Having tried every coffee shop in Davis a few years back, Pachamama was by far my favorite. The perfect blend of a powdered chocolate and single origin espresso beans from all over, Pachamama makes an excellent well balanced mocha. Originally having it at the now art gallery, I was sad to see it close and excited when it reopened right next to Village Bakery. Now I have another reason to visit Davis again. Such friendly baristas behind the coffee bar. The atmosphere is light and pleasant, and their coffee is rich and bold. I love their current spring menu that includes speciality lattes with various floral tones. The rose cardamon and the lavender latte are delicate flavors infused in the lattes. Such an amazing coffee to grab to-go. This place has dog-friendly seating outside too if you want to read a book, drink some coffee, and allow your pet to bask in the sun on a nice breezy morning. The location is nice because it's in downtown and down the block from the train station. I will say that the wonderful coffee does come at a higher price to match their quality. The mission statement of their coffee and the regions the coffee comes from is good effort and it's truly worth it to pay the additional cost of an ethical cup of coffee. read more

This is about our 10th time coming to the Davis location. We absolutely loved their Spring menu, specifically their Lavender Latte and Rose Latte. Their syrups were lovely, but we like a heavier floral taste so we always asked for extra syrup! And that came at no extra charge. Today we tried their Summer menu. We got their Honey Bear Cold Brew and Maple & Brown Sugar Cold Brew. My partner and I enjoy creamier drinks with more espresso, so we asked if we can get those Summer menu items as lattes rather than cold brew drinks. The barista was very kind and said of course! She actually recommended the request. The Honey Bear latte (changed dairy to oat milk) has a very good cinnamon taste, not too overpowering, but the honey doesn't really come through. It compliments the cinnamon, but you don't get that full honey taste. The Maple & Brown Sugar latte is definitely sweet. So I would not recommend if you don't like your coffee drinks on the sugary side. But I quite like it! It's creamy, especially with oat milk, and has a great maple taste. I enjoyed it a lot! But if you're looking for a a lighter and more refreshing drink for summer, the cold brew version would definitely be better because it is a heavier latte. read more

Favorite stop when I head to the SF from Sacramento. It's a short drive off the freeway but worth a stop. I always bring cash to avoid a credit card fee. Payed 14$ for two large specialty lattes with oat milk ( I always only get two shots of espresso the larger size has 4). I should note that the beans are organic. I see others frustrated with the price but feel the taste is worth it and it is similar to the cost at other chain coffee houses. The baristas are always kind and friendly. read more

The one sentence summary is: Too expensive for what you get. I did go here 5 or 6 times before finally deciding it wasn't worth it anymore. Credit card fee on top of ridiculous prices: I get it, the bank is the enemy. But put that cost on the menu price. Nobody carries cash anymore. Lattes and other espresso drinks: What you would expect. Creamy with a hint of coffee, and plenty of sugar if you get one of their flavored drinks. Black coffee: Medium roast was on the darker side and fairly bitter without cream. A touch of cream brings out the caramel and dark cherry they were probably going for. Without cream I really struggle, especially with the last few sips. Not something I want from a $4.50 cup. Cold brew: This is what I usually get here. It's pretty good but sooo overpriced. Service: Employees are fine, I question management. Only one person working during the morning is a red flag. Even if the other person is on break you should have a supervisor or something to cover that. I understand they're trying to use a business model that is good for the farmers, but I'm not a charity. If the cost was 20% higher than the competition I would understand. But it's like 50% more or even double. read more

Tried the Iced Americano and the Cafecito De Ollo (a Winter specialty). The Americano was VERY good and the Cafecito was different. Would get the Cafecito next time but would add almond milk or something to it to make it pop a little more. Very clean establishment and apparently they roast their coffee beans daily. read more

First time here at the Davis location and will be coming back! Super friendly & helpful staff and cute interior. I got a large honey bear latte with oat milk for $7 (ahh) and it was very creamy with a subtle touch of sweetness. Came here once before but it was packed so we left for another coffee shop. This time we visited during winter break and so there was so much more seating and walking room. The interior is so cute, the big window in the shop provides great lighting and a place for people watching. I ordered from their winter seasonal drinks, I got the salted dulce de leche iced, it was definitely a 10/10. I wasn't sure what to expect, in general I tend to steer away from salted drinks but decided to give it a chance since my sister ordered a vanilla latte I wanted to get something different to try. I'd give the vanilla latte a 9/10. The dulce de leche has the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee, it wasn't too sweet nor bland. I would suggest ordering the largest cup (8) since it's only a dollar more than the small cup (7) , which was pretty small. I loved the songs they were playing, it was a nice relaxing vibe and we stayed until closing. read more

This coffee shop is pretty cute and spacious. They have a lot of seasonal items and my friend really loved her Maple brown sugar latte. The strawberry matcha is okay, i think the strawberry is very strong that overpowers the matcha taste. I would visit again to try other coffee drinks! read more

