When that didn't work after an hour, I messaged back and they got me on the schedule for the next day (it was already 5pm by this time. They came promptly during the window and gave me heads up, figured out the issue in less than 15 minutes, and gave me a range of options and prices. He actually taught me several things about the AC and showed me how to do some repairs myself and where to get parts, and lo and behold it worked like a charm! Couldn't be happier with the quality, speed, and friendliness of the service. Got my AC pumping ice cold air in time to get the house cool for my kids' naps. Davey will absolutely be my go-to from now on and I would recommend them to anyone and everything.

Absolutely avoid if you want an honest assessment or technician willing to work. I confirmed in advance that we wanted our sewer line cleaned to comply with our inspection during our home sale. The technician came out and said he was going to scope it first, not the service we asked for, and then told my husband repeatedly it didn't need to be cleaned. I later got an email with a recommendation for a cleaning at $1400 and a bill for $154 for scoping the line. I already have an appointment to have the line scoped after the cleaning tomorrow by the original company who scoped it. Never asked for a scope, asked for a cleaning. I've attached the communication that they could do the cleaning while in site. Really challenging when the technician said no cleaning necessary, no repairs necessary and then sends an estimate for recommended cleaning and repair. Moving on to the next company who can maybe do the work we hire for and not waste hours of our time and now days.

I would sum up my experiences with 1st Call Heating & Air with one word: Excellence!!! The first time I called upon 1st Call Heating & Air my furnace had been "drowned" by a water leak in my home. I dreaded the task of finding a trustworthy and skilled company. Setting an appointment was easy and I was kept informed regarding their ETA. Owner Bill McGovern arrived at my home and not only assessed the situation quickly, he took the extra step to take video of the active water damage to provide to my insurance company. This saved me any insurance hassle regarding "proof of loss". During the evaluation, removal and install of a new system Bill was informative, right down to drawing a diagram of how my furnace filter should be installed. The entire experience was top notch and prices were highly competitive and fair even though my insurance company was paying the bill. This impressed me beyond measure. My past experiences with heating and A/C companies were marked by overcharges and billing for "broken" parts that were not broken. You can trust 1st Call Heating to be 100% fair and honest!!!! My system was installed approx. 2 years ago. My home water damage claim was a crazy time and I had never subscribed to or posted a yelp review. Yesterday I called 1st Call Heating and received the exact same responsive and trustworthy service as well as care and concern for the freezing temperatures we would be having the next day. These guys are awesome! At the time of service I was out of town for military training and my wife was at home with our 8 month old. The furnace stopped blowing warm air and it was about 10 degrees and snowing outside which were dropping temps in our home down in the low 40s. Needless to say that's way to cold for comfort and I was getting worried about my wife and son as well as the chance for pipes to start freezing if it got much colder. A family member told us about 1st Call with nothing but good things to say about them. Eric with 1st Call came out and fixed our furnace which needed a new high limit switch, filter, and a good cleaning. We were charged as originally quoted by 1st Call which was about 25% of what the company at www.patriotpros.com quoted (Let me take a moment to say, patriot pros deploys unethical tactics and tried to take advantage of our predicament of needing heat, do not ever call patriot pros located in Castle Rock, Co). Back to the company that matters, Eric with 1st call was very professional and got our furnace back on its feet in no time. He didn't try to up-sell my wife on needless maintenance or try take advantage of us in our predicament. I will be a 1st Call customer for as long as we live in their service area. About a month after Bill helped me with my 14-year-old A/C unit, the unit stopped working. I called Bill and he gave me a few ideas to try out over the phone. I bought new fuses and as soon as I replaced them, I heard a bad crackling noise coming from my unit and the fuses immediately blew. When I called Bill the next morning, he told me he hated to say it, but the unit needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of how much it would be and told me to take some time to think about it. It was a very reasonable price and he also said he'd take out the cost of what he charged me for the first service call - the first time he came out, he suspected the unit might have been near its end, but replaced the fuses and freon in hopes that it would solve the problem and keep me from needing to replace the entire unit. I couldn't believe it! When he and Tony came to install the new unit (the same day I called!), they were fully prepared and managed to finish the job in an impressive 1.5 hours - which included removing my old unit and filling out paperwork! The new unit is working like a charm and I'm extremely thankful. Bill and his team are honest and hardworking - I'd never use anybody else! read more

