Alain couldn't be more helpful or knowledgeable about the products he sells and his guidance proved invaluable to my wife and me as we really only had very basic knowledge the items we were looking to purchase. Alain showed us different models, compared them to each other and pointed out the pros and cons of each, for our application. We had delivery and install today just a few short days from our encounter and both went extremely well with both teams of installers providing a clean and professional installation. Instore- As my husband and I entered the store, a woman worker watched us and bend her head down, avoiding eye contact when our eyes made 4. No one greeted us for at least 20-30mins. Probably because they didn't thought we can afford anything in the store. Thankfully Eric saw us. He helped us purchase our first washer and dryer and a new fridge. Delivery - Two Mexican men was absolutely rude when delivering our fridge and dryer. The incounter not pleasant. They dropped the dryer not where it was supposed to be even when I showed them. Making me have to push the dryer myself. They told us our fridge could not fit in the door however we can pay them 150$ to move the door so it can fit, or they can leave it outside my house for me. I have had one of the WORST experiences with PC Richards. If I could give 0 stars to this business I absolutely would. I ordered a $4000 fridge 2 months ago that the business has attempted to deliver on 3 different occasions. Each time the fridge that arrived to my building has had dents and visible defects on it. I've had to reschedule the delivery each time for this reason, hoping that things would change with the next delivery, but its all the same. It was time to replace a 35 year old wall air conditioner. I was not looking forward to it and dreaded buying a new one. Salesperson Randy, and I think he was the manager Richie, were wonderful and made it so much easier to find what I needed to cool the whole downstairs. I wished I had made the move to buy a new one sooner. I ended up buying a Friedrich 24,000 watts and it fit the old hole in the wall fine. So, unfortunately, I wrote this almost a month ago and never got around to posting it. This was my experience with this PC Richard: If you choose to go to this particular store, make sure you find a competent and knowledgeable sales person among the clueless and incompetent imposters who try to pass themselves off as a legitimate sales person with actual knowledge. Not sure what their hiring requirements are, but it seems that they are not picky when hiring low-level staff. Make sure that the sales associate has some knowledge and competence. They are pretty much all incompetent and unprofessional in that store, and above all, STAY AWAY FROM STAN!!! Stan is worthy of "The Worst Sales Person of the Year Award!" He will give you details on the product that he will make up just to push it, and then when you get it, deal with it, he cannot even competently resolve his own mess. He is clueless about products he sells, and WILL MAKE THINGS UP! Do not trust him! We went to buy a portable washer, Stan blatantely lied and said that it has 4 wheels, but he was unfamiliar with this model and couldn't even tell us that those 4 wheels are so small and defective, that the machine is impossible to move around -- keep in mind we were looking for portable one. I called the store, Stan didn't even speak to me, put me on hold without even saying, "Please hold!" The first guy who tried to help us in that store was even worse -- he knew NOTHING about washing machines. How are these people employed? The reason why I am giving this place 3 stars in the first place, and not ZERO that it deserves, is because of an absolutely terrific manager, or actually two managers, Charice and Demora. These ladies are fantastic, and I was really impressed with the way Demora handled this problem. She was very empathetic and very understanding and was going out of her way to reduce my stress. Both of these managers were great and I'm hoping that this issue will be resolved tomorrow as Demora promised to send someone to see what the problem is and make sure that everything is good with this portable washer. I just wish that their salespeople were as professional and as competent as their wonderful managers. Now that I am actually posting this almost a month later, here's an update: So, the washer is aweful. We got ourselves in over $1,000 credit debt believing that Stan over there is an experienced professional who will make a good recommendation. The washer is too huge, I had to remove its 2 front legs because these are larger than the 4 infamous wheels and actually kept preventing the machine from moving around. Two sets of idiotic delivery people who were sent to figure out the problem looked like homeless people who just got picked up off the corner randomly. And now, to top it all off, this machine is nothing but a headache. It stops randomly and has to be restarted, and any "normal" cycle takes more than an hour and a half. By the way, the washer is the GE Portable Washer (GE - 2.8 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Top-Loading Portable Washer)-- I think the only GE of this type at PC Richard. DON'T BUY IT, AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM STAN!!!!!!!!!! If you want to make any purchases, go directly to the management and don't deal with the horrific sales people they hired for some weird reason. read more

