I go here almost weekly. This is what I got for $20 (see picture)! This is a lunch portion of the Chang's Spicy Chicken, but I ordered and paid for a dinner size. This has happened twice now so I don't think it was a simple mistake. Of course, you don't get to see what you got until the order gets to you. And charging $3.50 for one glass of tea or soda? I can see paying that in the restaurant where you're getting refills and one to go, but for one glass? That's ridiculous! Restaurants need to start modifying this. read more

We ordered delivery last night and got the family meal for 4. The food wasn't all that great, and half way through our meal we FOUND A BLACK HAIR in our food. Neither of us have black hair so it was not ours. Very disgusting and disappointed. I've been wanting P.F. Chang's for monthssssss and after this it definitely ruined our date night at home Edit: after almost a week of calling and them showing no sympathy what so ever over the black hair found in my food, I had to repeatedly call to speak about the issue. The first person said they'd let the manager know, wrote my name and number down. A few days go by and still no call. I called them and spoke with the manager, he said he was busy at the moment and would have to look into the issue later. Never received a call back. After a few more day's I called again, another manager answered and she offered me half off... still pretty upset about this considering we threw the ENTIRE $55 meal in the trash because of THEIR HAIR found in OUR FOOD. DISGUSTING and after the way the other workers handled this issue I won't be returning. They made me feel like my issue wasn't their problem and very unapologetic. Came into celebrate my daughter in laws birthday and noticed a table displaying birthday decorations and ask the manager Cheryl how much to have those decorations tonight she said there was no cost and made a beautiful display for our table. OK... so there is sort of a story behind this review. It's really the reason we we ended up at P.F. Chang's to begin with. My two daughters inexplicably bought my wife, their stepmother, a gift card to P.F. Chang's for her birthday. 1. None of us had ever been to P.F. Chang's before. 2. My wife does not really care for Asian food. While appreciated, it was slightly curious. It's the thought that counts right? It turned out to be a revelation for all. We are seated and menus are presented. We all had a hard time choosing what to order. Daughter #1: Besides me, she is the most adventurous eater in the family. She opts for the orange chicken. Daughter #2: Much to her chagrin, there is no Fettuccine Alfredo on the menu. She orders Broccoli and Beef, which convinces me this must be the Asian equivalent of Fettuccine Alfredo. Wife #1 (OK... there is only one): She's not taking any chances. Beef fried rice. Me: Singapore Street Noodles, extra spicy please. Oh yes... I order the Chicken Lettuce Cups as an appetizer for all to share. Lettuce cups arrive. I dig in. Daughter #1 right behind me. Daughter #2 and Wife#1 apparently wait to see that lettuce cups are not poison and wait until we have tried them. This is what I hear... "MMMMM" Nuff said... Food arrives and is served family style. Daughter #2 (aka The Fettuccine Alfredo Kid) surprises me and asks for chopsticks, which she proceeds to use like she was born with them in her hand. What da heck?... I ask, "Where did you learn to use those?" Her response, "MTV" Oy Vey! Food is standard. Decent but not spectacular. The service was slow dining in but picking up take out was worse. I sat there waiting while I had to ask three different people (because the first two said they would check and then disappeared). The service is just lacking in a certain professionalism. They seemed to be disinterested in helping but chatting more amongst themselves than paying attention to the guests. P.F. Chang's is our go to place for some good Chinese food. As a member of their points club we are notified of the manny different specials. The management staff is always friendly and accommodating. The wait staff is generally good as well. The only thing that prevents me from giving five stars is I wish they added some more vegetables on their entrees . This is Chinese food for those who don't really care that much about Chinese food. I urge my fellow Tucson denizens to consider Golden Dragon or other alternatives. PF Chang's seems to suffer from the same inadequacies that damn most chain restaurants to the concentric circle of uninspired cuisine. Upon sampling two dishes here, Sesame Chicken and their version of General Tsao's Chicken, one can plainly see assembly line methods of food preparation at play. Both dishes seemed to have been derived from the same vat of cubed, lightly breaded chicken chunks. That should be OK if sauces and cooking technique could differentiate the final results. Unfortunately, the two dishes come out as slightly different variations. Now let's consider authenticity. Although this place is billed as a new take on Chinese food, it seems they have dismantled two elements that make Chinese food great and unique. Even though we are used to Americanized Chinese food here in the US, there are two elements that, when taken away, transform a wok full of Chinese food into a frying pan full of meat, soy sauce, corn starch, and reddish brow fluid. The first element missing is the preparation of the meat into thin slices, strips, or finely ground so that they are easy to digest, attractive, and amenable to high-temperature stir fry when needed. Battered dishes like Sesame Chicken tend to be in thicker strips to balance things out with the breading. PF Changs missed the mark with the two dishes sampled because they prepped the meat into overly-symmetrical cubes. The presentation of these cubes within the thick, half-opaque sauce reminded me of a big plate of wet puppy chow. The second important element is the use of spices. Although most cooking styles rely on fat for flavor, Chinese cuisine also leans heavily on the use of spices and technique. PF Chang's offerings seemed very light in flavor such that they crossed the line from delicate to blah. As noted, the two chicken dishes didn't seem very distinct and a contributing factor to this was that the sauces for both were thick in consistency but light in its use of spices. Additionally, the garlic noodles were overly mild and slightly mushy. If it wasn't for the use of the word "garlic" in its name, one may not have realized any garlic was used at all. Perhaps they call the restaurant a "Bistro" to imply mild flavors that are well-suited to a delicate European palette. However, a Bistro is supposed to be small, modest, and with a neighborhood feel to it. This PF Chang's looked more like a nightclub plastered with hip Asian themes- none of which looked distinctly Chinese. General Guan Gong was nowhere to be found. To be fair, here is what PF Chang's is doing well. First, the battered offerings were not overly breaded, greasy, soggy, etc. They did a good job developing a very light breading that's so demure it's almost like a thin coating of starch. The frying was skillful and made for good texture. Second, the ingredients seemed adequately fresh. This is typically a big stumbling block with chain restaurants. Finally, they served the rice a separate, individual rice bowl, which allows for proper chopstick scooping directly from bowl to mouth. I admit, Tucson is desperate for Asian cuisine. The tacky, Pier 1 Imports-inspired pseudo-Asian decor should be clue enough that this is *not* the solution. I am mystified as to why there is always a ridiculously long wait except that it seems that they are perpetually short-staffed; as a result, the servers are noticeably (and understandably) frazzled. I tried a different dish everytime a social event forced me to eat here and nothing ever transcended mediocrity. Any resemblance to actual Chinese cuisine has been obliterated in the American translation, resulting in a sort of Blandese whose only flavor is derived from excessive amounts of soy sauce. The food is obscenely overpriced; expect surprises on your bill like $8-$9 drinks. All in all, you can get a better Chinese meal out of the freezer at Safeway. Spare yourself the pain. read more

