As silly as it might sound, I was nervous to go here because I kept hearing how it was first come-first serve, and you should get here early. What I couldn't wrap my head around was...get there early and then what? So for my fellow Yelpers with slight anxiety, here's how it went: I got off work at 6am, they open at 9am. I opted to dilly dally a little longer at work because that just felt TOO early. Got there around 7:30 am, after a failed Wendy's breakfast run, to find that there were already 8 people there. There is a canopy and some chairs and a picnic bench off to the side of the building. The parking lot is somewhat chaotic and packed, but I did manage to find a spot without too big an issue. Others parked next door. Fortunately , there was a customer there who became the line ambassador. He kept most everyone in order. The employees started trickling in around 8:30a. Everyone lined up to get in the front door and on the list, just before 9. There was a small argument between the first 4 or so people about who was first....not my business. They quickly got everyone on the list, just provide your car color, make, model, year, and if you know what the issue is. I kept my keys until they came to get them. You can wait inside or outside. There is a single bathroom inside. Someone came around to get my keys at maybe 9:05a, they grabbed me to show me the issue under my car around 9:30. I was on my way home by 10:15a. The price was about $250 cheaper than what Mr. Tire quoted me. The workers I spoke with were all friendly and answered my questions. Checkout was smooth. I was advised to take a picture of my receipt because they are not computerized but they do offer a warranty. My car is so quiet now. I came home and my dog didn't even meet me at the door since he couldn't hear me coming! Would definitely use them again. Especially now that I know what to expect from the line situation. read more

My car was making a loud noise. I assumed that it was the muffler. Took my car to Bubba's, based on the reviews I'd seen online. It turned out it wasn't the muffler, but just a small part of the exhaust system. The mechanic told me it would be $300 plus to replace the small part. When I balked, he then said it would be only $165 to "repair" the part. Knowing nothing about cars, I went along with the cheaper repair, but had my doubts. How do you repair a part that needs to be replaced?? I'll probably go elsewhere next time. read more

I took my car there because my daughter had used them in the past and so had my son and did not seem to have an issue with them. I went in just to have my brakes done and an exhaust pipe looked at because I heard it bumping against my car. My engine light was on but had been on now for quite some time and I had already taken it to my mechanic who is now sick and he had shared with me that I would need a catalytic converter and it would have to be a factory converter. The mechanic told me that he could get me a factory converter and have my car completed all in the same day I was impressed because last year my mechanic told me it was on back order and would be hard to get right away. So I agree to have the young man fix my car and do all of the work even though the price was pretty steep $2,700 because the converter alone was $1,000. By the time I got down the street the engine light had came back on. I contacted bubba's and told them what was going on and they said that I should bring the car back but I needed to at least drive 200 miles so that the light would reset itself. I did just what they suggested and I drove to Columbus Ohio and back plus I went to work and back. The light did not go out. I returned the car on Friday and had it looked at by the time they called me it was after 5:00 they stated that now I needed a turbo part. When I ask why they didn't notice that before seeing as how they're the professionals and they had ran the test on the car they made up all kinds of crazy excuses. He is now going to pay for me to go to Buick dealership and have them take a look at it and run a diagnostic test because he says that the converter that he put on the car is good and therefore will not take it off and put my old converter back on and give me my money back. I am going to take it to a Buick dealership to have it looked at and I'm going to also take it to two other mechanics and have it looked at. I have a funny feeling I will see them in court. Highly recommended! I had an engine light on and bad catalytic converter. They fixed my catalytic converter and muffler for the lowest price possible. Plus they are highly respectful and kind, and give you free water. They get you in and out as fast as they can. Everyone I met there, including the customers in the waiting room, were super nice. Bubba's Better Muffler & Brakes is a place that I never knew about until a friend referred me to this shop. About 4 months ago my son's Toyota Camry was in need of some exhaust work (boy was it muffler repair loud). Took to Bubba's. In a few hours the care was brought in diagnosed and fixed. My son's car sounds very quiet now. Fast forward to yesterday 7/19/21. My Lexus GX 470 SUV was making a rattling sound underneath and was sounding louder than normal, but not "muffler repair" loud. I took it in to Bubba's and learned that the tailpipe to the muffler had come away from the muffler and had a leaky gasket. Bubba's got me in diagnosed the problem and fixed my car in a few hours Pros: price is right, price is straight forward on the spot, Bubba actually brought me in the bay underneath my car and showed me the problem and then told me what needed to be fix (no wonders at all) Cons: Bubba's does such great work that a ton of people come to this shop to get work done on their cars of all races (all ways busy) so if you are not early enough to get your spot in line, you may not get your car worked on that day. No appointments - it's first come first serve. This is a great con or problem to have in my opinion. My daughter recommended I go to to Bubba's. She told me it's 1st come 1st served and to get there early. What it really means to Bubba's is depending on the type of work you're getting done and "if" the mechanic is there. I was there at 7 - 1st; the doors opened at 8:15 the mechanic showed up at 9:10 and about 5 other people were called before me. My son in law was about 15th in line. He arrived around 8:30. Long story short I left at about 11:50. He left at 12 noon. We were both there for brakes. The cost was average. The aggravation for me was astronomic. IF I go again, I will take heed, everyone's 1st come 1st served does not mean the same. read more

