Went to the spot with the hubby. Nice place, cool bar. This is the second time at this restaurant. Friday early evening, not a lot of people, but ut was earlyish. Hubby and I ordered some drinks, my cider was really good. Forgot the brand, but it was mango something. He had the stake tips, and they looked good , cooked perfectly. Medium rare. We also had the pork gyoza and they were tasty. Now, here comes the issue. The menu is very international, from American fare to Asian cuisine (sushi). I decided to order their queso birria tacos (quesadilla). Now, I am very familiar with this dish and the original version. I did not think they would not know what or how to make it. When I got the plate it looked okay, but it wasn't like the real Version (corn tortilla fried in the fat skimmed from the broth. The beef was good, and overall it was okay. We stopped by for dinner on Friday night and it was busy! It gets a little noisy as the night goes on and more people are coming in. I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi here. The sushi menu was larger than I expected and the two rolls we ordered were delicious. The sizing of the sushi wasn't very consistent, but it had good flavor. The steak tips were cooked well. Great food but definitely not "the spot" to go to. It's more like a 2.5 for me. I forgot my ID and couldn't be served (no big deal) and then I tried to tell the bartender about how we were new in town and looking for a new bar to hang out at but she cut me off in the middle of my sentence to tell me I couldn't be served still. I was just trying to make conversation/introduce myself but the same thing happened it previous visit with the waitress. Really soured the whole experience especially since she went on to talk to everyone else in the bar. I'm still trying to adjust to small town life and felt really bad not getting the nice conversation I am used to at other bars. All the food was incredible but also super expensive. When we'd been here before we got the sushi which was amazing. An appetizer, a burger, and a single beer plus 20% tip cost us $50+ If you want great food go to the spot, if you want friendly conversation and good prices this isn't the spot. read more

Went on 7/31/2025 with my wife. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Started with the fried cheese curd. Something was a bit off other than being cold on the inside. Sent back, came out hotter but something was off. The taste of the cheese was just not good at all. My wife ate it bc she didn't want to complain again. She ordered the macaroni and cheese & I ordered the steak tips, medium with tater tots and broccolini. Food came, and my $30 steak tips were well done. Tater tots were crispy. Whatever...I ate it. My wife's macaroni and cheese was inedible. She had like 4 bites and told me to be quiet. I told her not to bring it home as I didn't want it to sit in the fridge as we already put the trash out for tomorrow's pickup. She felt bad and asked for a box so we brought it home. I really wanted to like this place. Fact is it's not terrible but had so much potential. I was told they had no cider. Ordered a coke. Server didn't bother to tell me they were a pepsi establishment. When I tasted it I realized they sent me a diet pepsi. I sent it back and having no better choices ordered a pepsi. The 2nd one that came to the table was correct. We ordered the Nachos as an appetizer. Was a busy night so it took a while to hit the table. They were good except they were quite a bit greasy(probably from using cheaper cheese). The melted cheese was fully solidified by the time it came to the table. I ordered "The Spot" burger medium. It was cooked well done. Not a trace of pink in it. Very dry burger. Bacon on it was top notch and cooked perfectly. Person with me ordered Salmon. It also looked very overcooked and dry. I don't know if I would have a better experience on a less busy night but all the food was overcooked. This place may be worth us trying it once more to see if this is a consistent problem. read more

I am a regular here and the staff is great. The restaurant has potential and the food here is slightly overpriced but is generally good so I wouldn't complain about the food overall. The management here is simply non-existent or completely disconnected from the customer. They seem to decide on menu and bar choices from some corporate office that doesn't have any connection with the customers that actually eat here. The general manager left this location abut a year ago and it doesn't appear that he was ever replaced. The food menu choices and beer tap offerings seem to change without any reasonable explanation. I have not seen an actual manager working here in over a year. Bottom line, I will continue to go here because I live so close by and the staff is generally excellent but this place is a bit overpriced and they don't seem to really care about meeting the needs of their customers. read more