I honestly don't even know where to begin! Bill was extremely informative from the second I spoke to him on the phone! I was very impressed from the get go and even more satisfied when he took the time to visit my home to inspect our situation days before our scheduled appointment. Not only was the price phenomenal, (In fact, we paid half of what everyone else quoted us) he was very honest and thorough, explaining all of his work to us so we have the knowledge for future situations. I had water leaking from my AC system along with only mildly cold air blowing. Two other companies quoted me $1200 and more. I came across Yelp and since 1st Call Heating and Air had so many excellent reviews, I called and talked with Bill. He immediately tried to give me some ideas to correct the problem even though this was the first time I had called. After it was determined what I needed to repair my AC system; Bill called me back in ten minutes and the quote he gave, which included everything, was almost half of what the other two companies had quoted me. Bill and his assistant had my system up and running promptly and blowing very cold air again. Bill also did some extra things for me that he thought my AC system needed and didn't charge me anything more than the original quote. Wonderful customer service! Bill came out and fixed the problem quickly and professionally. I appreciate the honest as he could have told us we needed a new water heater when it was really a pipe above the water heater. This saved us alot of money and prevented a possible flood in our basement. We will be going back to 1st Call for any future heating and cooling needs. Thank you for all your help. Updated. I called 1st Heating and Air last minute to fix my furnace fan. I wasn't expecting that they would be able to come that day, but they did. My furnace is pretty old, an original in our house of about 35 yrs. They told me the switch on the fan needed replacing. Since I am in the process of selling my house, he said that if I needed to replace the entire furnace after inspection that he would take the cost of the switch off the cost of a new furnace! Cool! But that's not what made me give them a 5 star rating. His co-worker found a big rusted out hole in the hot water heater ventilation that was causing a carbon monoxide leak in our home. I'm pregnant and have a 9-yr.-old. We didn't have carbon monoxide detectors installed--very freaky! Without hesitation they went to Ace for the parts and fixed it immediately and only changed me for parts. These guys are genuine and care about their clients! read more

The guys at 1st Call replaced my air conditioner yesterday, and I have to say I couldn't be happier. I called them at about 10am, and even though they are about as far across town as you can get from me, Bill was at my house within 90 minutes to check it out. He didn't charge me for the diagnosis, which I appreciated, and quoted me what seemed to be a very fair price for the repair. Fairly shortly after he left, I decided to go ahead with the replacement. I called them back to get on their schedule, and to my amazement, by a little after 2pm, Bill and Eric were back with my new A/C unit. Both of them were courteous and professional, and had the replacement done far faster than I expected. This contractor is as good as it gets. As you know it is hard for a women to recognize this, but I only have good things to say about this outfit. They are very competitive (the best price among 5 bidders), very knowledgeable, professional and at the same time very friendly, on time and did an excellent job with replacing my furnace. Didn't honey me and tried to sell me additional stuff that I didn't need, actually they saved me money with the AC, no playing games with words, extra costs, etc. If they had some challenges in the field they resolved them without wanting more money or telling me that is not included in the bid. We called 1st Call Heating and Air for a second opinion after another company wanted to charge us $1900-$2400 to fix a broken zone valve for our old boiler. We called late afternoon and next morning Bill was early at our house. He was very nice and knowledgeable, gave us a way better estimate than the other company that wanted to replace a bunch other things too. We know that our boiler is an antique that probably doesn't have much lifetime left, but Bill never tried to sell us a new system or get us to replace a whole bunch of parts which is the first thing a lot of companies would do, that's why when the time comes for a new system Bill will be the person we would call. I have a very old air unit that stopped working. Selected 1st Call from the recommendation of the Yelp reviews and wow, every single word was right! They were here on time, was incredibly informative - very patient in explaining and visually showing me how the unit worked and the problems involved. Actually was able to fix the problem and suggested I hang on to the unit until it gives out!! No sales pitch, no push to purchase anything. This gentleman also checked my second unit to make sure it was functioning properly. He even went to check