with the three of us just sitting there as we had long since finished our meals by the time his arrived. I understand this place is new and that some kinks always need to be worked out with anything new, but having food come out in the general ballpark of the same time so that a party can eat together is pretty basic restaurant management. The next matter was our drinks. At the 20 minute mark after we had placed our original drink orders, I asked the waitress about them, and she informed me they were coming. About five minutes later, they arrived. Everything just seemed very disorganized and excruciatingly slow. When we finally wanted to pay and leave, our waitress was nowhere to be found. We arrived at Oyummy's at 6pm, and at this point it was approaching 8:30, so I went up to the hostess stand and approached who I think was the manager, and another waiter. They looked overwhelmed, but the waiter was very nice and apologetic when I said our waitress had disappeared, and he promptly brought our bill to the table. As we were figuring out the bill, our waitress finally emerged and came over to collect long-empty beer bottles. She looked confused that our bill was on the table, so I said to her, "I'm sorry, but I went up to the hostess stand to ask for our check because we had no idea what was going on, or where you went." She said nothing, looked at the floor, and ran off. We never saw her again. As we were leaving and heading out the door, three other people holding their bills approached the hostess stand saying they couldn't find their server to pay their bills. The only reason I gave two stars as opposed to one is due to the fact that the food for the most part was decent, and at the end, the waiter I spoke to was very polite and prompt and at least made an effort to help. Also, we had a gluten allergy in our party, and they were very accommodating and a manager made a point to go out back to confirm with the chefs on how a dish was prepared, so that part was handled well. read more

The food was great, however the service was terrible! We got there at 5:45 - I went in to see if they could seat us. They brought me to a table. I said thanks I'll be right back going to my car to get my childrens' diaper bag. Came back and the table was taken because they seated someone else. We had to wait 15 more minutes for another table (with my twin 2 year olds). We get to the table and the waitress walks by us at least 5 times - doesn't take our order or even check in to see we needed drinks until 6:25 (25 minutes after sitting down!) We ordered three things. One thing came out right away within 10 minutes - then we waited until 7:00 for the final meal (35 minutes). They were very disorganized and not friendly. I would try again but wouldn't bring my kids back since they waited over an hour to get their meal. One might see the menu and think it is a bit pricey, but that all changes once you get your meal.... the servings are HUGE! I ordered veggie lo mein and had enough to eat it for 2 days.
