First of all I should've read all the negative reviews on this place before going there! I was out with family having a good time at a place that I've never been. I'm attempting to walk up a flight of stairs where people are standing and I go to reach for the railing and my hand touches the hand of an individual that's there. This is not an uncommon thing that happens when people are making way through a flight of stairs however on this particular occasion my hand touched the hand of an individual who unbeknownst to me has money in his hand. As I grab the rail touching his hand and the next thing I know I'm being tapped on the shoulder and escorted outside. Not only am I oblivious to what I'm being called outside for, to have a conversation with these people then accused of having attempted to remove what is a $10 bill from this man's hand which by the way I didn't even see all I was trying to do was navigate the stairs and hang on to the rail without falling. So instead of brushing it off for what it was someone brushing your hand trying to navigate the stairs he makes an accusation from an assumption that his little brain concocted saying that I was trying to steal this money out of his hand. Anyone that knows me knows that I'm one of the most honest people that they've met. I have never in my life stolen anything and have no need to still a measly $10 from anyone let alone this caucasian individual who exerted his power instead of trying to ask me or explain to me what was happening. I wouldn't suggest that anybody of any racial descent other than Caucasian frequent this place of business because if you do any natural attempt to navigate a Stairway and hang on to the rail Maybe considered thievery or tempted thievery. Had he asked me or said Excuse me or accepted the excuse me that I gave to him I could have just went about my way. But because he was posted up on the hand rail with his arm and hand up the rail in the way of patrons trying to get up the stairs he comes out with an huge accusation and defamation of my character. Lesson learned: be leery of individuals who are Caucasian standing against a stair rail that you're trying to navigate, needing to hold on to the rail because they may make a slanderous accusation against your integrity and your character. the situation didn't have to go that way because of his position of privilege and Authority as a manager and as a Caucasian individual he Flex that Authority. He made an assumption making an ass out of himself and decimating my character to those who are in the vicinity. He should be ashamed of himself for making such accusations against people that he knows nothing about and if your job put you in a position where you feel that you need to make accusations against anyone who makes an honest gesture of hanging onto a rail then you should probably check yourself. it's people like this guy that make honest people like me lose respect for Caucasian people flexing their Authority and their racist BS! read more

I've been coming to Ozzie's for months and I love this place. I walked in expecting good beer and "meh" food, and I got good beer and really underrated food. It seems like they're really putting a lot of time and expense into doing some upgrades too. Right after I started coming in, they replaced the old horrible carpeting with new flooring throughout, and then they did some painting and upgraded their TV's. For a place that doesn't market themselves as a sports bar, they should! They have a bunch of new big screens, a huge projecter screen, and NFL Sunday Ticket so they can show every game. I went in on a Saturday to catch some college football and apparently they host a group of Nebraska Alumni. There were about 80 people decked out in red having a great time rooting for the Huskers. I saw more Nebraska and WSU fans then Husky fans so they're "rival friendly" as well. They have about 20 taps, mostly featuring NW micro brews, and I'm not a liquor drinker, but they seem to have a wide selection of booze too. And the food? Their burgers may be the best-kept secret in the area. They claim to use Angus beef and hand-form their patties, and they put it on a really nice pub bun (run of the mill sesame seed buns are a huge pet peeve of mine at restaurants.) The portion size to price ratio is great, and this week they rolled out a new menu that has these thin-crust flatbread pizzas on it. Lots of potential. I was talking to a couple of the bartenders and they said there have been a lot of positive changes lately. It's fun to come in every week or so and see something shiny and new. The bartenders will engage you in conversation when it's slower, and when it gets busy it looks to me like they can really crank out the drinks. Friday and Saturday nights can get really, and I mean REALLY packed with mostly college-age kids, so if that's not your thing I would suggest trying them out for football on the weekends, or grab lunch or dinner and a beer. Not sure what's up with the negative reviews lately. Clearly, someone's feelings got hurt. But this place proudly proclaims that they are a "Dive Bar" and that's what you're going to get. It's why I come here. If you're looking for something fancy, corporate, and white shirt, this probably isn't the place for you. This is my new favorite spot in Seattle. read more

