Went to my basement at 6am, and discovered my water heater was leaking. Had the P.A.C. crew at my house a few days ago to change out two hot water tanks. I upgraded from 40 to 50 gallon tanks with both manual and automatic shutoff valves. I requested a quote online, scheduled a day and time. I received a text confirming. I was like great between 2 and 4 someone will be there. I left work early to make sure I was home. My neighbors toilet wouldn't stop running. They called pac plumbing and the plumber came and said they needed a whole new toilet and it would be over $500. They told the plumber to leave! They were telling my husband about it and he took a look at it. All it needed was the rubber stopper flap and it cost $5 at Home Depot and he fixed it in less than 5 minutes. These guys came in and took off my kitchen cabinets leaving my personal items on the floor and spread on my dining room table. The cut a huge 3 x 3 hole into the ceiling to find what I had already told them was a leaking outlet from my tub. When I asked if they would put things back , one of the men sarcastically said "I only came here to fix the leak" They were rude, did not cover shoes and did not wear masks. On what planet does a leaky kitchen faucet cost almost $2000 to fix? Up-selling and overcharging must be SOP for these guys. I asked the plumber if the pullout faucet hose (the source of the leak) could just be replaced. He told me the parts weren't available and it wasn't possible. He also told me we'd need to buy a whole new faucet assembly and completely replace all the drainage pipes (there's no issue with the drainage)... So I called Delta and they're sending me a free replacement hose and instructions for the repair. I'll do the repair myself. In 30 mins. For free. I hate that we still paid a diagnostic fee. PAC plumbing installed a new gas back up generator at my home. They provided a turn key operation including the architect, electrician, and they did the plumbing they even provided a concrete pad. All I had to do was be home to let them in and pay. The price was a little more than other contractors who suggested I hire my own subs and do all the leg work myself I would gladly pay a few extra bucks and let them handle it all. I love my generator and have peace of mind if a blackout should occur Thanks guys read more

I looked at many companies on the island and decided to work with them because they have a helpful automated system for pricing and seemed decent. However, worst decision I ever made. They are very fussy about work times, they don't work on weekends or evenings. The owner had the audacity to question if I work during those times. No I don't but I'm not in he HVAC business, bud. Second they are much more expensive than other companies. Usually you pay more and you get better service. Not true with these folks. For one job I had so many visits just for them to only fix the issue 75%. Worst of all they have zero emergency services although they claim to be on call and so good luck if you're freezing in the middle winter with a small child at home. read more

Description of work: On 21 Nov 2016, I scheduled PAC to have my tankless water heater descaled and to get an proposal on a larger project that involved low water pressure to my fixtures. They charged $1,257.25 for the descaling, which is very expensive for 2 hours work but I paid it in good faith as I was anticipating the proposal on a larger project. Then the nightmare began. Since 21 Nov 2016 until 28 Dec 2016, I had been calling and emailing for the proposal -- almost twice a week. I got several excuses and an email back from the owner saying we will get back to you next week. I just gave up. I feel taken for paying the high price for the descaling as I thought I was going to get professional follow up with my larger proposal. This company does not follow up and has horrible customer service. I would not recommend them for any project as given their dealing with me, you will just waste your time and money. read more

