Used Pace & Sons for a home warranty repair on a gas line to the HVAC. Tech was great, no more gas leak, and house warming up.

I found Pace and Sons through our home warranty company. In my experience, companies recommended by warranty companies aren't that great, but Pace and Sons is amazing! Probably because it's family owned, Mr. Pace taught his sons well. The first time they were out here was for our downstairs A/C unit. They quickly identified the problem and had the part on the truck to fix it the same day. I liked them so well, I called them again when our 2nd A/C unit broke and it wasn't covered by warranty. They are affordable, professional, knowledgeable, and quick. I highly recommend them! read more

I've used Pace, and have dealt with both Cory and Alec, for several years. They've always been really good. They always call when they're on the way, and they always let me know when things don't need to be done at the current visit. They're knowledgeable about all kinds of equipment, including furnaces and whole house humidifiers, and they did a great job putting in a whole house air conditioner on my small patio, researching until they found a good one that would fit, and sending their good electrician with whom they work to do the electrical work. They come to our place every spring to tune and clean the AC, and every fall to tune and clean the furnace and check the humidifier. When my current hot water heater goes out, they'll be replacing that, and they have a high-quality, economical solution. I'm very glad to have found them, after having struggled through several sub-par HVAC companies. It's always good, if rare, to find people to work on the house who are competent and also nice. I haven't had emergencies so far working with them, but our next-door neighbors, who recommended them to me, told me that when they need to be there quickly, they always are. read more

This was our second time dealing with Pace & Sons. They replaced our AC unit several years ago (thru Blue Ribbon) and did an excellent job. When our furnace died, we remembered them. I left a message on a Sunday to request a Monday appointment. Corey responded within minutes and got us scheduled. He was communicative on Monday and arrived within the scheduled window. He was knowledgeable and efficient, and was able to quickly repair the furnace. He was also very kind in answering multiple questions and giving us his professional opinion. Last week during a cold snap, we encountered serious issues with our boiler. I called Corey after a neighbor recommended his company. He was unable to come out that night but was kind enough to help us turn off the system through FaceTime. Luckily, he called early the next morning with his exact arrival time (I've never experienced such courtesy from any service company). Similar to many others, Pace and Son's was referred by the home warranty company. Corey came to do a simple repair which lead to the breaking of a crucial part of the HVAC system (still no idea how that part broke...) and blowing the transformer. Instead of being apologetic he was exasperated and said "you won't have any water or heat for two weeks." Mind you, this was December when temperatures were dipping to 15 degrees. When asking about potential solutions or bandaids for the two weeks he was rude, not helpful, and didn't care that there would be people and animals living without water or heat in the middle of winter. When the part was supposed to arrive on a Friday Mr. Pace said he couldn't come until the following Wednesday because he was "booked all day Monday and wouldn't work Tuesday (it was New Year)." While I understand individuals definitely deserving some time off I thought considering the circumstances he would make some time. After finding a new HVAC service company to finish the job Mr. Pace messed up, we needed a serial number, which he had in his documentation and refused to give saying "I'm not helping my competition." Again, giving no regard to the fact there it was 10 degrees and there was no heat or water due to HIS mistake. This was the absolute worst service experience I've ever seen in my life. I was referred by blue ribbon home warranty to Pace & Sons Mechanical. After trying to reach a human at Pace, I finally got an answered call by Corey. This must've been during his lunch break, as he was completely bothered by my call. Corey was completely rude and unprofessional. I emailed them at 9:06 am. asking for a call back...no response. I called over and over and over again until FINALLY, I reached an answering machine from 1992, that disconnected my call mid message. I called yet again and FINALLY reached Corey who was by far one of the rudest and most unprofessional jackasses I have had the "honor" to speak to. I should have had a service call scheduled yesterday by 9:00 a.m., but due to a clerical error a BRHW, the request was supposedly not sent until 4pm. So now It is going to snow tomorrow and my family has been without heat and hot water for 3 days. I desperately need someone to come out Yesterday, but Corey from Pace &Sons has no interest in servicing a home in the mountains, as I'm certain he would miss a meal and lord knows he does not like his meal interrupted. Save your time & money as "customer service" is not in this companies vocabulary. read more

Our boiler was not heating and with 3 little girls and cold weather we were so happy he was able to come the very next day and even earlier in the day than we had originally thought. I was referred to Pace & Sons from a good friend who is a realtor and owns several rental properties himself. He told me he has used Corey for some time for his HVAC needs and that he has highly recommended him to others over the years who need an honest diagnosis of their system. My 20 yr old furnace was leaking a little Co2 so it was important that my furnace be replaced as soon as possible. He came right over, diagnosed the problem, and spent some time going over his recommendations for my replacement furnace, electronic air cleaner and Reme-Halo air purifier. I also replaced my air conditioner that was getting up in years and not running too efficiently. I am impressed with his knowledge of systems and products available, his many years' experience in this field, his valuable recommendations, as well as his installation skills and work ethic. He ordered the parts, arrived promptly as soon as they had arrived, and spent a long day and a half completing the installation. He is reliable, honest, and knowledgeable about products, building code requirements, installation of many types and brands of HVAC systems. His family owned company has been here in the Denver area for many years. I am so pleased to have found a reliable local, family owned company. I would not hesitate to recommend him. I contacted Mr. Corey Pace of Pace&Sons Mechanical to set up an appointment to have my furnace looked at for some suggestions on fixing a few issues. Mr. Pace stated on the phone that it would cost me $90 for the estimate and that $90 would be applied to the work done. The tech Mr. Pace sent was very professional and showed me what could be done. He stated that I would receive an estimate via email later that day. At that time I did provide the tech a check for $90. A few days later, I called Mr. Pace to set up an appointment to have the work done. I reviewed with him the total cost and that the $90 would be applied to the total. Mr. Pace then stated that the $90 was only applied to the work if done that day. I explained I did not have the estimate until later that day which would make it impossible to have the work done that day. I also reminded him that he did not state that in the phone conversation. The tech had given me a business card of Pace&Sons and on the bottom of the card it stated Free Estimate. I told that to Mr. Pace as well and he said that was only if you buy a new furnace. There were a few things on the back of the card as well stating $30 off service repair, etc.. When I brought that to Mr. Pace's attention, he became rude and unprofessional so I decided to end the conversation. I believe he falsely advertises and as a professional business owner, his customer service skills are very unprofessional. I have reported the company to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office of Colorado in the Department of fraud under the Consumer Protection Act. I would get everything in writing if you decide to use this company. read more