Literally broke my ID 3 years ago. Has not been better in between. I also just saw them profile a male friend who was not AMERICAN enough for them. Their stamps tonight were elephants and clearly the the bouncers were of skewed views. So let me explain: I went thru the line to get into the bar. The bouncers literally counted men until they could get to a man of clearly not AMERICAN decent and profiled him. They had another security guard come over and "hold him" to ask him how drunk he was. Then, 3 security guards came up to my male friend and asked him how many drinks he had -- his answer every time was 3. Then two of those men came back in to where I was just past the entrance door and laughed at him saying that kind of man would never make it in. I'm sorry but a bar who first ILLEGALLY broke my South Carolina ID 3 years ago (pictures below) because it was a real ID and unlike Washington state IDs DO NOT BEND has only declined. I am absolutely disgusted by the racism, the profiling and lack of profesionalism this bar has shown throughout my time in Seattle. So, Seattlelites, if you want to go to a bar that literally BRAKES THE LAW by breaking out of state ids and ILEGALLY PROFILES non Americans (aka immigrants and looks to not accept immigrants) and gives stamps in the form of a republican elephants for necessary entry (see picture below) then go to this bar. I have never been to this awful bar and after what happened to me a few nights ago I won't even walk past with out crossing the street. I was walking home with my boyfriend on Sunday night (his birthday) when two guys smoking outside of ozzies, completely unprovoked, started yelling at him "Fuck you, you fucking faggot. You fucking piece of shit faggot. Your dads a fucking faggot." They yelled and yelled and followed us up the block trying to fight my boyfriend. I am SICK of guys like that thinking they can get away with harassing people so I called and told the bartender what happened and we went back to show her who it was. When I tried to enter the door guy (who had been right there when the whole thing happened) said "Nope you're not coming in here, you're not welcome here." I was SO confused I tried to explain myself but he kept repeating over and over "you're not welcome here." As this was going on the two guys again came outside and started trying to fight my boyfriend, the only insult they seemed to have was "you fucking faggot." The door guy continued to do NOTHING. When it escalated even more, the bartender came out and we found out the door guy was doing nothing because THOSE GUYS WORK AT OZZIES. They were drunk off the clock being the worst most aggressive hateful people I have ever encountered but the door guy seemed to think that was just fine! If there is a 25th circle of hell, Ozzie's is the diseased heart and soul of it. This place is so heinous I can't describe the horror. You could easily catch an STD just by walking by this place. The few times I've dared to actually go in there...well, let's just say it makes Peso's look like Bingo night. The clientele consists of horny, obnoxious drunken "dudes", and girls who define the term: "hot mess". The last time I was there, and only there to play the very reluctant wing-gal for a friend, these things happened to me: 1. some drunken girl was wildly and inexplicably swinging her gigantor hand bag and took out my weak vodka tonic. To be fair, I think she apologized, but her tragic inability to form coherent words at that point prevented me from understanding anything that came out of her mouth. 2. I almost stepped in a pool of what I think was vomit by the women's restroom(deposited there by handbag girl?? Could have been). 3. Got totally left in that hellhole by my friend who drunkenly hooked up with some guy outside the bar...okay, that's not the establishment's fault..but still... GROSS!!!! read more

