Popped by here for an afternoon of studying and got an iced hojicha latte with 10g of honey syrup. The atmosphere is lovely and open and the barista who helped me was very sweet and communicative (they even added more honey for me after I'd drank half of it and the ice was melting). Also, the hojicha latte was perfect and the amount of sweetener was also perfect for me. I love that they let you customize it to your liking. Love their pandan latte. If you sip without a straw you'll miss the pandan flavor on top. Once you stir it you'll taste it but it's subtle. You can definitely tell the flavor is made in house. The coconut toffee on top reminds me of a childhood candy, so good. Milk of choice are whole, oat or almond. Perfect amount of ice and good quality coffee! Will definitely get this one again. Came here a little while ago to study and the vibes are impeccable! I love what they've done with the space. It's spacious and bright inside. Downside is that there doesn't seem to be AC, so it was quite warm inside. I ordered a matcha pandan which I noticed was whisked fresh. The drink featured a house-made pandan syrup and was topped with latik (a Filipino ingredient often used in desserts and is cooked down coconut-milk). I was super impressed by their latik! It tasted legit but was crispy and not oily which is not the usual for latik. Overall, the matcha was subtle in flavor, but the drink made for a nice study treat! I ordered one to take home. The ambiance of this place is open, modern, and airy with a lot windows and natural sunlight. There are so many succulent plants lining the windows and around the cafe which adds a cute touch. I love that there was tons of seating! When I went on a rainy and windy Saturday afternoon there were tons of college students studying and it was quiet inside and pretty much all the seats were filled. Their menu had normal coffee drinks and lattes such as Americano, cappuccino, mocha, jasmine and earl grey tea. They also had unique drinks such as miso caramel latte, pandan latte, matcha pandan latte, matcha and hojicha. In addition, they had a spring seasonal menu and their current specials were a mango matcha drink and passion fruit espresso drink with tonic water. I ordered the hojicha latte with oat milk with light sweetener and light ice. They had options of whole milk, almond, or oat milk for milk. The cashier told me light ice meant there was going to be more oat milk. It was $5.80 which is cheaper than most cafes for hojicha however the quality wasn't as great as other cafes I've been to. The hojicha latte lacked flavor and tasted oily and didn't have the nutty flavor I'm used to but I still finished it. They usually have two bathrooms and they only had one available and sometimes you had to wait in a line for 20 min since there was so many people in the cafe which is inconvenient. Hopefully, they have the other bathroom fixed soon. Overall, it's a nice cafe with nice ambiance and some unique drink selections but I was not satisfied with the hojicha latte as there was no flavor. At least the prices are lower than other cafes. While in Davis we decided to stop by Frenzy Coffee. It was super crowded. Every table was taken ranging from students to adults. Even a couple of dogs. It was also very warm inside. The baristas were all very nice in giving their recommendations and insight about this combo as it's not a commonly ordered item. Such a cute spot! The interior decorations are so cute and calming here. There's a lot of sunlight that comes in, so the space is bright and inviting. They really utilized the space well! Went to check out Frenzy today and was impressed with the spacious size of this cafe. There is a lot of room for hanging out here. The cafe is broken up into three sections - the coffee bar in the middle, and 2 large areas to sit. There is a long table section that is great if you have a device as there are numerous outlets for you to charge your phone, tablet, or laptop. I found the interior of this cafe to be well lit and decorated - just an awesome ambiance! The menu of coffee isn't the largest, but they do have their own specialties that you can customize with the kind of milk you like. I went for their vanilla latte in the larger 16oz size. To go with it I got a chocolate croissant. The latte was decent, but certainly not the best I've had. It's too bad that they only have to-go cups as it would have been nice to enjoy the coffee in a proper cup while hanging out in the cafe. The chocolate croissant pasty wasn't anything special. The servers didn't give me an option to have it toasted or warmed, so I was a bit disappointed at that. Chocolate croissants are best when the chocolate is melted within the crisp pasty. As it came to me, the pastry was soft with the chocolate hard. So if you're looking for one of the best cafes to hang out or study at, Frenzy is probably the place for you. Frenzy Coffee is such a cute spot that I found thanks to TikTok! I gave my friend a ride to school at UC Davis and decided to stop by and check it out while I waited for her to finish class. This place was so cute with their green tiling, plants, natural lighting, and a wide open space. I don't live around here, but if I did, this would be the coffee shop I'd go to read a book or study. It's really cute and airy and that's where the positives end. They had 3 people working on drinks and it still took almost 10 minutes to get my drink. I got a mocha and it didn't taste like anything? I heard they only do one shot for lattes so that makes sense. It wasn't chocolate-y and the coffee flavor wasn't there. I'm a matcha lover and can tell they have quality matcha powder because the drinks come out a nice shade of green and tastes smooth. They recently released a Black Sesame Matcha for the winter season, I enjoyed the sesame cream top, it had an earthy/nutty flavor with a hint of sweetness.
