It's like Denny's and a bar interbred. This place is interesting, it has decent breakfast options, but it's more of a bar that serves breakfast than a traditional diner. There are signs all around that could be considered controversial, but thankfully they have outdoor seating if you don't want to be inflicted by that. We stopped by 5 Point Cafe for breakfast and left full. It's technically more of a tavern with 21+ indoor seating, but families are welcome to sit outside which makes it a good option if you have kids with you. The short stack was $10.60 and a good size to share. You get a 3-stack portion, and the pancakes were fluffy and filling. The chocolate chip pancakes were even larger for $13.40, also served as a 3-stack. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and liked that they skip the English muffin so you really get to focus on the crab cake itself. I added avocado for an extra $4.25, and they gave a decent amount spread across both crab cakes. The crab cakes were cooked a little more than I would've preferred, so they had a crispier texture and taste than expected, but overall still flavorful. The side of hash browns was $7.20 and came in a decent portion. One thing to note: there's also a 5% service fee added to the bill. Overall, the portions are large, prices feel fair for Seattle, and it's a fun casual spot if you're looking for hearty brunch food with a tavern atmosphere. Service was great! Had a party of 6 people who were ready to support a local mom-pop - 5 Point Cafe was a hit for 2 people and a huge miss for two. Apps and drinks - cheese curds were good (4 of 5) The jalapeño poppers were a 1...Cafe Five infused habanero into the pepper to a level that nothing else could be tasted. Beers were fine, margaritas were bad. The Ruben was the best of the 6 dishes...a solid 4.5 for diner-type meals. Biscuits and gravy was a close second - gravy was good, biscuits were meh - hard and dry. The Dick Burger (that's the literal name) was pretty good as well (a 3). Fries were soggy, like squeeze out liquid kind of soggy for some of them. The country fried steak was very promising, but it came out kinda cold. Flavor was good, temp knocked down the rating. The place was clean, the music was loud (but not obnoxiously loud), and the inside ambience is cool. When looking for late night foods in Seattle, there's really not a lot of options. This is particularly the case after 3 AM, but that's where this cafe shines as the light in a sea of darkness, welcoming in people from around the city who just want sustenance after a night of mostly alcohol. It serves comfort food - classic breakfast diner items that can bring a person back from the dead. The eclectic fellows that inhabit this establishment in the wee hours of the morning come in all shapes and sizes, but they just have one goal - eat something greasy and satisfying. That's where this place delivers. I ended up here at slightly after 3 AM - and it was pretty packed. All the tables were full, and we were considering leaving after about ten minutes when one finally opened up. The servers are incredibly busy, and it took us about 15 minutes to actually get our order in. I got the cheese curds as my meal. These were easily the best cheese curds I've ever had. In Seattle, I've had a few instances of cheese curds that are relatively sad on the inside - they have a decent fry, but fail on the cheese aspect. That's absolutely not the case here. This cheese is amazing. It's the perfect level of squeakiness, and the stretch is unreal. It has a very unique flavor that you'll only find in cheese curds, that soft yet milk-like taste that's so addicting. It was melty, gooey, and hot inside. The taste was just pure heaven - I was shocked at how good these were. The fry on the outside is also so good. It's light yet so crispy; a beautiful golden brown that produces an amazing crunch when you eat it. Just phenomenal. The sauce provided with this was solid, but honestly I didn't even need it as the curds were amazing by itself. I tried some of the chicken fried steak as well. This was fine. The scrambled eggs were decent, but the hash browns felt a little limp and soggy. The steak itself was pretty average. The prices here aren't too bad either - my cheese curds were around $16, but the portion size was more than enough. Overall, this is a true late night classic that serves pretty great food as well. 8.75/10 read more