This is the only really happening place in Seattle...BUT....BIG BUT......I think the economy has really taken a toll on a lot of places including this one. And lot of places are making poor choices on hiring low quality help. This place suddenly has an obnoxious DJ that is damaging the entire club format. He just starts blasting his crappy music that shouldn't be played anyway. But he obviously is trying to run both karaoke DJ's out, which ain't going to happen. I've been coming here since 2002 and karaoke is one of the main deals here. I personally think they could have a 3rd karaoke DJ or nothing and they'd be much much better off. Or soon they'll chase away the few customers that are starting to come back. The other possibility is to have a door between upstairs music and the DJ. I mean how could you possibly have 2 songs blasting at the same time? Is that like a new concept or something? This bar sucks even as a dive! We were regulars at Ozzies for Karaoke every sunday for months. After taking a few weeks off we return to find that the only decent server the place has doesn't work there anymore. We went in last night, it was a little slow, smelled as bad as usual, and the drinks are now weaker than before, and cost $6.00 for a well!!! We waited nearly 40 minutes for a waitress, then finally went to the bar ourselves. The waitress finally came to our table 3 hours later. CLUELESS! In our party of 7 we each had about 4 drinks, none of us even felt a buzz, and the total of all of our tabs was over 300.00 with tip. This place is a joke. We visited Ozzie's recently and even though we didn't end up doing karaoke, we were really impressed with the whole experience. The food was excellent--we ordered the New York strip, baked potato, classic fries, and the Thai chili wings, and everything was seasoned perfectly. Nothing tasted bland or underdone; it all hit the mark. One thing we loved was the contrast between the two sides of the space. The dining room gives off a more intimate, relaxed vibe, while the bar side feels lively and energetic--almost like a built-in party. We grabbed a booth by the bar, and the atmosphere there was dope. Big shoutout to our waitress, Amanda. She was extremely polite and her service was truly impeccable. She made the experience even better. Overall, Ozzie's is definitely worth a stop--great food, great vibes, and great service. Would absolutely go back! read more

Do you like paying $12-14 a pitcher for domestic beer while simultaneously getting your ears raped and wallowing in filth? If you do, then Ozzie's is the place for you!! First you must get past their fat, hideously ugly bouncers. They make up for their lack of genitals by hating women and minorities. Once you get in you will notice the distinct aroma of vomit, B.O., and semen. This is from all the brohams in there that get extremely excited whenever someone sings Don't Stop Believing. You can expect to hear that song at least 5 times any given night. You can replicate the Ozzie's experience at home by burning a $50 bill, throwing feces all over your apartment, and running a blender filled with glass and marbles. I'm sure the wait staff is excellent, but this is more commentary about the people this place attracts. Ozzie's embodies every creepy predator verging on rapist fratboy, girl falling out of heels, beer/vomit soaked carpet aspect of every bar I've ever been to. I never thought I could loathe a place more than Earl's on the Ave, Dante's or Trinity. Not to mention the whole place smelled of feet because of the perpetually damp carpet (why a bar would EVER have carpet is beyond me). After a great day at the folk life festival a group of friends and I decided to head to Ozzie's to end the night with some karaoke, If I could score this place a zero I would. I was discriminated against at the door because I had an I.d. But no passport, when did this new rule come about that I need both an I'd an a passport? When I asked to speak to a manger he said he was the manager, I really hope that this is not the case. The manager should know all of the different state ids if he is going to be at the door. IF YOU VALUE YOUR OWN SAFETY - DO NOT COME HERE. As I walked out of the bar a stranger grabbed my shoulder and I proceeded to push him away as I was already leaving. I was then brutally assaulted by two security guards and was punched in the face multiple times and left with a broken nose among other injuries. Never once did I attempt to fight them. One of the better karaoke places in Seattle. The only problem (similar to other karaoke clubs) is that all you hear is obnoxiously loud vocals. I've been going to karaoke bars for 10 years and never heard of a complaint about loud karaoke music; it's always about loud obnoxious singers. If the singer is bad then the customers can at least enjoy a nice solid music-track. If the singer is good then it can sound like a live band. Great place but I wished they would bring back the old wait staff. The new waitresses and bartenders just stare at you and frown. There must be thousands of staff looking for jobs and they hire unfriendly people that think you owe them something!!!!!
