Websites that sell cars with WARRANTIES and maybe I could just lose the initial reservation fee (again, a direct purchase mistake) and purchase it through one of the websites, but alas that was not meant to be. They called me up today asking about the Car Payment/Paperwork and I told them I would only purchase with a warranty: didn't have to be 5 years - just long enough for my mechanic to look at it. They responded by saying something along the lines of, 'They never advertise on websites that offer warranties.' Their stock isn't worth a warranty because they're all lemons. **BUYER BEWARE** DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALER! I purchased a 2016 Range Rover and 2 months later received a warning error code, No Engine restarts after 249 miles, Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected. PA Auto Select, Downingtown is 1.5 hours from my home and my local mechanic advised that a Range Rover dealership would have the equipment to diagnose and clear the error. After my local Range Rover dealership service technician performed diagnostics on the vehicle I was informed that the vehicle required a Throttle Body Intake Cleaning and SCR Monitor and Regen drive cycle and had to pay ~$1400. 3 weeks later that I received the same message error code and took the vehicle back to the Range Rover dealership and after a full diagnostic check the technician informed me that the vehicle requires a Turbo Charger and seals, Vacuum Pump, Engine Timing Belt was missing teeth and should be replaced, left and right Axle Boots, DPF SCR replacement and sensors. All of these items showed up on the diagnostic inspection as failed. The pricing provided to fix the vehicle was ~20K and was informed by Range Rover that the dealer that sold me the vehicle sold me a lemon! Range Rover overruled the code so I could drive the car back to PA Auto Select, I presented the paperwork, picture of error code, and video from the Range Rover technician that gave a detailed overview of everything wrong with the vehicle to PA Auto Select General Manager, Josh March. Josh said they would have their service technician review the paperwork and video provided by the Range Rover technician however, they would not pay for any costs to fix the vehicle, they only offer a 3-month, 3,000-mile warranty on the vehicles they sell and my warranty ended 20 days beforehand. PA Auto select confirmed that the items outlined from the Range Rover diagnostic were legit and was going to charge over 12K to fix all of the issues with the vehicle I purchased from them 3 months prior. Josh said they performed a pre-purchase vehicle inspection and on the inspection paperwork provided to be at time of sale was a list of what required replacement, a left control arm, Engine filter, cabin air filter, wiper blades, and key battery were needed however, when I asked them to present proof that a full diagnostic check was performed on the issues discovered by Range Rover such as Turbo Charger and seals, Vacuum Pump, Engine Timing Belt, left and right Axle Boots, DPF SCR replacement and sensors and that they showed as passed on the paperwork this could not be provided. Not to mention the sale process was a total nightmare, I am from out of state and requested to retain my specialty Delaware license plate. After months of not receiving my tags and following up with the dealership for status, Josh informed me in a very unfriendly manner that Delaware changed their policy and the owner must go to the DMV to retain their license plate. Instead of notifying me of this change so I could submit the retention paperwork, their title department issued me a new license plate. After many trips and fees to the Delaware DMV and requests to the lender to provide a copy of the Delaware title, I was able to finally get everything straightened out and after many requests Josh reimbursed me only the fee for license plate retention. PA Auto Select does not disclose the true condition of the vehicles they sell; the dealership actively conceals major mechanical issues of their vehicles and chalks it up to older vehicles with higher mileage are prone to have issues and customers should know that when they purchase any vehicle. Customer satisfaction is not a top priority to PA Auto Select and they do not stand by their merchandise. Hopefully this review helps others, I see there are other reviews from customers that had a similar experience from PA Auto Select in Downingtown as I did. Lesson learned, go to a reputable dealership that stands behind the quality of the vehicles they sell and their customers! read more

Odd, I see a bunch of bad reviews but I guess you are buying a used car. Bought a 2008 BMW 550I for my son over the weekend with Jeff. Car was beautiful and drives great. Carfax shows a pampered vehicle. Hopefully it stays that way. I thought the dealership was nice, they were friendly, a little slow on the paperwork but it was all fair. I don't get the feeling they are trying to pull one over on you with a used car, but you still need to do your research as well. My son could not be happier. read more

My husband and I just stopped in today looking for Mercedes or Jaguar .. His second stop there recently..which he acknowledged. They had one Mercedes he was interested in test driving, the sales person tells us " well if you really don't think you are interested in that model we really don,t want to take it out because it takes us a lot of work to keep it showroom ready". Really someone's comes in to buy a car not another person in site and you don't want to show the car to a potential buyer. We got up and walked out guy could have cared less. Buyer beware!!! Didnt want to give them a 1 star. Absolutely despicable. I bought a car "AS IS" (which usually means no warranty) for my son's 15th next week. We wanted something inexpensive as well we know it will get dinged and what not. So the car was in fair/good condition but I trusted that the car was safe and inspected till 8/2021. We test drove it and heard some noises but figured couldnt be anything major. Drove it straight to my mechanic and because of the holiday he got to it 3 days later. His response this vehicle would not pass a Pa inspection. The whole rear suspension was rusted and blown out for well past the 5 months since inspection. I called the dealer to return car after 4 days and basically was told to pound sand. Selling a car as is doesnt mean it is ok to unsafe to drive. I would expect some kind od decency from a dealer with more pricey of inventory. Needless to say, my fight has just begun. read more

