They cited that their shop has been sued multiple times in the past Which makes me wonder what they have done to be sued so many times that they had to create a policy. The gentleman behind the desk and one of the mechanics suggested that I lie in the future about having done any work on my car so they are actually promoting lying and dishonest acts Which further makes me worry about and wonder about their integrity and adds Creedence to the fact that they have been sued multiple times. I would highly recommend trying somewhere else and not doing any business with this place. My father and brother were mechanics and I grew up around a garage and it is worrisome and unethical to turn down work out of fear of being sued again. There are plenty of other garages in the area. What I couldn't wrap my head around was...get there early and then what? So for my fellow Yelpers with slight anxiety, here's how it went: I got off work at 6am, they open at 9am. I opted to dilly dally a little longer at work because that just felt TOO early. Got there around 7:30 am, after a failed Wendy's breakfast run, to find that there were already 8 people there. There is a canopy and some chairs and a picnic bench off to the side of the building. The parking lot is somewhat chaotic and packed, but I did manage to find a spot without too big an issue. Others parked next door. Fortunately , there was a customer there who became the line ambassador. He kept most everyone in order. The employees started trickling in around 8:30a. Everyone lined up to get in the front door and on the list, just before 9. There was a small argument between the first 4 or so people about who was first....not my business. They quickly got everyone on the list, just provide your car color, make, model, year, and if you know what the issue is. I kept my keys until they came to get them. You can wait inside or outside. There is a single bathroom inside. Someone came around to get my keys at maybe 9:05a, they grabbed me to show me the issue under my car around 9:30. I was on my way home by 10:15a. The price was about $250 cheaper than what Mr. Tire quoted me. The workers I spoke with were all friendly and answered my questions. Checkout was smooth. I was advised to take a picture of my receipt because they are not computerized but they do offer a warranty. My car is so quiet now. I came home and my dog didn't even meet me at the door since he couldn't hear me coming! Would definitely use them again. Especially now that I know what to expect from the line situation.

I have been going to Pallens…read moreAutomotive for probably 25 years or more, I ran an automotive parts store and serviced the Pallens shop and even his one son Michael worked for me. I have two vehicles, my 2012 Chevy Silverado 4x4 and my wife's 2013 Ford escape AWD. My wife's car had a check engine light and a low tire pressure light come on the dash. I've told Tom, Steven, Victor and all of the other mechanics to never put cheap or one year warranty parts on any of my vehicles and from day one I've never complained about a repair bill. Now after calling and telling Steven that the code was 051, a crank case pressure sensor. Steven called and told me to bring the car into the shop Friday at 9:30am and he'll check it out. Now every time I deal with Steven he tells me that he'll check it out and call me but that never happens and we're without a car for two to three days and when I call he tells me oh I gotta check this or I gotta check that when in reality he's blowing smoke up my butt. Well the truth came out that Friday. When my wife dropped off her car she asked when can I pick up my car, now remember Steven told me 9:30am, well it was 8:30am. My wife was to told she could pick up her car at 4:00pm. I picked up my wife at her job in Elyria at 3:55pm and drove straight to Pallens and I'm sitting in the parking lot waiting. Finally she comes out and I asked what's going on and she tells me that the young mechanic just ran out to the parking lot and pulled her car into the garage and changed the sensor. She paid the bill and we leave, driving home on broadway my wife calls me and and says that the check engine light and tire pressure light is still on. I told her to turn around and go back. She's told that Steven will get the sensor from the Ford dealership and she asked about the tire pressure sensor and was told she has to make an appointment even though they stock those sensors. This proved to me that Steven was peeing on my foot and trying to tell me that it's raining. You cannot believe anything Steven tells you. When a man's words ring empty (Stay away) I've had repair bills of $2000 sometimes more and I never complained about any one of them but when you show me that patronizing, your business means nothing that I take my money and spend it elsewhere. Thank you Stephen you save me some money you can blow smoke up somebody else else's you'll never do it to me again.

We were stranded, having no idea where to take the car in this fairly rural area. Fortunately, the flat bed driver recommended Aurora Car Care, and it was right down the street from a hotel with vacancy (this occurred late at night). We dropped the car off there, and left a message. The next day, after I conveyed my urgency at getting back on the road (on my way to work), they had the car diagnosed and repaired within a matter of a few hours. We were back on the road in no time, and the car ran great the rest of the way. They did this with a sense of friendliness and understanding that I sincerely appreciated. True professionals.