Excellent service and always enjoy the dark decor with Chinese statues. I go for the Orange shrimp... Tangy and slightly sweet with just a whisp of texture coating .. Could use a dab more heat but I get chilies brought to table. My husband enjoyed the calamari appetizer but I thought dipping sauce tasty but rest kind of like styrofoam. My hubby had the Mongolian beef and thought it excellent. The hot and sour soup ok but no huge raves. Dessert was a bananas foster kind of spring roll with excellent ice cream and a few sliced strawberry and blueberry garnish but perfect to share . This was the dinner for 2 that was about 43 dollars but a good value as we each brought home enough entrees to have another meal. I also enjoyed the blackberry green tea. You may put an advisory on your food for take out. our food ( 2 dishes of honey chicken)was awfully dry, bland no taste and one of the dishes (sweet and sour chicken) was over powered with too much ginger. They were not eatable. My husband called and spoke with the manager, she confirmed she would speak to the cook and refund our money. $50 plus is a lot of money for food that ended up in the trash for take out. It is a day later and the funds havent been returned, hopefully you'll stand by your word and give us that refund. we have eaten many times and PF Changs and never been disappointed, we will never do takeout again. read more

The hot and sour soup was very good, the rest of the food had to have very large amounts of sugar and salt because next day all of us were sick. To top things.......... I gave the server two gift certificates and he used only one towards our bill, the lower value of course. The food is good, not excellent, but the location is convenient and seats large and larger groups easily, so I come here often. Honestly, is Pei Wei in pretty wrapping paper. The Mongolian beef is good, but usually there is more scallion than meat. The crab wontons and mango chutney are however a favorite. I have been know to come here get two orders and some brown rice and have that as my meal. Sorry, I have a thing for carbs. The beef and broccoli is my go to dish. It is always prepared correctly and served very quickly. Coming here during lunch is convenient, but if you come a little after 12, you get the lunch rush and it can take a few to 15 minutes to get seated. I also love eating at the bar. The service is quick and you are in and out in about 30 minutes in a pinch. read more

