It's been months since I've been here so my review should be taken with a grain of salt. That being…read moresaid, the last time I was there, their selection of draft and bottled beers, ciders and other drinks were great, varied for every palate, including my persnickety and fickle taste. One of their longtime staples, the Lindeman's Framboise (Raspberry in French) lambic beer, with its fruit forward profile and the low ABV of under 3% makes it a great sipping and people watching brew. The bartenders are always friendly and willing to chat, given they aren't swamped with other patrons. The take out is just as good as their dine in food, and their attention to detail FOR ANYONE WITH SENSITIVITIES (though I can't guarantee anything) or those like myself who have texture aversions to certain ingredients, they are more than willing to accommodate or substitute. I haven't personally looked into anything gluten-free, so that's something to call ahead for details on. Otherwise I have been coming here both with my family and on my own since... Way before they renovated, Maybe 2002, maybe before. It's been THAT long. The place is literally a "must try" landmark for any visitors to the area, with a minor caveat: sports games and Friday nights. Avoid those two times. It's a mob scene and the wait times become outrageous. Still hoping to get back there soon.

Highly recommend the Talea sour. Olivia - our server - was exceptional. Was nice enough to check on a couple of things for us in the back and checking in on us throughout our time there. I like the atmosphere overall. Was not expecting the bathrooms in the basement, but you work with what you have in the space that you have- and the group at Newton's does it very well. Looking forward to another trip to this area in the future and try something else on the menu.

The room actually absorbs sound better than many other bars in the area. Bartenders and waiters are usually very attentive and friendly. My one beef with the place, which is not terribly important to me because I'm usually not there for a serious meal, is that beyond pizza, cheesesteaks, fries, and stuffed hot peppers, they don't do a great job with their food. Virtually everything I've had other than the aforementioned bar stuff has been mostly "meh" (did I get that right, kids? :) By the way, the Meat Lovers Pizza is outstanding (and I'm from Trenton NJ - IYKYK )

Not sure it has been…read morerennovated since it opened but I suppose that just adds to the ??? charm?? hardly charming. Adds to the "divy...ness!" People dressed more like a biker crowd than a "Newtown" crowd. Food is bar food...not a "foodie" place by any stretch. I ordered a chicken wrap with french fries. Hubs ordered sausage and pepper sandwich with fries. Fries were a bit over seasoned and wrap was good. My martini was very good...not a large glass but not expensive either so it works. There is an outside patio for dining and a beer take out store. We were curious to try this place and happy to try it once...however, it really isn't my kind of place. Still...it was memorable.

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the exceptional customer service I…read morereceived yesterday. The short rib nachos have always been one of my favorites, but with such a generous portion, I usually need to reheat them later--which unfortunately tends to make them quite soggy. Yesterday, I called to ask if it would be possible to have the chips on the side. Not only did someone from the kitchen call me back to verify what I wanted, but the woman I spoke with was incredibly attentive. She wanted to ensure she understood my request, and when I explained that I would like everything kept separate--even though I knew it might be a hassle--she reassured me that it was absolutely no problem. I've tried the bake-at-home option before, but the cheese still ends up on the chips, which doesn't solve the sogginess issue. This time, everything was packed separately, and for the first time, I was able to fully enjoy this delicious menu item without anything getting soggy. It was genuinely wonderful, and I thought you should know that this level of care truly went above and beyond. Thank you again for making my dining experience outstanding. It's small details like these that make a big difference, and I appreciate the dedication to customer satisfaction.

The waitstaff may not let you know but that's what happens. I enjoyed my food and my friends did as well. Comfortable setting. They don't rush you out. They sometimes run out of food items, but it's a solid place. We saw the Knicks win the championship here.
