I'm not one for raving over franchise restaurants, but for American Asian cuisine, PF Changs, sets the bar high. For one, it is prepared well and you can tell what your eating, unlike some questionable corner Chinese takeouts. Secondly, the food has great flavor, especially the Sichuan chicken, the perfect amount of spice for my tastebuds. Having been to Shanghai and Beijing, I was able to try many of the authentic dishes, and PF Chang does a fantastic job of taking some of these dishes and putting an American spin on it. Do not be mistaken, this restaurant serves more than just Chinese, but other Asian inspired plates, such as pad Thai, Korean bbq, and my favorite Chilean sea bass glazed in ginger soy sauce... I can feel my tastebuds buzzing! They also have a great discounted lunch menu, and gluten free options! The atmosphere is quite nice as well, with a touch of drama from the lighting and wall paper. Easy to order online and was ready when I arrived, about 25 minutes later. Also, like the benefits that come with the rewards program. Entrees are a little more expensive than local places but worth it IMO and I think the rewards program will eventually make up for it. This was our first visit. The service was good, the food was very good. But my kids raved about how much food you get and we were a bit disappointed. My son & my husband both left hungry. I could have eaten a little more, but there wasn't any left. This included 4 entrees, 2 egg rolls and 4 dumplings. The kids said they used to get a large plateful of food and would always be able to take a lot home for next day. We received medium (kind of) metal bowls or plates. The orange peel chicken, the phenomenal won ton soup, the sesame chicken, egg drop soup, and lest I forget the wonderful lettuce chicken wraps accompanied by a sauce created table side as per your individual taste. After waiting for 35 minutes for a table we finally sat down at a booth ordered our food immediately and it took 20 minutes for the lettuce wraps to arrive and then an additional 30 minutes for the food to arrive. We were so disappointed with the wait time for both of food and the table that we will not be returning returning to this restaurant next month when we visit New York again . Even the couple behind us they had ordered prawns and 30 minutes later the waitress came out and said they were all out of prawns they were so upset that I believe them manager gave them a free meal, as they to waited for 35 minutes for a table to sit down .. the food was excellent the service was poor, 4 stars for food and one star for service read more

Went to PF Chang's at about 9:30 on a Friday night. It's not busy at all. We received a very small menu and I commented that I thought it was a late night menu for the waitress said that unfortunately it was their new menu. She didn't seem happy about it either. As a vegetarian I was used to having a whole section of the menu but the only specifically vegetarian entrées were the Buddhist feast and the eggplant dish. the Mo Po Tofu it's always my favorite. I What are the vegetarian lettuce wraps which cost $10.50 and both of my friends ordered the chicken lo mein which was about $.50 more. Their meals were very nice size and the lettuce wraps were very yummy but for the amount of food that you get compared to a full Entree it was a waste of money. Or a few cents more you could get a full meal and have leftovers even. Not sure why the menu was changed especially this close to Christmas but it is what it is. We were in Buffalo for a medical procedure and decided to grab some dinner before heading back towards Syracuse. The service was good, but the food was awful compared to the other PF Chang's we've been to. The fried rice was barely cooked, and for some reason the whole thing tasted like a mushroom. Ma po tofu was soggy, and the brussel sprouts were undercooked. Disappointing considering we usually love PF for its vegetarian options. Also want to add that when we first sat down, we were put right next to the server station, which is fine, except a waiter walked up telling a story to another server and literally said "F**K!" SO loudly right behind my 18month old toddler. My husband was so mad. Another thing that really soured our experience was one of the hostesses. She obviously found my husband attractive, and she kept walking by the table (my back was to her) and making flirtatious eyes at my husband! I didnt notice it, he brought it up. I'm not a jealous woman, but seriously?! It was just so trashy and disrespectful. We were there as a family, we rarely get out with a toddler, and here is this 20 something girl overtly trying to flirt with a guy there with his family. When we were walking up front to get our stroller by the hostess stand, I spun around quickly to catch her doing it again and she immediately looked shocked and turned away, would not look at me