They came out to fix our firepit. It looks like new. Very easy process from start to finish. Will use them again for any masonry work.

I hired this concrete company for two separate projects, including backyard pavement work…read more Unfortunately, both experiences were stressful and uncertain. The main issue was that we would agree on a scope of work and price, but after the job started, he would later complain about the price or try to change the terms. On one project, he initially offered a discount if I paid cash, but about a week later said he could no longer honor that arrangement. I agreed to pay the full amount because he is also my neighbor across the street and I wanted to keep things friendly. I also asked him to repair damaged stucco under my patio doors, and he agreed to include that work. While I was traveling, he sent me a bill for the full amount, and I paid assuming the agreed work had been completed. When I returned, I found that the stucco repair had not been done. I asked him again to fix it. He sent a long message complaining about the price and scope of the work, apologized, and said he would fix it -- but he never did. After dealing with repeated complaints, uncertainty around agreed pricing, and unfinished promised work, I gave up. I would not hire him again. In my opinion, there was too much inconsistency and stress for work that should have been handled clearly and professionally.

He never pushed ideas and listed to our plans for the project. His crew was also punctual, clean and very respectful. All excess materials and trash were cleared at the completion of the project. After another contractor completely screwed us over by starting our backyard project and leaving it unfinished, JC & Sons Landscaping came in and saved the day. They were punctual, professional, and worked incredibly efficiently. They even reran our gas line to make sure everything was done properly and up to code instead of taking shortcuts. They also went above and beyond to give us the stamped concrete look we wanted, and the finished backyard turned out even better than we had envisioned. Months later, everything still looks amazing, which says a lot about the quality of their work. If you're looking for a company that's honest, reliable, does quality work, and genuinely cares about getting the job done right, I can't recommend JC & Sons Landscaping enough. We have absolutely no regrets choosing them and would hire them again in a heartbeat!

We were having a new pool and deck put in our yard and needed all the concrete work done. I asked him for an estimate and once I received his written bid I decided to have him do the job. It was a large job and I wanted someone with experience. We were really happy during the process, and thought we had made the right decision. Everything changed though on the last day when I went to give him final payment and he informed me that he was adding an extra $2500.00 to our bill. I had spoken to him everyday of the project, made three payments on work as he went along and he NEVER mentioned any additional charges. I paid the extra because I was caught off guard. After thinking about it all night I decided to call him and let him know that I really felt that was not the right way to handle business. I told him he should have informed me of any additional charges throughout the process. I didn't expect the money back but business owner to business owner I wanted him to know that this was pretty unethical. He said "don't worry about the extra money, he just wants us to be happy". I told him I would like to split the difference with him instead of him refunding us all the extra money he charged me. I hung up and felt we had come to a decent compromise even though he should have told us of any additional charges as we progressed through the job. The next day I got a letter from him stating all the "extras" that he felt he had done and telling us we needed to justify any refund. We responded and let him know that everything he stated in his letter had been known from the very start of the job and should have been in the original bid and/or discussed at any of the many conversations we had throughout the process. He knew exactly what we wanted from the very beginning. Ultimately we kissed the money goodbye and decided to move on until we noticed all the problems with the concrete he laid down. There were several places that he didn't put enough color down and it is a completely different look than the rest of the concrete. Originally he told us that would go away but it just keeps getting worse. There were several areas where he didn't seal the concrete. There were even boot prints in the sealant as well as roller marks where you could see where they missed whole sections of sealant. The worst is around the pool, the color and seal is completely peeling off after less than a month. We contacted Joe by phone and email and he has not responded. He refuses to stand behind his work. We paid over $20,000.00 for this job and Joe can't even drop off the sealant (or give us the name that he used) that we paid for so we can correct the fixes ourselves. He has made so many promises and then not kept them. It is a real shame because this could have been handled so easily. The pictures below speak for themselves, so just beware before hiring Joe for any of your concrete needs. Anyone can make a mistake and I understand that, but if Joe is unwilling to correct his mistakes that speaks to the reputation of his business. If he stands behind his work at some point I will definitely update this review.
