I like Wexford's, let me just get that out there before I start. The reason I'm actually writing this review now is because I feel like I need to demonstrate somehow my appreciation for Wexford's - probably due to my recent visit to that new sports bar and grill McHenry's just down the street. That place sucked so bad and it made me realize how awesome Wexford's is. So anyway, I've been to Wexford's a few times and I haven't been disappointed since. I don't think you can really go wrong with anything you order from here. The servers in this place are super friendly and attentive and are just generally cool people. All the food I've had at Wexford's has been pretty proper but I really have to talk about their special on the 15th of September - the love burger. Oh man, it'll probably sound way corny but I loved the love burger. Grilled patty topped with avocado, pepperjack cheese, jalapenos, and bleu cheese with a side of garlic fries? Oh baby. Granted, I felt like a giant ball of crap after eating all of that but hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time, right? Eat here. read more

I like P. Wexford's. Always have. This is one of the first establishments I ever had a beer at. I have drank many beers and had pretty much everything on their menu over the years. I have been coming to Wexford's for over 12 years now. Even though they changed ownership they still have what it takes to stay in business. Wednesday nights are date night since the kids are at church. Last night, based on a recommendation from a client, husband brought me to P Wexford's. Mr D ordered fish n chips, I ordered shepherd's pye, and we shared a beer. The fish and chips were not as crispy as we like them, but very tasty. I probably didn't read the pye description well enough, so expected a crust...got none, but LOVED it anyway. Neither of us drink beer....well, I have one a year, and he might have that, but we'll have some more of that brand again soon! The wait staff was lovely. The live music, though a little louder than allowed us to talk with ease, was rockin! Overall, I'm ready to go back! Hurray! read more

We were in town for Thanksgiving and called to make sure the Champion's League match we were looking for would be showing. Brittney answered the phone and dug through the games to make sure they could show our team. We arrived during a very busy lunch rush and were impressed with the quality of service. Brittney took care of most of the house and seemed to be everywhere at once. My water glass was never more than half empty and she still had time to catch up with locals and provide excellent personal service. The rush progressed smoothly, efficiently, and with a smile. The Irish fish sandwich, Scotch egg, salad and Fish and chips were excellent as well. P Wexford Pub: ok first it is a pub good beer and seating area. Service is good and clean to a little dark for lighting but nice over all. Food : Menu is well rounded, dinner, lunch, appetizers , full bar and dessert. The "Deep Fried vegetables" for appetizer was very good. Now I had the the Pub Plate sausage on a bed of sour kraut it was ok the potatoes were very good and fluffy. If I go back I will have to try their Shepard's pie, I should have gotten it that day but I was talked out of it. read more

Extremely disappointed! My girlfriend ordered the shrimp and rings and I ordered the fish sandwich. My sandwich was good other then the bun a tad greasy but the shrimp and rings were disgusting!!!!! Over battered and burnt. We ended up splitting my meal and taking the shrimp and rings home to see if the kids would like them and they wouldn't even eat them. This was my first time here and service was mediocre. We had to chase her down for my girlfriends get a beer. Probably wouldn't try this place again. read more

Great look to this pub, good selection of beers, and great place to meet your friends at. The food however I'm not convinced of. I have known a few people that worked in the Kitchen and I wouldn't trust them with any type of food. Besides, it's not like ANY of the menu is healthy for you at all. I love this place, delicious food, awesome beer selection, and the service. On top of all that they are home to the local chapter of American Outlaws (USA soccer support group) going here for the games is the next best thing to being at the game.... Think you guys!!! Met up with two friends for dinner on a Friday night. It was difficult to find parking as they were really busy. However, we were seated right away and the waiters were attentive. I ordered the turkey cranberry and jack sandwich on wheat bread. When my sandwich came out, the bread was white. I told a nearby waitress and she had them fix it right away. It's possible that my waiter misheard me because it was quite loud inside. Either way, he was gracious about it and I had the correct dish in about ten minutes. The food itself is decent enough, but not amazing - especially for the price. The portions are huge but I was left feeling unsatisfied. Overall, the service is good and I had a pleasant experience but I don't know if I would return. read more