even when I told her to "have a nice night" on the way out. She was a very pretty girl, but should stick to single men at the bar. Not make an entire family, including husband, uncomfortable during their meal. Not good. Look, Buffalo doesn't exactly have a lot of choices for Chinese food, but I'd rather go to Gin Gin or Red Pepper over Paul Fleming Chang's. It's inauthentic, overly pretentious, and their menu is super corny with a "journey across China." The food is overly sweet, overly salty, and despite what the waiters tell you, it is not the best won ton soup ever nor is the food fabulous and amazing. The hostess was snooty to boot. Those of you who follow my reviews know that its pretty rare for me to give out a one star review unless something was really terrible. This was one of the worst dining experiences, not because something truly terrible happened, but because a series of 17 unhappy consecutive things happened. I usually think PF Changs is just fine for the times you need to be able to dine quickly in a place sensitive to allergies. I love that they have two kinds of unsweetened iced tea and you can order a pretty veggie-dense meal if you are mindful. It's a chain, which is not my typical go-to, but when you're in Cheektowaga and you need lunch or dinner fairly quick, this works for me. Here's a list of unhappy things that occurred: -I came in while my hubby parked and I seated right away. Even though it was slow and there were lots of tables and booths available, I was seated in a very in-the-way place overlooking said empty tables. -The waiter pretty much ignored me while my husband parked, which is not necessarily the worst thing but being pregnant and hot and thirsty, those five minutes with a drink would have been much more enjoyable. -When my husband sat down, the waiter- who had kind of an aggressive vibe- came over and asked if we knew what we wanted. He watched my husband sit down, came over immediately and demanded to know our entire order. He didn't introduce himself, just kind of barked at us. We ordered drinks and said we'd need a minute. -Literally one minute later, he was back with no drinks and the question, "Can I continue?" I was so caught off guard by the question that I was genuinely confused and offered a puzzled "Continue?!" He replied, "Can I take your order to the kitchen?!" We asked for another minute. -He grumpily and silently dropped off drinks and then never came back. Not for ten minutes. -Then he came back and just lurked with pen-to-pad until we stated our order. -Our appetizer arrived quickly, but was poorly plated and had no dipping sauce. -Our meals came AGES later. They were both new choices for us and were both terrible. We'd asked for Singapore Street Noodles with chicken only (no shrimp, because I'm pregnant) and a lemongrass Chicken Salad. The street noodles had almost not chicken and the salad was basically a head of kale with no dressing and hardly any veggies or chicken. We would have mentioned it but.... -The food runner dropped off everything and our waiter was never seen again until I requested a refill on my tea ages after I'd finished. -The tea was the wrong tea and took another 10 years to arrive. And he never came back to ask about the food once. -I asked for boxes and the check from him as he passed. At the same time, the manager came to ask how things were. But the waiter was RIGHT THERE. So TOTALLY RIGHT THERE. So I couldn't say- this dude is being kind of rude and ignoring me and also this food was not tasty. Because again... he was RIGHT THERE. Being kind of aggressive and jerky. We regretted even taking things home as left overs. It was just terrible, but I feel horrible wasting things. I should have said something then, but felt so awkward. The lady and I went to the P.F. Changs attached to the Galleria Mall for dinner last week. We were pretty disappointed. I used to attend the P.F. Changs in Victor attached to the Eastview mall quite frequently so I came in with expectations as I love that restaurant. I had the Shrimp and Candied Walnuts and she had the Crispy Honey Chicken. Her chicken was extremely dry and over cooked. I ate shrimp shell in more than one bite. The presentation was even sad. Back in the good ol' days in Victor they would bring out the 3 ingredients (Hot Mustard, Pot Sticker Sauce, Chili Paste) to make your own chicken lettuce wrap sauce. Now they just pre-make it for you with out even asking if you like your sauce hot medium or spicy. Doing the little things like making the sauce at the table just made the place feel slightly fancier. IDK. To further that, they put everything on the same plate. The lettuce, chicken and sauce. They used to keep the lettuce on a separate plate to keep it chilled and the sauces would have their own fancy 3 saucer display. The chicken lettuce wraps tasted great, no complaints there but they were presented poorly. We