So unusual to find a place that's open 24 hours and it's in a great location near Seattle Center. Food was excellent but it was a little slow to come out. We must have been there at a busier time because shortly after we got our food, a bunch of tables cleared out. I have never had this experience, but they wouldn't let us bring our reusable water bottles in and had to leave them outside. They were hidden away and fine but have never had that happen before. Lots of interesting decor inside. Tables are close together and the people around us were quite loud but it did get much quieter once some of the people around us cleared out. For instance my daughter asked for iced coffee our waiter said "ya but it's just regular shit drip coffee" haha. Better be ready and know what you want to eat. I thought everything tasted good. First off, don't let the ratings get you. This is a dive bar, so don't expect anything less. However, we had a great breakfast with the most awesome bartender/server, Steve! Music was so good - 90s hip hop, best vibes. Food was really good too - we got the classic Benedict, custard French toast, gumbo, and cheese curds. The cheese curds are out of this world, especially with the honey - Even the aoli it comes with is so good. Highly recommend the pitcher of mimosas and $6 mystery shots.. it's never too early to drink when you're visiting! Spot gets busy, but for us it's worth the wait. It's a little tight inside, but I think it's cozy. Steve was amazing, not for the faint of heart for sure, but we know what we signed up for. He works weekend mornings if you're looking for him! We put our names on the waitlist and waited patiently, only to watch several parties who were behind us get seated before us. When we asked why, we were told they assumed I was under 21 and because I'm pregnant. That explanation was completely inappropriate. Instead of making assumptions about someone's age based on their appearance or pregnancy, your staff should simply ask for ID if there is any question. To make matters worse, the hostess I spoke with was extremely rude. She showed no interest in resolving the situation, offered no apology, and just kept repeating her assumption instead of addressing the fact that we had been skipped on the waitlist. What is the purpose of having a waitlist if it isn't followed? This was a very disappointing experience, and the way we were treated felt unprofessional and discriminatory. I hope you provide better training for your staff so future guests are treated with fairness and respect. read more

We visited Seattle in October and this was our first breakfast during the trip. What a way to start! I ordered the veggie omelet made with 3 eggs and accompanied by a side of hash browns, which had me set for the day. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great. The ambiance was very amusing with all of the kitschy signs everywhere we looked. Staff is friendly, but service can be a little slower so I don't recommend coming here if you're in a rush. They don't seem to split bills based on seat, but can do even splitting amongst a party. Music is a little loud, but they have a jukebox so you can pick different music. I came here during lunch, so it would be interesting to check out the vibe at night. Food was ok. I got the chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were basically ones you buy in the freezer section at the grocery store. They provided a generous serving of fries and I didn't end up finishing them. Five Point Café - Downtown Seattle Not really sure where to start here, but unfortunately this was not a good experience. We were on our way to see the Space Needle and wanted something light to eat before continuing our walk through the city. We came across the Five Point Café, which is across the street from an Italian pizzeria, and decided to give it a try. The place definitely has a nostalgic, old-school feel--almost like stepping back into the 1970s, or maybe even earlier. The walls are covered with memorabilia, and while it initially felt like it could be quirky and fun, I didn't have a great feeling when we walked in. Still, we decided to give it a fair shot. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with a cup of tomato bisque soup. At first, the sandwich tasted okay, but very quickly the flavor turned unpleasant and I couldn't finish it. Ray ordered the beef stroganoff and only managed two bites--the meat was extremely tough and basically unchewable. He also ordered hash browns and ate some of those, but overall the food was just not good and honestly not very edible. As we sat there longer, we started noticing cleanliness issues. There was a fan above and to the right of us that was absolutely covered in thick dust and dirt--so much that it was really gross to look at and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. That alone made it hard to enjoy anything. We also noticed some odd signage. On the back wall near the restrooms, there was a sign asking people not to do cocaine in the bathroom. Then, when I later took photos to post with this review, I noticed the front of the menu says "Alcoholic serving alcoholics since 1929." I understand humor and edgy branding, but combined with the food quality and cleanliness, it just added to the overall uncomfortable feeling. When you're visiting a new city, you rely heavily on reviews to help guide your choices, and that's exactly why I write reviews myself--to help others know what they might be walking into. Unfortunately, this is not a place I would return to, and I would recommend passing it up. I genuinely feel bad for the staff and owners, and I hope they consider improving cleanliness and food quality, because this could potentially be a cool, nostalgic stop for tourists if it were better cared for. read more