My husband and I decided to come here for our anniversary since I had a buy one entree get one free. The outside/location of this place is splendid. Our server was nice and overall the meat was awesome. My husband was lapping it up. I would have rated it better if it hadn't been so dark inside like they couldn't pay for electricity. Also, the brown rice was really dry and bland. If you're looking for a recommendation, the Kung Pao Chicken is excellent. The peanuts and vegetables had a nice crunch and the chilies were superb, we were fighting over them. read more

There was 1 bartender at around 7:30 PM Tuesday night, and it was pretty busy with at least 10 guests at the bar and a lively take out business that was handled by the bar. The bar was sticky where I sat, it took at least 5 minutes for him to "get over to me". He said I'll get you started with some water, but that never arrived. After awhile, I ordered and when the food arrived I had no utensils, the runner brought them but no black napkin as others nearby had. The bartender handed me a menu, no suggestions, no comment and then took the order. When it was time to pay no mention of your rewards club of which I am a member. I had stopped going to PH Chang's about a year ago, because the service was so bad I vowed never to return. But I did return last night only to be further neglected. Returned here in April of 2016. Server Shantel was delightful. Once again, we chose to 'graze' and enjoyed a variety of soups, sushi rolls and Chinese-style appetizer items. It's somewhat common knowledge that good Chinese food is hard to find in Tucson. And I know it's especially bad when I look forward to P.F. Changs. Okay, that sounded totally elitist but, come on, Chang's is an uber corporate restaurant. But despite that, the food is good. It is always solid Americanized Chinese. I especially enjoy ordering the staples (sesame chicken and orange chicken). What I like most about Changs is their accommodation of large groups. We recently went with a large group of friends (14) and they were able to get us in relatively quickly despite it being a busy Friday night for them. On top of that, the service was impeccable. I commend them for that for sure. It's always nice to have a go-to place like Changs for large gatherings. I'm always surprised how packed this place is. It makes me a bit sad that other lovely places (like Yukari) are so dead while Changs has people lining out the door. Local is always better people! read more

We order the family style plate wich supposed to be 24oz (2 dishes) and all we get was little pcs of "chicken" like popcorn :( same amaizing flavor but for sure less quality of meat and less portions. This is the date night Asian restaurant for my wife and I. It is an Asian favorite of ours. The food is rich and flavorful, the drinks are good, and the desserts are tasty. Some of the items on the menu are very inventive, but for the most part, you will find the tried and true American Asian dishes. We went here with my parents because PF Chang's is one of very few restaurants that has a gluten free menu. Normally it is hard to go out to eat because a lot of servers and cooks aren't familiar with Celiac disease (http://www.celiac.org/cd-main.php) and they often don't get how important it is to ensure something doesn't have gluten in it. (it is getting much better though) The food was pretty good, certainly not the best asian food we've ever had, but it was respectable. This place used to serve good food. Key word being used to. We stopped after church for lunch. I ordered an appetizer of pan fried pork dumplings. They were kind of tough as if they had been "refried" instead of made fresh. Which makes no sense because this place opened about 30 minutes before we arrived. For the entrees we had Pepper steak and combination fried rice. The pepper steak with bell peppers and onions must have been ok because hubbs didn't complain. The combination fried rice could have been better. It contained beef, pork, chicken and shrimp all of which was kind of tough instead of tender. Is this worth an extra 3.00?! I didn't think so due to the quality of the dish. I ordered a molten lava cake to take home. I should've known that the dessert would not redeem the meal but I wanted to be optimistic. I split the dessert with the husband. I divided the cake and the ice cream with berries. The berries were frozen or mushy, the ice cream was nothing to write home about and the cake was dry without the promised molten center but even worse it contained a lock of curly dark hair. OMG!!! Horrible service. Gabby was non-conversational, never asked how our meal was or if we wanted dessert (or anything for that matter). No customer service skills at all, but half way through our dinner brought the check - again no conversation or asked if we needed anything else. We don't dine out that much now, it's very disappointing when you do get out and have bad service. She pretty much rolled her eyes regarding my gluten allergy and when I mentioned it (which in the past has been taken very seriously), her comment was "well I have to print out a menu for you" and abruptly walked away - only to return 10 minutes later with the menu. Train your staff to engage and work on customer service. People are eating out less frequently, at least allow them a pleasant dining experience. I will always come here just for the Banana Spring Rolls, that ICE CREAM!?!?! Is just Hawaii on a spoon, it taste like a colada but paired with the bananas it is an explosion on your taste buds. So I ordered some take out online and then picked it up! When I got there I mentioned to the guy that I was there to pick up my order and I said that I had not gotten their emails about a special offer you get on your birthday!