also had the Crab Wantons. Again, they used to put the sauce on the side to keep the wantons crispy and so patrons could apply their desired amount of sauce. Now they drizzle the sauce on the bottom of the plate which was unfortunate because my date ended up disliking the sauce. All in all it was just disappointing. P.F. Chang's used to be a chain that felt like a fancy restaurant that you could bring dates to and enjoy each others presence in a nice atmosphere with good food. My experience this time felt like I walked into a Chinese buffet with a full bar that had servers and cost more money. My meal came to $80 with a few alcoholic drinks. I've had much better experiences with P.F. Chang's. I would recommend giving them a shot but maybe at another location. read more

What happened to this place? Went there for my birthday and it was such a disappointment. I ordered beef with broccoli. The meat was extremely tough. It was not edible. The rice was gummy and way overcooked. The waitress was kind enough to serve me a cup of wonton soup but it was mushy and very salty. The restaurant itself was dark, gloomy and uninviting. There menu is also very limited. I am not blaming the restaurant for these shortfalls. Covid has put a hit on all of these once fine establishments. But the management of these once fine restaurants should strive to bring about some normalization to what they once had. Otherwise we are all defeated by this virus that was thrown our way by a government that wants to destroy us. Stand strong! Go back to what we had. My friend's wanted to try this place out. My boyfriend and I got the deal for 2 people. The egg drop soup taste terrible and the hot and sour soup was decent. The starter we got was the dynamic shrimp. It didnt taste as good as we thought. Our entree was monogolian beef and honey shrimp. The beef was too salty and the shrimp was just terrible. After we got the 2 wonton with vanilla. That was decent. The wholr meal was not worth the money. It cost 44$ plus tax and tip which equal to 52. I believe this is the 5th or 6th P.F. Chang's, between LA and NY, I've visited and the first I can say there will not be a return visit! Our dumplings were evenly split between raw and burnt. While our server was quick to replace them, but how could you serve any food with these obvious problems. My Asian Salmon was dry and tasteless and my guests Spicy PF Chang's chicken shared the same tasteless quality. The cool rice made our dining experience a perfect F! In all fairness, our previous experience at Chang's, in different locations has made it a safe choice in quality food albeit overpriced. This location has many opportunities for improvement. Let me start out by saying that nothing went wrong. We had reservations, there was almost no wait after arriving. Our server was decent, not very attentive, but decent. The decor and ambiance was very nice. My two star review review stems from what can I only fathom is somewhat of a scam. It is in the mall, and what should I expect, right? The food is just laughably over-priced, and nothing special. Some noodles, and chicken for two, plus one drink a piece was around 55 dollars. I don't get it. You can get better fake Chinese food at Red Pepper in Amherst for a quarter the price. I suppose it doesn't look as nice, but I don't know. I need something more substantial. And I know what your gonna say, ITS A CHAIN. Oh well, your right, it is a chain. But I think next time when I want the PF CHANG experience, I'll visit the Wegman's frozen food department. P.S. The food is Americanized, but it's good. The atmosphere very nice. The good thing about chain restaurants is that they are consistent. I ordered the Singapore firecracker chicken. My meal was spice and very flavorful. My only complaint was that the portions were small for the price. My meal came with steamed rice, but I wanted fried rice. The fried rice was $5 extra and it wasn't very good. If you are going to specialize in Asian food, you better have good fried rice! Pros of this place is the service we received was amazing, there server was friendly and checked in on us quite often. Now for the cons, the fried rice was unflavorful and had a off taste to it like it has been sitting out for a while. The broccoli was a crunchy and the sauce was very neutral for the sesame chicken. To sum it up, I would rather go to local Chinese restaurant and spend way less for better quality than to come to PF Chang's again. This is one of my favorite chains. At the Galleria location, the service is always wonderful. Always kind and helpful and attentive. I like almost everything on the menu. Note that the crab won tons are not real crab. Favorites are the honey shrimp and chicken, as well as orange chicken. Could do without those rind slices though! We ended up at PF Changs after walking out of Bar Louie because it was packed and there were no