I'm a returning customer but list this as 4 stars due to certain charges with purchases. Prices went up - ok, inflation etc. Filling a canister of beans was $25, now its $30. However, they now have added a charge to pay with a debit/credit card. No other coffee shop does this. I remain a returning customer for various reasons & do recommend their coffee. It's delicious & smooth, organic, farmer owned, baristas are never rude/weird, can make educated recommendations on various roasts, & they don't burn the milk if making a drink that includes steamed milk. I came in here last week and my experience was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had at a coffee shop. I tried the Criollo Cacao Mocha and my friends got the Lavender Matcha Latte. Both of our drinks had literally no taste. I could barely taste the spice but other than that, there was no taste to the drink at all. The lavender matcha wasn't any better. I only give two stars because the customer service was good and they drew little hearts and smiley faces on our cups. read more

We went here and the barista was so nice and the ambience was very good as well. However, both of our drinks were seriously lacking. My warm vanilla bean latte was barely sweet and then my partners *Iced* Vanilla bean latte tasted like straight up milk with ice..we were both shocked. We paid close to $6 for a drink to taste like iced milk in a cup. I'm a barista and a regular two shot latte shouldn't taste like ~just~ milk I don't think we will be back. read more

This place is amazing!!!!!! If you're looking for great customer service, sustainability, craft and care--from coffee sourcing all the way to coffee brewing-- Pachamama is the place to go. I came during covid era but man oh man if we weren't in a full blown pandemic and sitting/studying was allowed, this coffee shop would be a clean and perfect get together/workspace. I love how transparent they are with where their coffee beans are sourced, where the farms are, and who their farmers are. Everything is sustainably and ethically sourced! The coffee itself was absolutely delicious. The barista who took my order was incredibly friendly and gave me great recommendations based on my flavor palette. I ended up getting a pour over with single origin beans from Mexico. The barista grinded the beans and brewed to order, and the coffee was smooth, rich, and offered a sweet chocolately finish. All in all, a wonderful coffee drinking experience. For anyone who loves coffee, the experience, and everything in between, this is the place to go. read more

Ordered an Americano and sat inside to enjoy my drink. The drink was very good. The service was very good. Nothing against pets or animals, but a customer walks in with her dog. My "mocha latte w/ an extra shot". My girlfriend went in and ordered and was told "they couldn't add an extra shot to a smaller size", even though it was requested. It had way too much chocolate in it. TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE to be a hot chocolate. The powder tastes great don't get me wrong, but it was powdery and chalk full of chocolate. So my girlfriend went back and explained about my dissatisfaction and asked for another. The cashier ordered someone to make another one... with an extra shot. The second drink also had wayy to much chocolate powder. It still was too chocolatey even if it was a "hot chocolate". Wow! I stirred it, and stirred it, went home and added milk. Still not a trace of coffee assuming there was less chocolate and an extra shot now on the second attempt. I like this place though and my other drinks have been GREAT! - - the lids to the PLASTIC CUPS used for the iced drinks LEAK ALL OVER THE PLACE and make a mess.. I just want to let someone know. It's hard to stand out as a great coffee spot in Davis because there are just so many options, but Pachamama is unbeaten. As in I'm there every single day. Their cold brew is the smoothest and most consistent I've ever had, love that they fill their own growlers of it to take home.
