They sold me a certified vehicle but it ended up being a lemon nonetheless. Within weeks, I was already taking it in for repairs. Since then there has been an issue every couple months or so. Warranties were handling the expenses for the repairs but as the visits started to mount they eventually found work-a-rounds to invalidate the warranties. Repairs included major mechanical failures. The vehicle even failed state inspection and I had to pay thousands of dollars to address the issue before I could pass. Also, I've been taking the vehicle to a different mechanic shop recently because Jeff's repair shop is just as shady as his sales and finance departments. read more

However, everything changed after July 3, 2026, when I traded in my car for a new one.Before trading it in, I had refinanced my old car and was told I would receive a refund for the gap insurance. Since the trade-in, I have been getting the classic runaround. The dealership tells me the refund comes from the lender, and the lender tells me it comes from the dealership. No one wants to take ownership of this issue.To make matters worse, I received a follow-up call from Rose D'Ambrosio asking about my experience. I explained the exact situation to her, and she promised to look into it and call me back. That was three weeks ago, and I have heard absolutely nothing. My spouse even called and left her a voicemail, which also went completely unanswered.This used to be my go-to dealership, but after this experience, I don't know if I will ever purchase a vehicle here again or send any more referrals their way. Take your VW to a different service center! I had an awful experience here from start to finish. To start I was charged an outrageous price for a part that should have cost about half as much, and the labor rate was incredibly expensive. To make matters worse, the service department refused to contact my warranty company and made me handle everything myself. After I paid my bill and got my car back, they called me a week later and told me that the reimbursement check from my warranty company had to be turned over to them. When I called my warranty provider to verify this, they informed me I was being double charged. The worst part is that after all of this, my vehicle is still experiencing the exact same problem I brought it in for. I paid a significant amount of money, dealt with unnecessary stress, and the issue wasn't even fixed. I feel completely ripped off by this repair experience. If you value your time and money, I strongly recommend taking your Volkswagen to a different service center. read more

FAIR WARNING TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS - BUYER BEWARE -THEY SOLD US A VERY EXPENSIVE LEMON, AFTER SITTING 8 HOURS IN THEIR DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF OUR BANKRUPTCY SITUATION AND DID NOT ADHERE TO THEIR BANKRUPTCY POLICY AS MAILED TO US. MY ADVICE? DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. Quick breakdown: We bought a 2023 Nissan Altima in Dec 2025. It had shaking while driving over 45 mph, and we brought it back to the dealership. They had it for four hours and gave it back to us, saying it was the "brakes" and it was fixed now. The shaking while driving continued, so we took it to another mechanic nearby (as every trip to Jeff Ambrosio's dealership is guaranteed to be a 3 hour to 8 hour visit), who rotated the tires in an effort to fix the shaking; they noted that every tire was a different brand and slightly different sizes. We took it back to Jeff Ambrosio. They said they found the problem now, that it is the axle and possibly the transmission, and to start working on this it will be $800. We argued that we took the car in for work within the first 30 days of purchase, due to shaking. Jeff Ambrosio's dealership says "this shaking may not be related to the first issue" which is complete nonsense. They sold us a lemon for a ridiculously high price, which we felt we had to accept after spending 8 hours sitting at their desk as they chose a car that we could afford (they kept switching which car they could approve us for). We were in severe need of a vehicle, we were just out of bankruptcy. Their bankruptcy flier promising no money down was mailed to us, seemed like a great deal, that I verified with 2 or 3 representatives, and shared our sensitive information like access to our credit to be reviewed, before taking the hour drive to look at their cars. They lied. We followed the proper protocol, addressing this with the dealership prior to reporting to Dealer Compliance. However, the Dealer Compliance through our financial instituation is no help because it has now been several months trying to get this fixed, and they can no longer assist. Everybody knows that gas causing food costs of rise on a daily basis. I needed to trade my car in because I ended up having a lot of issues and could not afford to pay for everything at once so I traded it in because I owned my car. Of course I wanted certain things in my car so I looked around on the lot about four or five hours. Got a car. It's a beautiful car but the payments are too high. They don't really care. Paid the $225 diagnostic fee and went to an independant but trustworthy shop. they replaced the condemsor fro $1070 and all if OK. the throughly checked the evaporator and found no leaks whatsoever. I really wish I could leave a good review. Our initial experience wasn't terrible, staff was friendly. When given a car to test drive, it was not cleaned yet. Which normally would be okay, but this car was disgusting. It had USED diabetic strips laying around along with trash everywhere and stuff splattered all over. We ended going with a ford explorer. It was a huge mistake. We have had nothing but problems since getting it, and when I took it to their shop they didn't do anything to fix it, even when I gave them the codes for the check engine light. The check engine light has been one since the week after i got it. What a terrible dealership. What a complete waste of time. After using their website's tool to put together a deal on a list price Jeep Wrangle and a trade=in on a 2017 Jeep Cherokee - they refused to honor the trade-in value that their own tools gave me. All of this is after I put down a 500 dollar deposit, filled out their credit documents and sent everything they needed to complete the deal (including a print out of the deal document that they created for me). So, after an hour, they told that they were "uncomfortable