The family decided on taking a road trip to Lake Placid for a short getaway. We arrived to our hotel late in the afternoon and after getting situated in our room, we decided to quickly pick up some dinner before putting our son to sleep. We walked passed Wyatt's and remembered reading about it on yelp prior so we decided to check it out. The menu is simple and you just highlight what you want to order and submit the form to the cashier. The brisket sandwich was delicious as the meat was not dry and the in house bbq sauce went well with it. The pork burrito is huge and extremely satisfying. These TACOS were great and the location is crazy cool. I love that you can see the biz and then enter through the store walkway. We had just arrived and were starving before dinner, so we grabbed two tacos and some AMAZING chips. We enjoyed them in the hotel room and they were ready speedy quick. If you're looking for something casual, grab & go style, Wyatt's is the place. You can select all of your toppings to customize your dish to your preferences. I got a burrito bowl & my husband got a burrito. He chose the smallest one on the menu and it was still gigantic. We both had an entire meal leftover for the next day's lunch. We also got chips & queso. It was half the cost of our dinner the night before at a sit-down restaurant (salad with salmon, burger with fries) and a MUCH better deal. Only complaint was I ordered online around 6:15 and it said it would be ready at 7:05 but that I would get updates. We were hopeful it would be ready early, but by 7:15 my husband went to grab it because it still didn't say completed. It was done and just sitting on the counter... it was still warm but who knows how long it had been ready for. You have the entire Adirondacks with towns food and things to try and I always always make sure to come to wyatts! The pricing is great and everything is made custom to order and so tasty. You don't stop taking orders at 7:00 because "oh darn, we're falling behind. Sorry, wah wah...". Being open means you are open for business, period. A very disappointing way to run a business. A disappointing burrito, not even worth a picture. Perhaps I am too hash given the area is not know for Mexican or Tex-Mex food. But the takeaway burrito I ordered was leaking when I opened it. Inside, the ingredients tasted all right but had too much water, from the salsa or something else. This probably caused the tortilla to rip, literally spilling the beans. If you're really craving Tex-Mex, this would be your best bet in the area. I would absolutely recommend getting a bowl instead to avoid my issue! read more

Why it was highly recommended by a few guests at the hotel. I naturally was gravitated to this place, as it's the same name as my nephew, so hopefully I could be. Well, it didn't disappoint. I decided to be a big fat pig in order the Sasquatch, which is pretty much a burrito wrapped in a quesadilla. I don't think I need much more description as that, except for it was huge, it was plentiful, it was full of flavor, and I brought some home for my dinner. The price was just right for it and I like the options they give you when ordering. Ordering on the other hand was a little confusing being the first time we were there and I can imagine how it would be if it was busy. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. I hate to be the contrarian, but I wasn't a huge fan of Wyatt's. When we were approaching the store, I was hit with a wall of strong taco seasoning smell. It wasn't a particularly pleasant smell, as it reminded me of the taco seasoning packs you can buy at Stop&Shop or some other grocery store. We entered the building and grabbed the paper slips to place an order. They have a lot of customizable options to build your own burrito, just like at Chipotle. The prices are a little high, but I guess they are cheap compared to the rest of Lake Placid. We went up to place our order and asked if they served horchatas. The cashier looked confused and indicated she didn't know what horchatas were. Interesting... We got our food pretty quickly and went across to the pasta store to eat at the tables. The burrito bowl was a bit small, but still enough for me to feel full-ish. My brown rice did not have cilantro in it - I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. The brown rice texture also felt a little old. The sauce, sour cream, and cheese were okay. The pork tasted like the smell that hit me when I was approaching from the street. The bowl was not ~bad~, but it definitely felt like Taco Tuesday at a university dining hall, or something you could whip up with taco seasoning from the store. Who would have thought that we would end up at a Tex-Mex place in Lake Placid? So glad that we did! The staff was very friendly and efficient. And, there was a great setup for safe and social distanced ordering during COVID. And, despite being busy, I saw someone come out and sanitize in between customers. Also, I wrote out the details about how their ordering was set up. My group ordered the burrito bowls and the brisket meal. The burrito bowls were delicious, but the brisket was just good, not amazing as most reviewers stated. The menus posted here on Yelp are outdated, which is surprising, because as of this review, there are 159 previous reviews. It would have been nice to have an updated menu to peruse beforehand, especially with a big group. I was disappointed that they didn't have whole wheat tortillas for a place that specializes in Tex-Mex. It seems like they used to have them before because I saw the information posted inside the establishment, but I was told that they didn't carry any. Would I go again if I'm in Lake Placid? Sure, if I'm craving Tex-Mex! It's a good place to stop by to pick up a quick bite to eat. Tips: -During COVID, there is only take out option. -There's a single table to the right of the restaurant window if you want to stand and eat. And, limited seating at another restaurant nearby. Typical tacos, nothing special. Order system is weird and not environmentally friendly, you have to check off what you want on a piece of paper and then verbalize it to the cashier as well. The cashier is also the cook so the order took a while. Portion sizes are small. I ordered a bowl and must've gotten like 5 pieces of beans and a quarter of a scoop of rice. After changing my mind a couple of times, I finally settled on the Vera Cruz, which was better than I expected. We came right after opening, so it wasn't crowded when we got here. The portions were generous and filled with fresh ingredients. The host was also really nice! It seems to attracts a lot of attention as their tiny space was packed with people wanting their burritos last night. It's the best smoked brisket I've tasted since life in limbo began. I mean phenomenal. I had it in a bowl and it is just the perfect combination of smoke, sweet, fat and tender.