Had to deal with multiple attempts to get the new refrigerator to be delivered and had to rip my door way just to fit the refrigerator in. The delivery guys complained constantly how it's not going to fit in when it can. When the old one has the same dimensions. But needed the refrigerator when these pass 2weeks we had to do take out. And today I got the refrigerator and they delivered this to me. I just noticed there were scratches and there wasnt any shelves. There was only the bottom drawers but no shelves. Excellent Customer Service. My invalid mother inlaw needed a new TV and with us living in North Carolina I could only make calls to do this. But I have done business with her local PC Richards before and found them to be very helpful and accomodating which is why when her TV crapped out I turned to them. Typically when orders need delivery they have to come from the Main Warehouse and it can takes days to schedule this but the kind gentleman at this store arranged to have a young co-worker personally deliver it and set it up for her on his way home. BEST PC RICHARDS IVE BEEN TO PERIOD!!!! In the past I've never been impressed with my experience at any another location. You know the routine, lazy or rude sales rep that make you question ever entering the establishment to begin with!! I came into this mill basin location yesterday evening after tirelessly looking for an air conditioner. I thankfully called ahead and was referred to Alfred, who I later learned was one of their top reps! He's been with the company for a few and really knew so much about appliances and how to recommend the best fit for each customer. This was refreshing as there are times when a sales rep is just focused on the sale rather than customer satisfaction. I must admit, I did a poor job of supplying the proper dimensions for my AC wall sleeve. Alfred was more than patient and gave me the best recommendation based on a shotty picture I provided. He gave me his contact information so that I can confirm if the unit was a good fit! I thought this was nice touch as this rarely happens in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, the unit did not fit :-( But when I let Alfred and his coworker Rich know of my failed efforts, they offered to deliver and install a new unit that would best fit! There is currently a heat wave in NYC, so hearing news like this is heavenly! I would refer anyone to this location as their employees really enjoy their job and providing excellent customer service! My family has been going to the store. For over 20 years we've had a good run. I went through to purchase a TV today close to closing and it was opened up by a gentleman at the Kings Plaza location. Suffice it to say I'm not happy when I came home and found that one of the legs for the TV stand was not in the box. OK mistakes happen but this is where my issue comes in. They have contact buyer information, phone numbers how to reach me but I was not contacted. Who does something extra in this town? I was renovating my apartment and needed appliances and air conditioners. I went to the Flatbush avenue location of PC Richards. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. Lon was my sales rep. He was very knowledgeable about the appliances and guided my wife - who had done her homework - to her final decision and even taught her some things about appliance options that she did not know. Lon was far more knowledge than the team at the Home Depot - and thats no knock on the Home Depot. Lon and PC Richards is just that much better. When it came to the ACs, Lon introduced me to his manager who was absolutely expert at sizing my equipment and helping me get the right machines to fit holes in my walls that were customer cut over 30 years ago. Then there is the service. Again, outstanding. 2 months after the appliances were delivered they were finally installed by my contractor and we realized that the stove was damaged. It had been dropped and the frame was bent. Lon set us up for a PC Richards service call (I highly recommend you purchase extended service). The stove could not be repaired. PC Richards could have easily told me that - having delivered it 2 months earlier - it was not their problem. But that's not what they did. They took back the damaged stove and supplied me with a new stove at no cost. Do not buy a Stearns and Foster mattress from P.C. Richards. I spent thousands of dollars on two premium mattresses for my wife and I. One of the two mattresses lost support and got very soft on one side. I started getting very severe backpain. I contacted P.C Richard to file a complaint. They sent down a technician who verified that the mattress was "very soft" on one side. He took pictures which were sent to P.C Richards service department who then forwarded it to the manufacturer. I asked at the time "How can the manufacture determine if a mattress is "very soft on one side from a picture?" I was told that this is the process and there is nothing else they can do. A couple of days later I was told that Stearns and Foster would not honor the 10 year warranty for my situation even though my mattress is only a few years old. P.C Richards takes pride in being a family owned business that operates with honesty and integrity. I had bought my daughter a mattress from MATTRESS FIRM (former sleepys) approximately two years ago which was under warranty and they never honored it they gave us the runaround the mattress sunk in the middle like a cradle (my daughter is 5'5 115lbs). I chose PC Richard to buy my Air Conditioner after I bought a tv from them at a good deal. The brand new unit broke down within a week. I called customer service and I thought things were going well with the exchange process, the customer service rep assured me PC Richard would remove the unit I had installed although they didn't do the original installation. After waiting a week the delivery man showed up with no tools unaware of the arrangements I made with customer service to remove the AC from the window, but he made a phone call told me sit tight someone would be at my apartment later on to remove the unit aAfter waiting a few hours no one showed up I called customer service to see what was going on and a PC Richard employee hung up on me. It took a few more hours of being on hold for someone to tell me a supervisor would call me the next day, now I'm stuck waiting by the phone on a Saturday in the middle of summer with a broken AC short $500. I would've made arrangements to have the the AC removed myself If I knew I was going to be involved in a mess. I probably won't be choosing PC Richard again. I am happy to report that PCRichard did take care of the problem. Not only did they exchange my air conditioner they also installed the unit with the window bracket free of charge. They also reimbursed me for my previous installation fee for the malfunctioned AC.