The food was cold and overdone. My husbands Cobb salad had 6 pieces of cold hard slimy chicken. My son's chicken finger dinner had 5 tiny (smaller than my pinky) pieces of cold chicken fingers. My sushi had avocado that was brown/black and smelled fishy. My son's pretzel bites were right out of the freezer cold and half frozen. We will never go here again. For $139 you'd think the food was moderately edible. We had to throw everything out NOTHING was edible. Will never order from The Spot. Stay away. You'll waste your money. Long an icon for dinner and drinks in Georgetown, MA this restaurant is serving up some great home cooked food like their meatloaf wrapped in bacon on a bed of mashed potatoes covered in an unctuous rich brown gravy! The blacked chicken Cobb salad is also one of my favorites, and the available sushi is made from the freshest of fish and always delicious! Loud political talk from the bartender, mainly just sitting chatting with I guess a friend from outside work. i ordered 3 orders of the dry rub wings, extra crispy. They come out barely cooked and no dry rub. I asked the bartender if we could get some dry rub to put on ourselves. She said no need it's already on it, which it wasn't. I asked again, she acted pissed off and went to the kitchen. She came back out and literally said well we don't have any today that's why it's not on them, but here's the recipe for what he uses if you want to take them to go and make it yourself. My family and I have been here a few times in the last 2 months. We tend to visit around 5 on Sundays to take advantage of the free kids meals. We've tried most of the sushi, chicken fingers, pasta, nachos, fries, truffle fries, Philly cheesesteak, fish and chips, and kids avocado sushi. Completely blown away by the taste, quality, and variation of the sushi. Have not had a bad selection yet. Food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. Beer and wine menu are perfect to find the right selection with your meal or try something new on tap. Environment is laid back and kid/family friendly. Only drawback would be the slow service at times, which keeps it from a 5 star. Great food, never a wait to seat, and super friendly staff. Just be prepared to be there for a bit, but it's worth it. Update: Needed to take off a star. Recently the wait service has gotten painfully slow. What's worse is they don't seem to care. No updates on your meal or checking back on drinks. What's worse, just got take out and the food sat while the manager/hostess was busy socializing with the rest of the other employees. To top it off the food looked like jt was thrown together from scrap My faith and a star in the spot are restored. This is a small place in Georgetown Center that has a varied selection of food from the usual selection of appetizers burgers Sandwich's and Sushi. The food is good and reasonably priced the staff are friendly and accommodating we were there on a Tuesday and there was a live band which was comfortably loud enough to be heard but not deafening the only negative I have was it took almost an hour for our food to come out which was only two burgers but our waitstaff did point out their take out was quite busy .....while others around us,who arrived after us us we're getting entree's so not sure what happened there but other than I'd recommend this restaurant read more

Let me tell you something... When you're paying $50 for one entrée, a sandwich, and a cup of soup, you better believe it's not wrong to expect decent portions and hot food. Went for lunch; love that we can still eat outside. Not a great atmosphere, but for me no points off for that- I just enjoy eating outside. We were seated promptly, and the restaurant was steady but not overly busy. When I would try to ask questions- I felt like I was talked over by our server. Have to say today's dinner was the worst we've had here. The steak tips, cooked medium for the hubby and mine was requested medium rare but was more medium, were both chewy and not tender. The hand cut fries were warm and soggy, not hot and crispy and my broccoli was more like crudité vs steamed. We've been to The Spot a few times, but don't really plan to return. Service was fine, we never had a problem with that. Food was okay, I've had worse, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. The cocktail list is meh, seems dated. The whole menu seems to be a reflection of what was trendy 10 years ago. The seating isn't super comfortable, and the last couple times we went we were seated very close to families with noisy children, which is probably fine for people who enjoy family joints, but not for us because we don't have kids. The sushi is the only exception to all of the above. The sushi is great, although we noticed some recent changes to the menu with less variety. If we were to return, it would probably to get a couple sushi rolls for take-out. read more

The crispy peppers was a nice touch (to me the actual star of the plate!) .- Fish Tacos: The tortilla was soft... too soft. I did not appreciate the texture since it felt too cold and it felt apart when trying to eat it. The fish was ok (perhaps a little bit bland) so we ended up only eating the fish. .- Impossible Burger: We ordered the Impossible burger but with the regular bun, not with the one they normally serve it. We indicated that we did not consume dairy so we did not want cheese. Well, the burger came with cheese. It was easy to remove so we did not complain and simply eat it. The burger was overcooked. The Impossible Meat is not exactly cooked as regular meat so my assumption is that it was cooked as a regular burger and that is way it was overcooked so too dry. I have to say that the sushi they were serving looked amazing! The BEST part of this review is that I tried using their online wait-list, but due to the size of my dinner party I had to call. The gentleman I spoke with was most helpful, took all my info and made the reservation for my party of 10. I arrived way early in order to unwind from a stressful day. Separate checks were not an issue - that helped. Let me add that the place was moderately busy with a noise level I haven't experienced in a long time... Serving 10 its understandable.. Anyway, I had ordered a roasted beet salad. It seemed like they'd opened a bag of greens and just dumped them , adding a few chunks of beets, some crumbled goat cheese and voila.. BORING and I'm sorry to add tasteless.