Went to Pachamama today with my girlfriend and got a double shot of espresso. It's a very clean store and friendly environment! On their wall they have a donation spot to support Ukraine which I thought was something more than just coffee. Thank you Pachamama staff and store for the great coffee! New coffee place in DT Davis. Comparable to Temple's. The coffee here is all organic so that's a plus. It's located on the corner of 2nd and G st. The environment is clean and open with seating outside. Staff were friendly and welcoming. They have shelves along the wall where you can buy coffee beans to grind & make your own coffee at home. I bought 3 bags for $40 and they threw in a drink for me on the house. They serve cold brew, pour overs, latte and seasonal specials. A bit pricey, but you do get a cup of quality coffee. I will be back. read more

This is my least favorite location of Pachamama. The service is usually poor as the staff seem more interested in socializing with one another than with assisting customers. The inside seating is minimal and not a great place to hang out.. I have still patronized occasionally when in the area, but the final straw for me on my last visit was when I ordered a couple drinks to go - one drink that came with 4 shots (large Americano) and one that came with 2 shots (latte). 4 shots is a lot for me, so I asked if that 4th shot could be added to the latte so they both had 3 shots instead. The barista said that was "fine, no problem," but later when I looked at how I was charged, I see that they charged me for an extra shot to be added to latte instead. That extra $1.50 annoyance is enough for me on top of the cons of this place already to make me not come back. When in the area, I'll just walk a little further down to go to Temple instead. read more

Honestly the best coffee shop in Davis!! Farmer owned and sustainable, this shop gives very bright and wholesome vibes - the baristas are so friendly and social, and love talking to you. The work space is really pretty, featuring wooden desk space and chairs, perfect for studying and just catching up with friends. The shop is not too loud, and is brightly lit with tons of cute plants! The outside sitting area also adds to the aesthetic, with fun and comfy chairs. The baristas work really hard on each cup of coffee, and always ask for specific preferences and cater to your liking. I love this coffee shop and it is my go to spot for drinks and to study! read more

I wanted to support a local coffee shop and saw this place as I was biking downtown. It's right on the corner so it's easy to find. The place was very clean, bright and cute. There was only one guy working but he was doing an amazing job taking orders and making drinks. I ordered the horchata cold brew and it was delicious and just what I needed after a long, hot morning. I love that this place is 100% owned and governed by farmers, especially from Latin America. I went back the next day and bought some beans and I was given a free drink! The beans were sooo good (I got the Guatemalan ones). Definitely recommend! read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in Sacramento. They always have a great selection of seasonal drinks and don't charge for alternative milks. It is a little expensive but they have a great co-op of women-owned coffee farmers and it tastes so good I don't care. read more

the service here was not great. i walked in and no one greeted me. I was behind a couple who got serviced and then I was left just standing there not being acknowledged after she went to make drinks. few mins later a man walks in and they happily greet him. he then asks a silly question "are you in line" as if I'm not standing where the foot print stickers are on the floor to the register. did the 2 baristas not think i was a customer? did i not deserve the courtesy of a greeting? ended up leaving to go to another cafe. read more

The option for any milk of your choice without being charged extra is a major plus. The space is warm and welcoming and the drinks were tasty. If you want a delightful and unique coffee experience, this is the place! As a barista myself, I appreciate a good cup of special coffee from time to time. Pachamama is a bit on the pricier side, but so worth it for the quality of the beverage you get and the customer service. The interior is so cute and the staff is so kind and helpful. There is WiFi (it's a little slow) and outdoor seating with plenty of street parking. I've had both espresso drinks as well as drip coffee here, and they're winners! I had a taste of my mom's chai latte and it's pretty strong flavor wise, if you're into that. A must try if you're in Davis! read more

Loved this small coffee shop in Davis!! Was exploring with friends and decided to try this place out. Service was AMAZING and the staff was so friendly :)) I really love how they have unique seasonal drinks and that they all sound amazing. I got the cardimon rose latte and really enjoyed it but it definitely had more of a milky flavor with strong cardimon. Overall would recommend for the vibes and supporting farmers! read more

Wow, one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had! Loved that it had a bunch of information on the walls and around the shop about where they get their beans from. My boyfriend and I were on our way back from Tahoe and this was the perfect spot for a pick me up. The barista was so lovely to chat with as well. We both loved our drinks. All the pastries were delicate and flakey. I had the focaccia with pepperoni. It seemed drizzled with hot honey, and each pepperoni seemed to be toasted or baked consistently on certain side. I get the ham sandwich too, and the bread is soft yet crispy. Outside seating but it was really nice on cloudy morning. I've been on sunny days where they put on the awning for extra shade. I'm not sure about the other drinks, but I've only gotten the Dubliner, which is reminiscent of Guinness but smooth cold brew. Service is pleasant and staff clean each table after you leave. Honestly, my absolute favorite place to get French pasties for overall service and how everything is purposefully done.

You can add toppings for $1 each or pay for their topping combos. We found this poke bowl to not be the best value since no toppings were included in the price of the bowel. My husband was not a huge fan of the fish and said it did not taste like the poke he used to eat growing up in Hawaii. He said it was lacking Hawaiian salt. * Soft shell crab sushi wrap $16.50 - Huge sushi wrap split in two! This was delicious and had a good amount of soft shell crab in it. It tasted like a handheld sushi roll with soft shell crab. I loved it. I ate half in the restaurant and then reheated the other half at home the next day. They had plenty of seating areas so great for students to study or just a place to catch up with friends. Will be back to try a hot coffee next time.