with number on the trade-in" Keep in mind that it was the number that their website's tool gave to me. I bought a Jeep fir my son 2 years ago there. Part of the deal was a new soft roof for it. We were to split the cost, $750 each. When it didn't arrive within a month, I called and was told it was back-ordered. No problem, I called again in 2 more months, still on back order. There was a supply change issue. It's Thursday 7/11/24 and I had an appointment for only a state inspection and stated that I'd be waiting for it, assuming it's a 2023 ram 5500 and haven't had it for a year and no issues it will past with flying colors. Once I got here and checked me in they then told me that it will be all day because they only have one lift that can lift my truck. The lift it self lifts up the vehicle from each tire so it's not like they need the lift to take tires off. Not sure why they need to use a lift for a state inspection. Truck enforcement does inspections every day on the shoulder of roadways without a lift. So now my options are to either wait till end of day, leave truck and come back , or re schedule for to in hopes that this doesn't occur tomorrow. I had a truck sitting in front waiting for me at my arrival, and my salesman Anthony Vega waiting no for me. I had a great private test drive with a beautiful truck. Then waited a few to receive an estimate on my trade in until I couldn't wait any longer and left my number. I got a call within the hour with a fair number, and made my offer. I couldn't be happier to say I got the greatest used car buying experience I have ever wanted. My offer was rejected twice through close communication via text w/ Anthony. Got a call the second night and was able to cut a deal. Went the next morning and cut the deal. I noticed some things that I hadn't seen initially, and got them on the we owe sheet (dents in doors, rubs on rims, only one key). Traded in a lease a few years ago to lease from these guys. They were going to write me a check for the remaining payments and take the car back for me. They lied about taking it back since it was still on the lot weeks later and I was still paying Toyota. I had to hound them to send me the check and it took at least a month. Now, trying to trade that lease in I find out that their leasing company CAL Automotive charges third party buyers a 10% markup. This made it extremely difficult to get out of the lease even being 16k under the limited miles. Save yourself the trouble and find another dealership. In October of 2019 I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle here. I was hesitant to use this dealership after reading several reviews about experiences female buyers had at this location. After looking in the Philadelphia area and having a terrible experience with the dealership there, I decided to make the drive to Jeff D'Ambrosia. They were very organized - ready for my arrival and the car I was there to test drive was ready to go. I ended up purchasing the vehicle. Months later I found that the rear seatbelt was not functional and that the tool to remove the specialty wheel bolts was not included. The dealer had sold me a "CPO" car without a functioning seat belt, and without a way to get the tires off. It had come with the special wheel bolts that cannot be removed without the tire lock key. This was all annoying and disappointing, but not the end of the world. What was unacceptable was the total and complete lack of customer service after the sale from both Jeff D'Ambrosia and VW Corporate. I contacted the dealership several times to get the issue corrected and got the run around. First, I was told I'd get a call back from the person I bought the car from. I never did. When I called back, I was directed to the sales team, who then directed me to the service team, who then told me they couldn't help and I needed to talk to the sales team. I got fed up and contacted VW corporate, who directed me back to the dealership. I explained the dealership was non-responsive. From VW Customer Care: "The concerns you brought up with the wheel lock and safety belt at the time of purchase under the certified pre-owned (CPO) warranty, these would be something that a technician at the dealership would be able to address. As we rely on them to be our technical experts, they can look at the safety belt from a hands-on perspective to determine why it's not functioning and what the best recommendation for repairs would be. As you expressed these were concerns missed at the time of the CPO inspection, we would encourage you to speak with your Sales Advocate or the Sales Manager as they would be able to provide more in-depth information on the CPO inspection performed and help provide any resolution." So I went back to the dealership and again got no help. I called VW customer care again and they kept telling me that since it's a warranty issue I would need to go to a dealership. I explained over and over again that these items were not broken after the time of purchase, the car was sold to me as a CPO vehicle with these issues so it should simply be corrected. I explained that the team at Jeff D'Ambrosia was not helping, and they told me I could go to any dealership to get the issues fixed but they could not guarantee it would be covered under warranty. I ended up fixing the seatbelt issue myself and getting the tire bolts changed out by a VW dealership in Staunton, VA (they were great and totally reasonable!). They did it free of charge and although they said it was 100% the responsibility of the dealership I purchased the vehicle from, they said the paperwork would be too much of a pain and not to worry they would just eat the cost. They did not approve of the customer service I had received at Jeff D'Ambrosia. 1 year later, the sunroof leaked and has caused water damage to the inside of the vehicle. This is a known issue with VW vehicles, however the team at Jeff D'Ambrosia did replace the entire sunroof seal prior to selling the vehicle so it's disappointing it has lasted just over one year. Of course it's an issue that will need to be resolved at a dealership, and I can tell you that I will not be going to Jeff D'Ambrosia. The team seems to not stand by their work or their vehicles...and honestly it seems like I can say the same about VW corporate as well. My experience has been that once Jeff D'Ambrosia makes a sale they wash their hands, even if they sell you a car that doesn't meet basic safety and CPO standards. Two thumbs down. read more
