Twice I have had my dog stay here and both times he left with medical issues. This latest time they let his paws get burnt by having him stand out in the sun on artificial turf so bad he needed vet attention. Worst part was they didn't even tell me about it on pick up. Ok, the good the bad and the beautiful. Their prices are ok, but for decent quality I would expect to not pay rock bottom either. My dog Brynn, HATES having her nails trimmed. In fact I avoid it so much they had grown out to look more like Dracula claws than anything. This is the 3rd time I have brought her in. Every time she does just fine with them. She probably knows I'm a sucker, so plays like it's killing her when I do it. Bottom line is they got her in and out fast and clipped them right to the quick. Much better than I would have. Others I have taken prior pets to, will clip a certain length only and leave the rest to grow longer fora repeat visit sooner. The ladies are kind and nice to converse with while you wait. DO NOT BOARD YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!!! What were your employees doing for the four days my dog was in your care, because they clearly were not caring for my animal. Belle was at the vet just before boarding with you, she was in perfect health. She had no skin breakdown. Four days at your boarding facility and upon picking her up I had to take her to the emergency vet where she had to be sedated she was in so much pain having her wounds cleaned. Horrible customer service. I made an appointment for my dog's haircut. When I showed up at the appointed time, turns out they failed to enter my appointment into the computer and had no time slot for my dog. OK, I made another appointment several weeks later, for 8 AM. When I showed up at the appointed time, at 8 AM, the doors were locked and the sign said their hours are 1 PM - 4 PM. OK, I came back at 1 PM. They told me my appointment was at 8 AM. I said I did come at 8 AM and they were closed. No response and no time slot for my dog's haircut. Definitely not professional. We had read great reviews about this boarding. I called this morning to schedule a visit before we dropped off our pet. The morning staff said we can come anytime. At 5pm was just fine because both my husband and I work full time. Well the evening staff would not allow a visit. Story is changing. We asked to speak to a manager or an owner and nobody was available. Evening staff lady was very rude. She hung up on me once and then said "ma'am, I've already told you 3 times you cannot visit after 5" even though I had scheduled this with the morning operator. Asking for an Owner or a manager to please reach out to me. The rude evening lady has my contact information. This is no way to run a boarding. Makes me wonder what they are trying to hide while they are "short staffed" and had "lots to clean up" right now. read more

First AND Last Time to Board Here I boarded my cat for a week and the staff basically starved him. I left instructions on his feeding schedule which was very self explanatory. He lost half a pound in just a week which is very dangerous for an animal. I even came to the facility for a tour before boarding him and explained his feeding schedule. If it was going to be a problem, they should have informed me at that time. Every time I think of him being there, crying out to be fed and totally being ignored, it literally brings me to tears. I was sick to my stomach when I picked him up. He was so sad and just clinging to me out of fear! This place clearly needs to have EXTENSIVE training on how to care for animals. Or better yet just close their business. I wish I would have read the reviews on yelp because I would have never used them for boarding. read more

I am new to the area. Pacetti had same week available appointments and I like that you drop the dog off in the morning and then I was called to discuss his cut and then they called me to pick him up mid day. Hair cut was perfect. My dog seems very happy. The pricing is just right. I will continue to use them for my dog Chase and I definitely recommend them. read more

We have used the pet spa for our schnoodle several times. He loves this place. He always come back happy and full of energy. They let the dogs play with other dogs their size for up to two hours each day. They also are great about keeping track of his stuff. I left his favorite blanket behind last time and when I returned for it they had it washed....luv these people. read more

