Pete Hernandez tree service has done a total of 3 jobs for me. The 1st was when a tree fell on my house. He came out that day and explained what we needed to do. We agreed on the price and he called his crew and they came out that day. After removing the tree it started to drizzle and he also tarped my roof for me. My home is surrounded by a lot of old tree and he tol that one tree on the side of my house if it was sruck by lightening that tree could talk out my entire house. The tree was healthy but we decided to remove the top part of to elimate danger to my house. He said he would be out Saturday morning and sure enough they were there and did the job. The last job he did was from the oringial tree that fell on my house. It was a very old and hugh cottenwood tree. That summer the tree branches from 2 separate storms came down causing damage to 3 properties. When removing the branch from my house he told that tree needs to comes down. Pete said the tree was not stable and it will come down during a spring storm. He gave me a price to give my neighor because it was their tree. Although they did not want to take the tree down(it was a hugh job) We agreeded on paying half to have the work done so, I would have no more damage to my place. Pete camout on Thursday as promised to remove the top part of that tree. The removal was kind of tricky because the only way to reach it was from my other neighbors driveway. To my great relief the tree is down and I no longer need to stress about it. Pete is very knowledgable his men are great and when they leave everything is so clean you would never know that a tree was just removed. His pricing is very fair and show up when they say they will. I have never written a review on Yelp, but finally I found a reason I could not pass the opportunity to recognize the work that Peter and P Hernandez Tree did for us. We had a very large Maple Tree in our small backyard. The tree was leaning towards the house when we moved in two years ago. We finally bit the bullet and decided we needed to remove the tree that was a huge risk. I called a few tree services for quotes. Peter came out and chatted with me for twenty minutes, I instantly realized how much experience and pride he takes in his work. His quote was very competitive also, needless to say I went with P Hernandez. The tree has limbs hanging over our house, our neighbors house, our fence and power cords! I was very nervous. The crew came early on Saturday morning, six men which I didn't expect. They had two large cranes and all other equipment necessary. The men were very experienced and efficient at their roles (from crane operator, chainsaw, to clean up). It took all day, but they completed the job and you couldn't even tell that they maneuvered a very large crane through a narrow alley when all was said and done. Some years ago he took a tree down for me and he was one of two companies that had a crane large enough to remove a tree from the corner of my lot with no access from either of my neighbor's lot nor mine because it was behind my pond. He not only took the tree down safely, quickly and easily but he was less expensive than all the other estimates I received. They cleaned the area perfectly after the removal. Today they removed a dead branch hanging over my neighbor's backyard from one of the largest trees in Winnetka. Yep, 13 feet round at the base. Pedro the owner of the company was the one to use the man basket of the cherry picker to remove the branch quickly and safely and they cleaned the area of all debris. I saw a recommendation on Nextdoor for Pete Hernandez and since I'd been wanting to have some bushes and a small tree removed I gave him a call. Now I also called a few others who wanted to send out arborists. I decided that sounded too complicated as I just wanted them gone. Pete called me back and came out the next day. He met with my husband and me. Since we had a small fenced yard we were concerned that they may not be able to get the equipment into the yard. He said that it wouldn't be a problem to remove the fence and then put it back. We chatted for a while and he gave us a reasonable price for removal. I had some work done at my moms house last summer and that was extremely more expensive. Pete and his big crew trucks and equipment came out. Pete is friendly and outgoing and so was his crew. Within a few hours the bushes were gone, the tree and stump were gone, we had some extra firewood and the wood fence was put back in place. I highly recommend them. read more

I decided to add a review after a great experience with Pete Hernandez Tree Service. I have been using Pete for a few years and have had him work on my property as well as my mother, brother, brother in law, etc During his recent visit we had him remove some trees. During the removal his crew accidentally dropped a limb on a patio chair and broke it. We didn't notice it until after they were paid and left. I called Pete and sent pics and he immediately apologized and within a few days he came out and reimbursed us for the chair replacement. This is the kind of honesty that is rare these days. Even considering the chair replacement hassles I have to say accidents happen and I am so pleased Pete was honest and did not hesitate to settle it with us. Our enormous (70' high, 6' diameter) double leader Oak was failing, and it would be a tricky removal: one loomed over our house and the other leaned towards our neighbor's home. We chose P. Hernandez Tree Service because Pete was quick to give us a fair quote, distinguished by the number of machines, men and method that would remove the canopy from the top and protect both homes. Pete Hernandez and his crew are amazing! They did an outstanding job taking down a dead birch tree in my front yard and ground the stump. They also trimmed 3 mature maples and a pair of gigantic cottonwood trees on my property. They were having a great time while working showing much enthusiasm and keeping me updated on the progress. They cleaned up extremely well and left my yard looking fantastic!! I highly recommend Pete and his crew if you need tree work done. Their price was extremely reasonable. I had P Hernandez remove a tree and stump from my back yard. It was in a difficult area to get to. There were power lines going through the branches, and our house and the neighbors house on either side. His crew found a way to get the job done and in a timely manor. They arrived at 8am and were done with cleanup by noon! The tree was almost 3ft round and loomed well over my house and the neighbors. So thankful they were able to remove the tree for us! I had at least 4 other tree removal services come for estimates, and would not even provide one to me, because they were not able to do the job. We just moved into our house which had several overgrown trees too close to the house or with branches on the house. We had several trees removed and some very large trees trimmed. I am simply amazed at the work P Hernandez Tree Service did. They knew exactly what they were doing and when they left, not only was the yard cleaned, it was so well done that you couldn't tell it was covered in tree branches a short time ago. P. Hernandez Tree Services is the amazing. Pete Hernandez is not related to me, although we do share a last name and I could sure use a relative with his skills. We have used his services on two different occasions. I firmly believe that no one knows more about trees than Pete. He and his teem is courteous, polite and super efficient. We used Peter today for a large Oak that has been dying for a few years. We have a protected back yard which makes it difficult for companies to bring in their cranes and other equipment. We had several estimates at double what Hernandez charged. And one said "It was too dangerous". Really? These guys were fantastic. 7 man crew. Experts! Watching them take down this thing was an engineering marvel. 100 year old Oak was gone in a few hours. Stump too. And they removed another dead tree for only $100 more. Quick, Efficient and spotless. The Hernandez company came in desperate needs of assistance, my tree was rotting from the inside out and split in two pieces. We had three Ash trees that needed to be cut down-one of them quite large and another clear across the lawn and next to a fence. Both required a crane going over the lawn. YET - you wouldn't have known they were there as they first set-up planks for cranes and clean -up was excellent. Less than 4 hours! Pete and his crew are awesome. I had 2 very large trees to come down, it was like watching a ballet the way it was done. Pete and his team are true professionals. They came out and took down two large trees (80-90 feet tall) quickly and without any hassle. One was behind a garage against a fence and electrical wires running through the branches (very tight and difficult location).