In August 2021 PAC replaced and installed my entire HVAC unit. During the installation their employees damaged my kitchen floor with a huge scratch and broke off a piece of my wall. The owner Paul gave me his word that he would fix the damage his workers had done. Its now November 2021 and he is avoiding my husbands calls and is not returning any messages. The people answering the phone have made it clear that they are tired of hearing from us and basically care as less as the owner Paul. This is Completely unprofessional. In addition I had been so patient with this company for everything I was put through upon them installing the unit. My hvac unit went out 1 week after installation and was told they don't have weekend service so i had to go an entire weekend in the August heat with kids and no AC. They sent someone to fix it and guess what the following week it didn't work again. Finally the third time they figured out that the freon was leaking due to improper installation. Still I was completely understanding until I got jerked around for weeks and still they had yet to fix my floors and wall. So my husband started to deal with it and still Paul has not honored his promise of fixing the damage that his employees incurred while installing to unit. I paid for a service and if the company damages anything it is not the customers problem to pay for it to be fixed, if the company is professional and honest they would fix what they broke end of story. If you hire these guys better plan on robbing a bank before they come! Ok, so I was lazy after the snowstorm, worked long hours, shoveled everyday when I got home, so I called to have PAC change my bathroom sink which I had in a box. They came and quoted me MORE than I take home for a weeks pay! Are you kidding me? After I sent them away, I went to Lowes and both PVC adapter and plumbers putty for less than twenty bucks and changed it in one hour by myself, and I am not a plumber! The worker who came was a nice guy, his boss, Eric, made the quote on the phone without seeing how small and simple the job was. I tried to explain to him over the phone but he was rude and adamant. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! Paid them $347 in April 2019 to maintain our perfectly working central A/C unit and Furnace this fall. The tech that . came over to check our A/C unit did everything he could to break it. We had been using the Unit for 2 weeks with no problems. The tech comes inside after checking the compressor outside and tells us there is a loose wire he had to put back in and now the compressor will go on, then off once and then go on again an stay on. What???? The tech did nothing else except get his calculator out in my kitchen and give me a 20 minute sales pitch telling me I needed a new central A/C Unit and figuring out how much I would have to pay PAC for it. As soon as that tech left our A/C Unit stopped working correctly. I had to set the house temp to 69 degrees (way lower than I ever had to) and the house temperature would rise to 90 degrees and I'm not kidding. We were dying in the house of the heat. I called them everyday and then got lied to by someone named Theresa telling me that if they have to put freon in it I need a new Unit. Then they sent a foreman over and he supposedly put freon in it and that lasted for about 2 days and no sealant so the freon just went in and flew right out and then again the house temperature was going even higher - to 100 degrees. Me, my 2 babies and animals had to go to Westfield NJ to stay at my parents house and my poor husband was left here waiting for PAC to decide if they were going to come over and fix what they broke. Instead I called another HVAC contractor who had been maintaining our central A/C unit for 8 years ( it was only 8 years old) and I should have kept using him instead of calling PAC and he is honest and has integrity and told me PAC was a bunch of corrupt liars. There was no loose wire in the compressor. If the foreman put freon in he didn't put sealant over the tiny pin hole we have (the PAC foreman told my husband sealant is not made which is a lie) and our original honest contractor fixed what PAC tried to break but we had to stay in a house with a unit that we had to turn off because it was "short cycling" going on and off every 5 seconds and the compressor would have broken. Now it's working perfectly again and we called up Capital One Bank to put in a dispute yesterday for the $347 we paid to PAC to maintain our central A/C which they tried to break but we caught them in time and to maintain our furnace which they are never going near. Our original honest contractor will be taking care of maintaining our furnace in the fall. And we had to pay our original contractor who put 2 weeks of calls behind us when we called about what PAC did and we were dying of the heat and come over to our house instead $670 which PAC will be paying by money order (we do not trust their checks) 10 days from a letter we mailed to them yesterday. If they do not pay we are taking them to small claims court and our original honest contractor told us he would go with us. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THESE CREEPS. THERE ARE HONEST CONTRACTORS OUT THERE WHO DO THEIR JOB HONESTLY AND DO NOT PUT PEOPLE THROUGH WHAT PAC PUT US THROUGH. read more

The tech came and diagnosed the problem of a backed up sewer line as a toilet paper issue. Charged me $400 to fix the issue. Within hours the problem was back and no one used the toilets. Too expensive, and they didn't solve anything. Almost had my finished basement destroyed due to their incompetence. read more

Well, my sweetie called them for an estimate that said would be less than a hundred dollars to "look" at the problem. He came in and banged holes in my ceiling, couldn't find the pipes for one bathroom, and initially told us that our toilet wasn't "set" right and that was causing the leak. "checked" it again and said he had made a mistake, especially after hearing my boyfriend tell him several times that the bowls were newly installed, less than a year ago. Then he priced all the work he "might" have to do at $1200 and charged us $280 for having to break holes in our walls and not tell us anything definitive. Definitely not calling them back. The only reason I called this company was because of it's proximity to my home. However, they wanted $7900 to replace my broken oil heat boiler with a gas heat boiler, & it would take Paul a few days to get the job done. I found SI Plumbing. They did it charging me $5500 & got it done the next day (started work at 7:30am, gas heat was up & running at 6:45pm) + extra 300 to remove the oil tank from my basement & clear & clean the basement the way I had it (well worth the extra 300). read more

I have been using P.A.C. Plumbing for the past 2 years and have a yearly service agreement with them. They come out each year to check that the furnace and the air conditioner are in proper working order and they do any cleaning or repairs that are required. The service was preformed at extremely high price, almost 3 times what it should cost. The sales representative on the phone claims that he cannot give you an estimate but you must commit to their "diagnostics" fee which is $150. Once this arrive and perform their "diangnostics", they slam you with whatever fee they want because you are already on the hook. And they laugh into your face. VERY PREDATORY PRICING!!