I am editing my review because they have a new groomer. The former groomer Lisa was good and liked animals. I have my 2 Maltese visit every 2 weeks for a bath, blow outand comb and supposedly nail and paws. The new groomer Tracy is not only rude but shows no interest in the pets. She also sends them home with mats they did not have before their visit. It seems they are created with their shampoo as this happens with Maltese. She also does not touch the hair on their paws leaving their paws looking unkept and wild. Lisa, the previous groomer at this spa always kept them looking so good- the good days are in the past. The attention to detail is lacking and apparently Tracy is not experienced in grooming long haired dogs. I comb my dogs out daily as well as prior to their groom (with a $50 brush so that I can backcomb and ensure I comb and get all mats out) and she says they have mats they do not have, I assume to charge more money. As a matter of fact, we went to a new groomer today after the bad experience with Tracey at Pacetti and they confirmed that our dogs are not matted and are maintained very well between visits. Tracy and Pacetti, this is not the way to treat customers that loyally come in every two weeks. When the undercoat has no mats and you comb backwards daily, then check front ways and check with the fingers and the fur feels like silk when you run fingers through it, this means there are no mats. I spend an hour a day on their hair. No mats. Heed my advise, Seek a different groomer, they went downhill when Lisa left and Tracy is not a person you want taking care of your babies between her disinterest and lack of grooming skills. #pacettiroadpetspa #badgroomer We have been going there for 1 1/2 years every 2 weeks. When I called to cancel my permanent appointments, the receptionist said he would tell the owner. The owner never was even courteous enough to call me and apologize for the bad experience. Our appointment with a specific groomer for our 2 dogs was set 3 weeks ahead but they switched one of the dogs to a different groomer. Dropped off dogs at 7:45 and said there was no hurry but that I would be back "2ish" - called at 2:15 and one dog had not even been groomed yet - finally ready for pick up near 4. Left specific instructions for our Schnauzer which were clearly ignored as none were followed. Grooming on the second dog was incomplete. This was our first visit and as nice as the physical facility presents we were more than disappointed with the grooming and the customer service. We will not go back. read more

What a way to wrap up a year! Just had a very unpleasant experience trying to bring my two small/medium size dogs to the spa to get a quick nail trim, which we have been doing for years at this location. A lady at the front desk was completely unaccommodating and didn't want to reason with me saying they are too busy and I should take my business elsewhere. I told her that I'm willing to wait, and that the trim only takes a few minutes and we have been coming here in the same fashion for years. She would have none of it. She told me that Luke and Michael, both managers of the place, are not there but wholeheartedly agree with her sending their long time boarding and vet customer to another business to get the services performed. Pretty poor customer service as far as I'm concerned and nobody is willing to go the extra mile. Sadly. Happy New Year! read more

I see most the negative reviews are about the grooming so I wanted to chime in on the boarding. We have a pure breed lab and a lab mix. We have boarded at two other locations around St. Augustine and feel very strongly that our animals receive the best treatment here. We have brought our puppy and kitty here for both daycare and boarding multiple times. Always had a good experience. Our puppy is always excited to check in and the people at the desk are always excited to see him. I know he loves swimming in the pool and seeing the other dogs. The folks in charge are always friendly and have squeezed him in when sudden emergencies pop up. Can't review the groomer as we haven't really used her services. read more

I have been bringing my 85 lb. pit bull, Rambo to Pacetti for 2 years for daycare, boarding and baths. It is truly the best doggy daycare around St. Augustine. When we moved here, I tried 4 other daycare's and all of them either never let him out to play, told me he would have to play alone and one asked me not to bring him back - all because he is a pit bull. Rambo is a gentle giant and the entire staff at Pacetti took him in and love him as I do. The staff is young and play with all of the dogs in their care. They are truly exceptional and I would highly recommend them if you are in need of doggy care. read more

We travel the country painting and repairing flagpoles with a1flagandpole.com and have a 60 lb beagle mix and a mean lil 11 lb chijuaujua. 2 years we found this place for boarding and brought them back this year. They are so good. open at 7am so we can either be on the job or kayaking the inlet. We love em. They are so clean and seem to spend so much time with the dogs. I am writing this to give an honest, and fair assessment of the boarding facilities at Pacetti Road Pet Spa. I hope that you use caution in dealing with Pacetti Road Pet Spa, and please ask to see where your dog will actually be staying. I cannot speak for the technicians work because I was not there to see the interaction with my animal, and can only assume their employment is based on good record. I asked to see the accommodations for my dog and was shown a satisfactory setting on the first floor. Then, when I asked to see the actual space my pet would be housed in, I was taken to an active construction zone on the second level. The floor was unfinished plywood and was not safe for a person's bare foot let alone an animal's. I was assured there would be no swinging hammers. There were about 20 "runs" that were smaller than the first floor facilities and that thankfully covered the dog's space, until, they led directly out onto the unfinished plywood floor for each entrance and exit. When I arrived to pick up my dog I asked how she behaved, and the desk attendant mentioned that she could not comment, I was told by her that they would have "ordered something" if they needed to modify the dog's behavior. Please keep in mind that, your animals boarding space could be misrepresented, the secondary housing is in an active construction zone with unfinished floors, and they will take liberty to medicate your animal if behavior modification is deemed necessary. I hope that pet owners who care about their animals will not be misled and your animal will not have the opportunity to be mistreated by Pacetti Road Pet Spa. read more

