I live in Phoenix and we have one of these restaurants nearby, but it took a trip to Tucson to meet friends for lunch to finally try the place. RIght up front, I'm usually a lot happier with a local eatery than a chain restaurant, but I've got to give kudos to Chang's. They have very good food, a pleasing atmosphere, and very good service. All in all among the four of us, we tried three different dishes and two different soups. The entrees were all quite good, though the hot and sour soup was apparently a bit too hot. Always good and consistent. One if the go-to places for Chinese food. The Chang's For 2 is a good deal with soups, appetizer, entrees, and dessert. Plenty of food for 2 and we always take some home. They have a large menu with a lot of options including a gluten free section. Although I don't need gluten free, I had the gluten free ginger chicken that had broccoli with it. It was a big portion and I could only eat half so you could get 2 meals out of your meal if you don't eat a lot. I really liked the taste and the chicken and broccoli were cooked nicely-tender but not overcooked. They have a number of booths as well as table seating and a bar. I went to P.F. Chang's today for lunch with my mom. The food was outstanding! We ordered three things thinking we would have leftovers but we ate almost every bite because it was so good. Our servers name was Johnny and he was amazing as well. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We also never had an empty drink during our entire stay. Chang's and have purchased from this location many times, but the order placed yesterday 3/30/21 had far too many errors and since it is a 30 minute drive was impossible to return or pick up missing/incorrect items. We didn't receive the California roll (charge card to be credited after calling). The Mandarin Crunch Salad with Chicken didn't have one piece of chicken. The Honey Chicken had dry chicken with absolutely no sauce and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was supposed to be Sweet and Sour Pork. The two things that were accurate and good were the lettuce wraps and the Hot and Sour Soup. I would have understood if they were busy - but it was 4:00 in the afternoon and they only had 6 tables max in the entire restaurant and the order was called in advance and verified over the phone. $98.00 not well spent. read more

I have been a regular customer for years and my visit today assured that I am done. They have reduced a previously great menu down to a cheap fast food equivalent. Making your tables look hip, doesnt help if your food sucks. Since my long time favorite was removed from menu, I decided to try Kung Pao chicken. Worst Ive ever had...anywhere!! I started with one star just because of our terrible service. It looked like there was only one waiter for our section (15 tables maybe). 30 minutes in and we haven't had our drinks refilled. I had to ask for my drink twice before it was brought out. Maybe it was the Zinburger our waiter bragged about eating then made him sleepy. He bounced back and the service improved to what we expected. No complaints about the food, it was great. Try the Mongolian beef and ask for it spicy. And they have legitimate examples of all the cuisines they represent. So that part is great. A casual warning though... don't sign up for their loyalty program unless you want a bunch of extra email forever. Their marketing firm has no regard for the 'Unsubscribe' link embedded in every message. It's Hotel California all over again. I am sad to drop my stars but last nights dinner and experience was dreadful. Story goes... Arrive at 730pm for dinner on a Saturday, of course weekends are always busy. We get told the wait is 30 mins which isn't bad. So we wait no problem right? Wrong people who came in after my husband and I are called before us as a couple. I go up to the desk and make sure our name is in because now it has hit the 45 minute mark. The hostess advises me I am next to be seated. A lie later we weren't 2 other couples got seated before us. Once we are finally seated our waiter arrives for the drink order, he appears annoyed he has to work. The 2 dine for 40 is now a special menu you have to request and is now 43 bucks and the portions are smaller. Bummer! Our crab wontons arrive and are cold, the soul is luke warm. By this time we are starving so we let it be. Our server only comes by for refills and the table runners are the ones asking if we need anything and how the food was.... Our dinner being served took 1 hour to make with no apology. Someone would have complained to the manager at this time but I assumed they must be busy. I look around the dining area and see couples that were seated after us receiving their food and almost done with their meal as we sit and wait. 2 1/2 hours later we were done with our meal and the restaurant was beginning to clear out. I was very disappointed with the service and mediocre good served to us. I don't see myself going to PF Changs anytime soon. It just was not a good experience. read more

So I call ahead and SPECIFICALLY ask if they have vegan options and am told yes and in addition they will accommodate us with vegetarian options that will be made vegan for us. We get seated and inform our waiter we would be asking for vegan accommodations and he, without even asking the chefs, tells us "sorry we can't accommodate you." Ummmm well we just called. It's been a while since we dined with P.F. Chang's, so my family decided to order from them last night (Jan 1st, 2021) with delivery. The best part of this order was - it arrived on time as promised. All down hill from there: We ordered Orange Chicken, Ginger Garlic Chicken, Egg drop soup and Lettuce wraps. I'm sorry to say that none of these dishes was anywhere up-to-par with what we remembered. The Orange Chicken was overcooked, dry and literally tasteless (no, I don't have COVID), the Ginger Garlic chicken had a HINT of ginger but no garlic flavor, and the Lettuce wraps (usually a hit) were totally unsatisfying (no flavor in the "stuffing". The Egg drop soup was pleasant but not exciting. Bottom line - A LOT of money to spend on a totally DISAPPOINTING dinner. I guess it will be another while until I try them again (if ever). The lunch bowls were just the right size. I made the mistake of ordering the temporal bowl which although was tasty for the shrimp to have tempura batter and deep fried, the veggies didn't need to have tempura and deep fried. It made the dish greasy and felt very overwhelmed deep fried everything in the dish. I think this dish would be so much better with Stir fried vegies and only the shrimp deep fried with tempura batter. The sweet and sour soup was tast. The spicy chicken bowl tasted more like sweet hi ey chicken than spicy chicken... I think they need to work on the ideas behind their dishes more but the food was cooked well if you look past these issues.... We couldn't look past them... Not sure ill be back with so many Asian restaurants out there... read more

Look you know what PF Changs is. It is a chain restaurant that offers Chinese food. I do want to call attention to one thing. They have probably the best happy hour I've seen in Tucson. Went for lunch today at P.F. Chang's on River today. We hadn't been there in years and now we know why. The service by server Josh was the worst ever in Tucson. Barely took our drink order, had to ask for straws, never came back to ask if we wanted refills , and that's just for starters. Didn't hear from him until it was time to get boxes to go and to pay, and that was after I spoke to the worthless manager Jose. Yet we observed him being very helpful to several other patrons. Worthless Manager Jose made an excuse that server Josh just learned his grandfather just died. Hmmm so that's now my fucking problem? No! So worthless manager Jose comped us $11.50 off our bill WOW big flipping deal. It's not about getting something for free. It's about service and good food. So, we ordered an amazing 17th anniversary dinner for delivery through Uber eats, trying to stay safe as I am in a very high risk for severe disease with COVID. We ordered $117+ worth of amazing food but instead were delivered someone else's $28 order. Uber eats did NOT help at all. PF Chang's staff stepped up and not only stayed late to prepare our food for my husband to pick up, but then gave it to us as an anniversary gift, doing something they did not have to do. The manager especially, was so kind and empathetic, again, showing what amazing business ethics and more importantly, what heart the staff has! I'm giving 5 stars for the service we received. Our food was delicious too. I ordered the Ahi Poke bowl...it was fresh, delicous, flavorful. My dinner companion ordered Kung Pao chicken and said it was great as well. This was our first time at PF Changs. The shining star of our visit was our waitress, Gwen. Young and outgoing, she always had a smile. She was efficient without hovering and has a great attitude. She knew the menu, had suggestions and answered all our questions. She got a big tip.