Love it here! It's a must any time I'm in Seattle. Brought some friends for brunch last weekend, it was their first time and they loved it as well. Food is always good and service is awesome. I always enjoy eating their burgers & fries here! However, the fries weren't as good as last time. Their burgers continues to taste well. Meat is juicy and flavorful and the veggies are fresh. Sauce for the burger is pretty good as well. The fries were kind of good. Usually the fries are crispier and tasty, and the portioning is more generous. The service is good. The waitress was nice and helpful and answered any questions we had. The food didn't take long to make. The ambiance is cool. This is a very decent "tavern" or "cafe" to eat breakfast or dinner or an afternoon snack with drinks. You pick it and you eat it. It's great. Although prices are a little steeper than most, it's worth it! I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger cooked Medium and it was perfect. I added the side salad instead of fries (trying to cut some carbs since I'm diabetic and already had the bun for the burger) plus added a cider drink. We sat outside and it was amazing. Came here for breakfast on our way to the space needle. It was a good breakfast. Good omelettes, and pancakes and great coffee! If you are stopping in here for breakfast, make sure you know that this is more bar than restaurant. Apparently it is open really late and all of the Art on the walls has to do with drinking. There are 1 million stickers on the wall and it is a very cool, counterculture kind of place. Then also have to do good breakfast. lol Centrally located near some amazing tourist attractions. If you are well informed about the club music and adult vibe of the place, worth a try for breakfast! I am myself look forward to coming back here for a beer at some point. read more

The 5 Point Cafe has sort of fun ambience with the neon lights, and the drinks looks good based off the menu (if I go to Seattle again, I'll try some of their drinks since it says alcoholics serving alcoholics ). I think this place is the perfect if you are trying to mess up your diet and sobriety; the amount of food you get for the price is huge! The menu is vast, but the prices don't match the ambiance. Pretty expensive for some diner style food. The food was nothing special to write home about either. The reason we tried it, is because it was a rec from our hotel lobby staff and it was walking distance from our hotel. The staff at The 5 Point Cafe are beyond rude. When I walked to the door to ask how to get on the waitlist, the hostess literally screamed "Get out!" There was a sign asking customers to wait outside, but there were people standing in front of it and I didn't see it. If you want to be greeted with verbal abuse, this place has the vibe you've been looking for. Otherwise, not. I went next door to the Tillicum Cafe, got seated immediately, and had my best restaurant breakfast since COVID. The servers were not just pleasant, but playful and endearing. My husband got the cinnamon rolls and corn chowder and spent the rest of the meal raving about them. I had the spinach quiche. I'm not a fan of gluten, but the crust was crispy and flavorful and I ate every bite. The salad that came with it was fresh and the dressing light, flavorful, and delicious. Guess what? The bill was no higher than if we'd eaten at the Crossroads Food Court. Don't wait in line at the 5-Point Cafe. Really, people. I'm sick of making excuses for restaurants. If they can't stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen. read more

To be honest, my very first experience was less than ideal as compared to my second one, which was so much better. First came here in 2022, when I initially moved to the city and heard it's a local spot. Problem with my first visit was we had brunch in the outside patio and during the day when you can see how dirty the place is. I highly recommend you try this place at night as the vibe changes, and you can't tell what you've actually gotten yourself into. Not to mention the vibe is so much better, feels fun as opposed to the sanitized feel you get in the day time ha ha. First time around we had brunch and it was basically on par with an iHop or Dennys but at a higher octave, loved how chill the place is a and all of their food and drink options. It was the dirty everything for me...also was new to the city so expected some level of customer service only to get none, now I know better. Second try most recently was late late at night, think we got here closer to 2am or so and the post-show, post-club folks were in here. Our order took more than 40 minutes from the time we ordered until we got it. There were a number of folks getting into it with the waiter only to storm out due to the long wait. If you're tipsy or busy chatting you won't notice how long it takes. Just order another drink..lol..You don't really visit a place like this for the customer service or the quality food, it's more for the vibe and late eats. There's not a whole lot of late late night places in the city that are super chill and this is one of them. Plus for the area, fairly affordable. Pretty sure they're short staffed and get slammed after the shows/clubs close, so expect delays. Needless to say, we're fans now, the music was good, the burger tasted better after a long night, and we barely noticed the annoying tourists screaming about their food. read more