I was new to the area and thought I'd let Pacetti groom my Havapoo while boarding. What a mistake! I do try to keep up with combing out the matting of her ears. The groomer must have decided she wasn't going to deal with any matting issues and decided to cut almost all the hair off of her ears. She now looks horrible. Doesn't even look like my dog. She looks like the face of a sheep. She is 7 years old and has had many grooming sessions over the years and has never ever looked so badly after a grooming. This groomer did a good job on the body of my dog and her tail but is either too lazy or is inexperienced as to how to groom a dogs face and ears. read more

We were overall pleased with the facility, but I am giving Pet Spa three stars because we were told that pictures of our puppy (and the other dogs) would be posted on Facebook during his stay and that did not happen. This was my first visit to Pet Spa. My review is very similar to Darlene A. with the exception that I did not leave my dog there. Without even looking at my dog closely the groomer's assessment was that he is matted and would have to be shaved down. While he does have mats, he is not overly matted. I, too, have been using a dematting tool as well as a grooming comb. It is obviously easier and faster to shave a dog down than to spend time grooming it. When I asked when he would be finished, she told me that there are eight dogs ahead of him and it would not be until around 1 pm. Seeing how upset he was in the cage, I asked if I could bring him back when she was ready. Her response was: "That is not how we do it here". I then took him home and will not be returning. I will either find another place or learn to groom him on my own. read more

Our normally shy and skittish standard poodle girl was clearly sad to go - she was especially responsive to Drew - and she is never responsive right away to men! Both dogs had a great time - they are tired today - not normal for them - after two very active days at the spa. They were also extremely accommodating of our last minute requests. I was referred to Pacetti Pet Spa by a friend. What a great place for dogs. I swear that my 80lb American Pit Bull Terrier Duke looked better when I picked him up than when I dropped him off. I was a little worried because my dog does not play well with others, but the staff gives each dog an individual play time in the yard and pool area. I had a friend visit during his week long stay and I was told "your dog looks really happy, he hardly paid attention to me, he was having too much fun running around the yard and swimming in the pool." I have been using this pet spa for at least a year or more with very satisfactory results for my German Shepherd. I made our appt for his deshedding, bath,nail trim w/drumel filing them to a very smooth nail & ear cleaning, I was informed that Lisa was no longer there and they have a new groomer Tracy. I'm always hesitant to use a new groomer but I trusted Pacetti's. BIG mistake! This was definitely the worse grooming he's received! We left very specific notes on what I wanted done which one of the owners admitted "they obviously completely ignored". He said to bring my Shepherd back he would have two other people who were qualified to file/drumel his nails as they should have been done in the first visit, which we did. End result(s) was terrible! My GS was not completely deshedding, he was not bath properly, one nail was filed down to the "quick" which bled which really upset me, but as I was tending to his bleeding nail I noticed that the groomer had done a "sanitizing" trim. I Did Not Want that done nor did I ask for it but it is "without a doubt" a "hack job"!! I could not believe how BAD this was done! Cuts were made in random places on the inside of his thighs, blunt, chopping cuts were made & he was completely shaved in some areas. When I called the pet spa to tell them about his bleeding nail I also told them about the "sanitizing hack job" and asked if this new groomer was fairly new at grooming, because I could not imagine an experienced groomer would do such a bad job! But "No, she's been grooming for 14 to 20 years! REALLY!! Needless to say I wanted a refund because I would not be bringing my Pure Breed G. Shepherd back! I have to go back over him & deshed him and get him bathed again because he (specially his head) still smelled as though he did when we first took him in. MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO NOT TAKE YOUR PET IN TO BE GROOMED WHILE THIS NEW GROOMER IS THERE!! read more