my filters (and didn't scold me on how dirty they were). I have used 1st Call twice now and have never been happier. I only call on Bill and not because I don't trust his other staff, but he is such an amazing nice and HONEST guy. A few years ago he could have told me to spend thousands on parts I didn't need, but instead he simply blew into a hose to release a pressure valve and not only told me that's all it was but spend more time to teach me how it works and to solve my own problems! So when I blew a motherboard and a motor in a short circuit event he was the first person I called and he was once again fantastic, fast, knowledgeable, super nice, and wouldn't dare overcharge me or anyone else. Our heater went out in the middle of the night, so first thing yesterday morning we started calling for help. The first place we called, which I will not name, had no availability and also no interest in helping. We then called Bill and his team. Best decision we made. Bill fixed our 15 year old air conditioner last summer when we thought it was worn out and done. Instead of a around $10,000 air conditioner replacement the cost for repair was less than $200. Yesterday 10/27/2021 our heater went out, Bill came in a few hours, (AMAZING) and fixed the furnace and control thermostat in short order for a price that was very very reasonable, less than we ever expected. Made a call to Bill at 9:30 on a Thursday, with a non working furnace on a freezing night. I had replaced the flame sensor and limit switch myself, but now the gas wasn't even lighting. Bill called me back within 10 minutes, I sent him a picture. He mentioned the "hockey puck" vacuum part, and I saw immediately it had come off the induction motor. Like most people, I always fear the process of trying to find an honest company/people when I need repairs, as I know little about HVAC. Michael was a class act. Recently moved into a new home without a humidifier on the furnace. I got three estimates, one from Bill (owner) and two others from more corporate types of companies. Bill did the job for $1,000 when the other estimates were over $3,000. Exact same humidifier for all three. He did it quickly and flawlessly. Really grateful and pleased with them. We found out our heat exchanger in our furnace was cracked on a friday. We were frantically trying to find a company to replace our furnace but the earliest appointment we could get was the following Tuesday. That meant 4 days with no heat (not great for our little ones). However, I talked to 1st call, they said they would see what they could do. No one likes having to call for heating and air condition service, I always think I am going to get ripped off for services that are not needed. This was NOT the case when I worked with 1st Call. I got great service from Aquanet the office manager, she quickly got me an appointment with Bill to service my AC unit. What was the best was Joe did a great job of educating you on what is important in HVAC. He didn't try to sell you some warranty or "yearly maintenance plan" like other HVAC places. He installed the units quickly and with expertise. He also noticed a pipe was leaking on the hot water heater and fixed/welded a new pipe at no charge. The whole experience was easy and made a not so fun purchase much more enjoyable. This company is the heating and AC company my builder used for my new build home. My blower motor…read morewent out twice and has been replaced in less than two years. Being naïve, I kept going back to this company. A week later, Surprise! My blower motor went out again on my AC unit. I yet again called them, they essentially told me they don't have time for me and they are focusing on warranty work only at this time and my 1 year warranty expired. They told me to find someone else to do the work. I found a great company called Peak Home Performance that does what they do. Jeff the Service Rep went through the whole system and gave me a report saying they installed most of the AC and Furnace incorrectly. He asked to see the report that Golden heating has performed when they fixed the blower motor the last two times. "Well guess what, they do not provide this to you". I told him they didn't give me anything. He then told me I should go back to the company that did this install as Golden should stand by this work and cover the labor as my 2 year old unit is covered under warranty. Well I called them and I think their only customer service reps name is Lisa? Anyways she told me they can't do anything because I'm out of warranty. She said that I should have told them about the installation being installed wrong so they could have fixed it under warranty. If you are following. I am at this point like "WTF"? I'm not a technical person at all. I have no idea what I'm looking at or know if it is correct. I'm assuming you installed it correctly. Anyways, I ended the conversation friendly and called Peak Home Performance to come and fix Goldens mistake. $2,700 later. My AC unit is working better than it has have been before! Thanks to Peak Home Performance. Any who, I have 4 other neighbors that had the same issue and they are paying a small fortune to have a real AC company fix Goldens mistakes. So if there is anyone else who feels like they got "got". Please send more reviews like this so we can look into a class action against this company.