I base my 5 star rating on the fact that every time I eat there the food tastes great...fresh, some unusual choices like corned beef..nice soft private seating with tv and alcohol ..just no complaints. It's nice to know you cane dine out somewhere and be fairly sure it will be top notch. You can dress however you like. It IS a sports bar..I haven't seen kids there. It's a peaceful, clean environment from my viewpoint. I go at lunch or late afternoon. I like that it's open late though because it's way better than fast food. Longgg time customer since 2004 and haven't been there in about a year because they started messing with the menu and making it like Applebee's. So gave it a retry and yep high priced for smaller portions. I ordered the Sheppard pie which should have lamb but it had beef. I'd be cool if it was called cottage pie which is beef. The waitresses were always there to clear plates but not get sides, and my wife's food came out 5 minuets after mine. No one bothered to come by for refills on beer. I actually got food on the way home because the small portion left me hungry. I tipped only because every few minuets someone came to clear plates but no main course for a long time. Not sure about going back. We spent $178.00 for a party of four and felt that was for the ambiance. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for about 10 years and we pay a visit about once a month... That said, I'm leaving the most honest review I can muster. Bads first: limited parking just on weekends, smallish diner/bar(but cozy), too small acoustically to have live bands but still appreciate it.. One thing that bothers us is when we decided to swing by on St. Patty's day we were delighted to see a mini fair outside the restaurant with booths, games etc. However, when we asked the door guy about it he said it would be $10 per person to walk in! We drove away :( That seemed ridiculous considering we were about to spend our usual $55 in the place. Goods: Best selection of rotating beer taps! Great place to eat! Finally updated bathrooms! Cool decor and stained glass. Nice new but small outdoor seating, killer fish and chips that are consistently hot and great, killer garlic fries, Welsh rarebit is very good, service is fast and friendly. Wow,this place has changed for the worse. Waitresses busy chatting with friends who are in the restaurant and talking super loud at the same time looked at my wife and I as though we were bothering HER!Unbelievable!! Two words. Food poisoning. My husband and I ate here last night and both spent the evening feeling very ill! It was awful! He ordered the sliders and I the fish and chips. P. Wexfords used to be a very fun and clean spot but last night it appeared dingy. The booth I sat in seemed to have only one spring left in it. Also disappointing, the price tag of it all. For two people who only ordered one drink each and dinner we were left with a bill of $40. Which to some might not seem that bad but for pub food it was a bit much. Especially considering how we continued to pay for eating there the rest of the evening. We were once regulars at this establishment however now I will say we will never go back. read more

I came here based on reviews to get my fish and chips fix. I'm surprised at how HORRIBLY WRONG yelpers were. The fish must've been frozen, definitely not fresh, and the batter was no good. I don't know about you, but I prefer this dish crispy, and P Wexford's Pub served it to me soggy. REALLY.. SOGGY. And the tartar sauce had no more taste than the water in my cup. The best part of my meal was the fries, and even those weren't that good. One star for our delightful waitress. *There must've been upwards of 4 waitresses/waiters in the place, and our waitress was the only one actually working. The rest were literally leaning on empty tables, some watching the game and some staring aimlessly. I saw one just standing and twirling her hair for a good 20 minutes. Well what can I say... This place was the best watering hole in town with bartenders who actually know how to pour a guinesss. Ya know, the 70/30 rule they apply in Dublin Ireland. All was fantastic until the management came out with new higher priced menus and agreed to let Thursday night's John & Kelly protégés to blast their garage band, amateur trash clanking do rock music. I'm mean come on! These 12 year olds are terrible! Just let the adults in and enjoy a pint with some good music from John & Kelly! This is not an after school program is it? Great pub. The drinks are strong, the people who work here are always quick to serve and have smiles on their face. The latest person who served us was Megan, she was great. I came in and just got a few beers with some friends, I also got the fish sandwich which I really liked. Everything on the menu is really tasty. I know this place is not really authentic... but it is a good imitation and I do enjoy most of the food here. I have always received great service too! There are some great items on the menu.... Welsh Rarebit (fondue), Pretzel Crusted Chicken, Corned Beef and Cabbage... oh yeah! If they have the DIRTY IRISH FRIES... OMG... they are terrific (they do not have these very often). read more

I gave all those stars for the fish and chips alone cause that's all I've ever had there but that dish is worth all four stars. I've had fish and chips at MANY a places but this is honestly the best I've ever had, hidden right on Modesto who woulda thought? The batter is perfect light not to heavy, crisply enclosing moist flaked fish. Top with a little lemon juice and some tarter sauce and your in fish in chips heaven. But don't take my word for it go try it yourself and taste the yum. read more

Nothing good to say about my experience here.. called in for an order of the bbq chicken nachos, when I get there they charge me $14.50 for the nachos even though the menu online lists them at 10.50 so I swallow it up and pay an extra 50% .. when I get back to work the nachos are horrible.. stale and the chicken was under cooked..I asked a few co workers to try them and they thought they had gone bad. read more