I NEVER knew anything about Bubba's Better Muffler& Brakes until Sunday evening. I was looking for a new place to get my brakes repaired. I read the review of a gentleman that was in an accident across the street. The workers and owner in the store immediately came to assist the gentleman. On Monday morning I called to ask for an appointment, and I was instructed to come the next day first thing in following morning. Bubba's open at 9:00am I arrived between 8:15-8:20 am and a line had already formed outside. Approximately 7 people were ahead of me. So I stood in line and waited until the establishment opened. Bubba entered the establishment and started to assist the customers before 9:00am. I exited the facility awaiting a return call. I received a return call and at 5:30pm picked up my truck, absolutely quiet, no brake sound, smooth ride and EXTERMENTLY, BLESSING and grateful customer. Bubba's is a SCAM and they prey upon vulnerable seniors and women. My 67 year old mother took her car for diagnostic tests and to have an evaluation. They provided NO paperwork but told her that the problem was the catalytic converter. She paid $450+ to have it repaired. As soon as she drove off, there was a terrible sound and horrible fumes that were not previously present. She immediately returned the vehicle and they told her that she had to pay $800-$1000 to repair an issue with her rear end that was not an issue during her initial assessment. The new problem that occurred is parallel to the recent repair and was no coincidence according to multiple mechanics. They directed her to not even drive on the highway which she had done for YEARS prior to bringing her vehicle to them. When I called on her behalf, I was given the run around and after catching them in numerous, obviously misleading statements, I was forced to pursue other avenues. The only solution the manager James offered was for me to get proof from another dealership that they were the direct cause. This is ludicrous. I plan to pursue this unethical, illegal, conduct to the fullest extent of the law! BEWARE of this place and take your vehicle elsewhere! Please contact The Ohio Attorney General, City of Bedford Department of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, and every investigative reporter and social media outlet if you have had a similar experience. I certainly plan too. At minimum, they should've issued a refund. They also did not return her original parts. Enough is enough! This is SAD and beyond unacceptable. Super fast, super honest, well done, Bubba's. I drove in, parked, and stood in a line outside the door of the shop for about 45 minutes. When the shop opened we were let in, asked about our cars and whether we were staying or leaving the car. I stayed with the car and it was on the rack within 20 minutes. I was taken back into the shop, walked under my 2009 Camry, and Bubba showed me the problem and explained what they would do to fix it. I had been given two previous estimates and rejected them because of cost. Bubba's price was 1/3 the price of the others and he replaced what needed to be replaced -- with a two year warranty as well. Terrific experience. Nice people in the shop and in line as well. I had an catalytic converter error code causing my check engine light to come on so my dad told me to take my car to Bubba's. I was hardly even out of my car and someone was already helping me. This place is always busy but they are so friendly and helpful. Dropped my car off and as busy as they are I got a call within 3 hours that it was ready to be picked up. This business is great. A little different experience that I was used to in terms of no appointments, drop off car and keys and walk away but in the end, they called me when it was our turn, gave me an unbelievable quote, and completed the repairs in 35 minutes. We replaced 2 mufflers on a 2008 Chevy Impala for under $200 and I had recently paid $450 to replace 2 mufflers on my daughters Equinox. A local mechanic, after charging me over $600 for brakes and rotors; told me they didn't do mufflers and suggested Bubbas. Boy I wish I had sent the Impala there for the brakes too! I've been very pleased with Bubba's shop in the past,service and prices were always very good. I recently had muffler repair work done on my car but something had changed with his shop since I was there last. When I was looking up the name of the of the shop I noticed the name had changed, no big deal. . I thought this was a bit odd but didn't think much of it at the time. When I brought my car there everything seemed the same but when I was told how much the repair would cost I was blown away. A partial muffler repair on a car 15 years old was $600. I had already waited an hour plus to have the car looked at. The state is in a shut down over corona virus and didn't want to drive around price shopping. I told him to make the repairs but was bothered by the price. It took less than an hour for the repairs the car is quiet, and service was good. I don't know If his shop has changed ownership but something has changed . I was able to go there in the past and have repairs done and it was very reasonably priced I recommend you do your homework before having repairs done at Bubbas. It's hard to price shop when you have to make arrangements around work and family. I want patrons to know Bubbas Muffler used to be a shop to help the working poor but maybe it's not that shop anymore. read more

