First time for this to happen... walking into an establishment, opening Yelp and seeing an overall 1-star rating (yikes!) but then realizing there's only 1 review so far (yikes?). But we opted to stay (the first-to-review wasn't wrong that this place is way more expensive than Taco Bell and the like) and glad we did. Definitely not the best (chicken) tacos I ever had but these were pretty good. The (pork) burrito was "good but dry" according to one of my kids. Hands down: the homemade (bulky) chips 'n salsa were the star of the afternoon. Friendly crew behind the counter. Nice selection of beers/alcohol. Probably not a place I'd frequent twice while on vacation in Lake George (but it was still better than Christie's two blocks away!).

The staff was friendly, best margs on LG, and great location and atmosphere. The food did not disappoint.

There was however a party of 17 and their was a guy who looked like jelly roll who was chugging drinks and making chants, but the overall ambience experience was still good.

But it's hard to imagine anyone having a better experience than we had at Cantina 32. This five-star experience starts off with the staff. The hostess that greeted us and our server (Kimberley) were about as engaging, friendly, helpful, and charming as anyone we've dealt with. They were so nice that after our dinner we had a long conversation with both in front of the restaurant at the hostess stand. After we made our U-Turn to get back to our hotel, they both waved goodbye as we passed their stand. We chose an outdoor table because the weather was so nice. My wife ordered the Cantina Chicken Quesadilla ($17) that was served with tortilla chips and cantina sauce, sort of a mild chipotle crema. She passed on the otherwise included rice. The dish was four big slices that were generously stuffed with chicken, onions, peppers and cheese. I went with a Cantina Salad with Chicken ($15.45). It was a colorful beauty of a dish with a shredded lettuce base topped with corn, onions, olives, green peppers, tomatoes, and chicken cubes. It was served with the same Cantina sauce. The food was great, we both loved our dishes. We also noticed a bit of a regional difference between the Lake George version of the quesadillas and the version we're used to. At home they are traditionally served with sour cream and salsa, but not here. I asked for salsa for my salad, and what came out wasexcellent -- clearly homemade and full of flavor. Our meal ran under $35 before tip, and that included some leftovers on the quesadilla. If you're ever vacationing in Lake George, trust me... you will LOVE Cantina 32.

There are other Mexican restaurants closer to Albany with some great vegan options and I would even say they are owned by the same parent company. Typically the reason we go to La Fiesta in Clifton Park is because we are meeting someone who isn't vegan and we're finding a place we can all find something on the menu. La Fiesta boasts several vegan options on the menu, they even have vegan cheese and seitan (meat substitute). Many places will just give you a bean and vegetable option and omit the cheese and sour cream but charge you the same price and call it vegan. The service is great, the waiter was very attentive. The one thing that caught me off guard was when I asked for hot sauce, he asked me bottled or house-made? I thought, house-made sounds like something I need to try and ordered it. He could have warned us it would be $2 extra, I still would have said yes but we were surprised to see it on the bill. I enjoyed my potato and spinach enchilada dish and my wife had a good amount of guacamole and chips before her Vegan Fajita Quesadilla arrived. The quesadilla was one large tortilla folded over in half and stuffed with peppers, onions, and mushrooms and what should be vegan cheese. She only ate a quarter wedge and a few bites of rice before she was full. As we felt fine driving home but I started to experience heartburn which since being on a plant-based diet for nearly 10 years only happens when I eat something non-vegan. My wife was sick during the night and throughout the entire following day. We are convinced there was some cross contamination in the food or worse, her quesadilla was made with real dairy cheese. This isn't the first time we haven't felt well leaving La Fiesta's Clifton Park location. Maybe it wasn't a fluke and there is room for improvement in kitchen practices to prevent cross contamination, maybe we just have bad luck. We can't keep going there if we're going to get sick everytime. If you don't have food allergies or sensitivities I'm sure you'll be fine. Otherwise La Fiesta really lives up to the name. Friday evening, the restaurant was packed, there were people waiting at the door, drinks were flowing, and the music fun.