seats available. I was starving, and when I walked in and noticed the (nearly) empty bar, we decided to stay. I have been to other PF Changs locations across the country years ago and when I heard they were opening one up here a couple of years ago I was excited because their lettuce wraps are delicious! Back when they first opened (2009?2010?) I came and it was PACKED, and there was always like a 2 hour wait. Well in my older years I am not much of a "chain restaurant-goer"...not much as in, NEVER (unless somehow forced). Hate chains. So I haven't been there since 2009-2010-ish. So to my surprise when I walked in last night I was shocked that the busy, trendy, hip looking restaurant I once walked into years ago, seemed to only be about 14 - 1/2 full around 7pm. I'm sure this is because Gordon Biersch and Bar Louie are across the street. Just as I would never say "Hey, lets go to PF Changs" if I had my choice of the other two, I'm sure not many others do either. But alas, we stayed and were ready to eat. We ordered the sesame chicken and the spring rolls. The sesame chicken was spicy and accompanied with a tasty sauce along with onions, red peppers, and broccoli. The spring rolls were delish (!!), and accompanied with a scrumptious sweet sauce. We were satisfied with the gourmet-Chinese food. Although we didn't leave regretting anything we had, I probably won't be back anytime in the near future just because with so many other choices around, I can't see myself suggesting this as a destination restaurant. However, if you are stuck in the Bar Louie-no-bar-seating-situation as I found myself in, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend walking across the street for some fast service and tasty Chinese food in a decent atmosphere. read more

I absolutely love the lettuce wraps appetizer and will go back just for this. I ordered the crispy honey chicken and it was ok. I much prefer the orange chicken that you can get at the cheap Chinese places. Our server was awesome and did everything perfect but the restaurant failed her. There were four of us on two separate checks so when we would order food, one group would get food and the others had to wait about five minutes. My girlfriend and I understood this wasn't the servers fault and left her a good tip. The manager recognized this issue and apologized for the inconvenience. I would recommend this place. read more

Poooooor Chilean sea basssss........whoever came up with the recipe totally ruined the fish and needs to go back to culinary school because it totally insulted the fish. I ordered the "Ooolong Chilean sea bass" since the rest of the items seemed like your typical Chinese fast food or value oriented buffet. I couldn't even taste the Chilean sea bass texture. For all I know it could be chicken. This fish would have probably been better served at McDonald's fryer as a Filet-O-Fish (I'm serious too!). The only good thing about this place is the decor as corny as it may seem. They just need to dress the staff up in dragon costumes running around handing out balloons. I had the prix fixe menu and not one item tasted edible. Everything was overly salted or sweetened to the extreme. Seriously I still have and would still like to keep my taste buds. This is the worst restaurant I've been to regardless of whatever cuisine it claims to be. No matter how good of a quality of the ingredients you use or how high of a price you charge consumers, if you can't cook or make a recipe that is edible then it is not restaurant-worthy. I don't want to get in to the details of our trip to pf changs, it wasn't worth the last fifteen minutes of my life explaining it via email to their corporate website - then the error message occurs! Food was ok, we were there for over 31/2 hours waiting for it. While 2 people in our party had to bag what they ordered and leave immediately. Our server was rude towards the end and rarely checked on us. the manager wasn't pleasant either- since she was at our table quite a few times, she should of just ate lunch with us. Overall - better service is needed, food out in a timely manner, and some smiles can make a sour experience turn sweet. read more

This place is one of THE most overrated restaurants I've ever dined at. You'd think that for $14 a plate, something simple like chicken and broccoli would be a tad bit more authentic...seriously, there was absolutely nothing special about my food. We went on a random weeknight, there were probably a total of 10 people in the joint. We sat down and ordered our entrees immediately (no appetizers), yet our food took nearly 35 minutes to come, and it wasn't even piping hot! The whole atmosphere of the place is that of ritzy, Americanized "oriental". The servers were very sloppy looking, and our waitress was just ok. If you're looking to pay for overpriced, totally NON authentic "chinese" food, then this is your place.