I have a 2008 Chevy Avalanche they did a custom exhaust over a year ago for me it sounds great!! I just yesterday had an exhaust leak after the pipes they put in damaged a line the takes fumes out of the gas tank. I went to see the owner and he told me to bring it in the next morning and repaired it for free no questions asked!!! Great customer service here!!! His actual statement was "its my stuff I'll fix it no charge" it doesn't get better than that!!! Top notch service and to stand behind your work over a year later!! I got my car towed to this shop a couple of weeks ago because a co-worker of mine HIGHLY recommended Bubba's as the go to shop and how reasonable they are with pricing and the good work that they do. My car wasn't starting. I guess since I dropped the car off instead of sit and wait like everybody else and as ridiculously busy they are my car wasn't much a priority to get to. Over the last couple of weeks I have been waiting on a call about the car and called them just to hear them say they haven't got to it yet. It took a week for them to call me and tell me why my car wouldn't start then I proceeded to tell them that It cuts back off too even after starting( should have told them that in the first place). So they said they will drive it to see if it cuts off. About another week went by I called and stopped buy the shop and again too busy to drive the car. Buy the end of the second week I call to see about the status of the car then I'm told,"I'm all set". Told me what was done and how much I was charged. I said the last time I talked to anybody about my car he said that it was goin to be driven to see if it would cut back off. I was never given a diagnosis and or an estimate to fix the car so Now to my surprise I have a $650 charge for my vehicle. read more

First come, first served. (bring something to pass time) I sat in the waiting room for about 3 hours and observed some very honest, good-nature dealings with customers that has become a rarity in today's repair market. At the time of my visit, the waiting room did not have AC and the long wait was hot and uncomfortable, but I did not mind once I received a very reasonable bill calculated honestly and top-notch work. No frills, low on amenities, just top notch work and great fair pricing. I had to come back 2 days in a row due to the first come first served policy, but the bill was much more reasonable than expected so...worth the travel time. I highly recommend this shop, I have been to a lot of repair shops and despite some inconveniences, this ended up being one of the best. read more

Beware of what they quote and what they do. When they gave an estimate, I was told they will replace an entire part of the exhaust but when I got home and looked under, I saw they just welded a couple of flex pipes. It took them 20 mins and charged me $225. Flex pipes are around $25 so thats around $180 for 20 mins of labor. Plus they did not do what they showed me and said they will do. Because they accept same day work, they just did my car repair as quick as they can and the easiest way but cost does not reflect that. read more

Just went to Bubba's today 6/27/2017. 4 1/2 stars. Called and they said just drive in about an hour wait. I guess they don't make appointments. Which might be the difference between a 4 1/2 and 5 stars. It is obvious that you are not paying for chain store infrastructure and uniforms. The place looks like an old school garage where you would be able to take your car over the years and build trust and become a repeat customer. I already knew what needed to be done on the car. I already had phone quotes from other places. It is a foreign car so many places jack the price up just because. They actually took me out to show me what needed done and why. Spot on. The price was good. Almost like they are not marking the parts up multiple times and only charging actual time. They didn't try to sell me stuff that was not needed. Even saw one young mechanic notice an older man with a cane going toward the door. He went and opened the door for him. Also noticed that they were facilitating getting a windshield put in for a customer that was having work done and they did not charge for that effort. Only charged for the amount that the windshield vendor (independent) charged them. They have a new customer as I will go there for my brakes and exhaust. If you want exhaust work done and only what needs done at a fair price, you should go to Bubbas. Again, don't be looking for some chain store with perfect buildings and uniformed personnel. What you get here is a group of people who look like they want to work and do a good job. read more