Update to this horrible auto business. When PA auto select sold me my 2010 Tahoe they said their mechanics looked at it and nothing was wrong with it. We closed and they said I would be able to register it in VA where I am from. I took it to one Chevrolet dealership in Virginia Beach and was shocked to find out everything that was wrong with it. I confirmed the assessment at a second chevy dealership and had the work done. It cost over $4k to fix the problems at the dealership, plus another $350 for new brakes and rotors that I put on myself, and then when I went to get it registered they tacked on an additional $1k to cover taxes. This place is the worst! I bought a minivan from this dealership. It was overpriced to begin with, but I thought I was getting a pretty good deal after I talked the price down some. I've had it for seven months, and more and more needs to be repaired! I've had to get back brakes and rotors (just two months after driving it), the power steering hose leaks, the VTEC seal leaks oil, and the starter motor needs to be replaced. Now my driver-side door doesn't respond to the key fob, so I have to lock and open manually to set the alarm. I'm glad I talked them down some, because the money I 'saved' is going right back into the is van. This wasn't a certified used vehicle, they sold me an "as-is" vehicle without telling me. My advice is to bring a mechanic with you b/c these guys just want to sell the vehicle and don't care two cents about you afterwards. Terrible experience. read more

An update to the Subaru Forester review that Ryan wouldn't honor the warranty. So we had the car for 2 days and had to have the thermostat replaced, which we knew about. So turns out there was more wrong with the car....which we told PA AUTO and they said they would not help. Picked up the car today and cost us $1800!!! Yeah, and that was on top of the $9500 we paid for it and with the 1 month warranty which turned out to be worthless. Please Don't go here, listen to the warnings. read more

I purchased a used car. A very nice used car. It has some cosmetic issues. What used car comes blemish free? I believe the folks at PAS told me all they knew about this car. When the AC went out they fixed it. The cosmetic stuff I want to do myself. It gives me that feeling of ownership and puts a little of me into the ride. Would I ever deal with PAS again. First of all-- I would like to start by saying this dealership is run by a fraud. I have never, in my life, had a worse experience with something. When you purchase a car for $6,000, whether it be used or what, one expects it to run longer than four months after purchase, correct? THINK AGAIN!. I first purchased my car March 21, 2015. I bought a 2005 Mazda 6 and used every last dime I had. I was very excited to finally buy a somewhat new car to get me through my last year of nursing school. Shortly after my purchase (about 6 days) I noticed that the engine didn't feel right. The car would accelerate and skip when I backed up. I brought it back within the week and the mechanic "fixed" it. Or so I thought. The car only ran OK for a few days and the problems started to surface again. The second time I brought it back the problem was again, "fixed". On my way home, about a mile or so down the road my engine light came on. I called right away and brought it back where reset the sensor instead of figuring out what the real problem was. The car pretty crappy for the next couple weeks before I had to bring it back again. This time, I was running close to the end of my warranty, which was 30 days. The mechanic at PA Auto Select couldn't figure it out so they sent the car to a Mazda dealer. I got the car back and it felt the same. Meanwhile they had had my car at this point TRYING to "fix" and I heavily quote FIX my car, well after warranty. When the car still wasn't running correctly I called again thinking that since the problem was NEVER FIXED in the first place maybe I could be compensated. I called and one of their many rude employees told me the warranty was up and that there was nothing that could be done. So ok. I'm thinking maybe this is just the was the car runs, after all it just had to lay me one year until I graduate. Two weeks ago however, I was driving on 76 when my car died. I had the car towed to a reputable Mazda dealer where I personally know the general manager and he made sure they figured out what was wrong without charging me an arm and a leg since I have obviously been treated unfairly. I found out that the engine was completely shot. The damage done to the engine was something that I could NEVER do in 4, well actually 3 months since they had my car "fixing" it for about 5 weeks all together. I'm quite certain that PA Auto Select was well aware of the engine issues and didn't want to inform me so they wouldn't have to pay and lose money on a car that they sold. Mike, the owner sent me a $500 check probably knowing damn right well that that was not enough to cover costs of the vehicle. I have been calling for two weeks now and he has been avoiding me. Why would someone avoid you if they weren't guilty? I now have to get a lawyer involved and spend god knows how much money I already don't have to maybe get a FAIR outcome. I am warning EVERYONE. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE HERE. They are not worried about costumer satisfaction or the quality of their vehicles they sell. It makes me sick to think that someone that has a Ferrari sitting in their show room can't find the means to properly settle this. This had by far, been the worst experience of my life. read more

Let me just say that I find buying a used car so very stressful. Both Ryan and Josh were great to deal with. Transaction went smooth. Got the car home and started having problems. Truth in Advertising - I identified a BMW car on cargurus.com from PA Auto Select, but also saw it on cars.com. Based on what was listed on cargurus.com, I contacted the dealer and made an appointment to drive up from Virginia since the car appeared to have the options I wanted, which I was willing to drive up and pay more for. While looking at the vehicle, I was questioning how to use some of the features. The salesperson recommended I just read the manual. I test drove the vehicle, provided a check and drove it back to Virginia that day. After realizing that the features were not enable or existed, I sent an email to the salesperson. I did not receive a response, so I contacted the dealership. I spoke to another salesperson and explained the features that were listed in the ad did not exist on the vehicle. (Still have screenshots) He informed me that I should have went to their website to verify the features. (Why if they posted both ads?) He then asked if I looked at the dealer sticker in the car, which is funny since it did not list all of the features that were actually on the vehicle. His basic response was that it wasn't a big deal to them and implied that "it happens." So, one of the main reasons I came to look at this car and to pay more did not exist even though it was advertised. In addition, it was promised that since I paid with a check in full that I would receive the title in just over a week. The check had cleared. At 14 days I emailed the salesperson with no response. At 16 days I called her and she told me to give it another week. I stated that I was promised it within a week. It was then overnighted to me. My initial experience with PA Auto Select was good, but with false advertising, the flippant response from the salesperson and the lack of support after the sale, it is hard to say that I would ever recommend this dealer. read more
