Such a disappointment on a recent visit to my home stomping grounds. Sandy's had been one of my…read morefavorites for many years, even before it's name was Sandy's. The place is a sports bar, and to their credit, they have lots of large screen TV's so that games are visible from every table. There's a good selection of beers, and service is very good and caring. The food was where my disappointment set in. I first ordered a pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and long hots. Happily, the sandwich held a good amount of meat. Sadly, it lacked seasoning and flavor, and felt like I was eating baby food. After two bites, I ordered a different Kenny item. The featured beef sandwich (my long time favorite) was filled with a generous portion of beef that, unfortunately was very tough and dry. In the past, the roll was dipped in jus, and practically melted in your mouth. Now it's a dry sandwich with a small cup of jus for dipping. I'm hoping that today was just an off day because I have a soft spot in my heart for this place. After all, I'd been coming here and loving those beef sandwiches for over 50 years. Would love to see a full return to their former glory.

I've never had a crab soup with cheese and I'm still not sure how I felt about it. The Italian pork was juicy and seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of gravy/au jus to make the roll just wet enough but still maintain that perfect chew that a quality long roll provides. A decent stop for a Sunday lunch we left full and happy with leftovers for later. A sure thing when in Penndel.

Parking is either found in their private lot or on the streets nearby. There is plenty of seating either in the dining area or at the large rectangular bar. The menu has apps, sandwiches, flatbreads, wings, soups, salads, burgers and a half dozen or so classic entrées to go along with some specials. I've had a burger which was just ok, nothing special and delicious Bang Bang Chicken Sliders. On both visits the house chips were stale and boring. Tap list has around 13 craft beers plus your regular macros. If you're a cocktail fan they have a dozen or so house creations. Service on both visits was great.
