We were walking around downtown Davis. I was thirsty and we stumbled on Molly Jasmine Tea. I love the vibe as soon as I walked in. High ceilings, wooden flooring, spacious and tables are not cramped on top of each other. Excellent space to work or meet friends. There are two kiosks for self ordering. I got the Coconut Blue Cloud Matcha. Before I even taste the drink, it is gorgeous! Probably the most beautiful drink I have ever seen. It's green matcha foam on top, then this bright blue liquid and white/milk bottom. Once you mix it, it becomes a turquois color. It also taste really good. Refreshing coconut milk/water, subtle sweetness (70% sugar) and strong matcha. When you get to the bottom, you get the bits of coconut. I don't live near Davis but I would definitely come again the next time I am in the area. read more

I often go to the Molly Tea in the South Bay Area. After trying to convince my friend from Davis to visit the bay, she told me there was already a Molly tea in Davis. So ofc when I was in town, I had to try it. This "Molly Tea" is not the same as the Bay Area's (no store listed in Davis on the official Molly Tea website) and is also known as "jasmine tea house" on Google Maps which confused me. Walking in there was a very unpleasant smell, almost like bleach/chlorine mixed with jasmine tea fragrance. (Not great!) We sat outside. However the drinks were not bad. Not as "presentable" as the authentic Molly Tea (no fancy straw or seal), but the osmanthus oolong milk tea was on par taste wise. Overall, it's a good "knock off molly tea" and satisfied our boba craving. It's good enough for Davis but def lacks the polish of real Molly Tea's. read more

I can't honestly say this place lived up to the jasmine tea hype at least not on my first visit. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba, and parts of the drink tasted a bit watered down and diluted. Because of that, it didn't quite hit the way I expected. That said, I did notice some of the other drinks customers ordered looked really good, so I'm open to giving this spot another try. Ambiance: Cute layout with music playing at a comfortable medium volume--not too loud, not too quiet. Service: Ordering is done through a kiosk, and the drink was made quickly in a timely manner. Super cute ambience. Note: their drinks are not as sweet. The jasmine milk tea at 100% sweetness tastes like 25% sweetness at most other boba shops. Wish the milk tea was more creamy since it seemed like I was drinking a jasmine tea rather than a jasmine milk tea. Definitely recommend getting a topping such as boba or their whipped cream - because the drink itself is so light feel you really need the sweetness of their boba/cream to balance out the lightness of the tea and take the drink to another level. One of my favorite places to stop when I'm (infrequently) in Davis. They're located in Downtown Davis; there's a parking lot right across from the business. I like that their drinks seem to be more about the quality of the tea versus having a ton of different flavor options. They open at a time I think is somewhat late in the day on weekdays (12pm), and there tends to be a least a few people waiting to get in by the time noon rolls around. Order at the kiosk. I've been getting the Cape Jasmine with Coconut Cream whenever I'm here (but do plan to try something new next time). The coconut cream really adds a lot to the drink, in my opinion, especially since I lowered the sweetness level. At Molly Jasmine, I do recommend keeping a higher sweetness level because otherwise the tea tends to taste a bit more bitter at first. The cream did blend into the drink to help balance out the taste, but as someone who tends to think drink / milk tea places tend to be overly sweet, you're drink likely won't be sweet enough if you reduce the sweetness at Molly Jasmine. It's a bright, open interior. Cutely decorated. Although, there's not a ton of seating. Great drink spot to check out. read more

Super cute tea spot in Davis! :D I would totally come here to study. Came on a Sunday around 5pm and it was kind of busy with few seats open. There were lots of students here studying and hanging out. It's so cute inside and bright. I got the Molly Jasmine milk tea at 100% sweetness as that was the recommended sweetness as said on the kiosk. Im glad I got 100 because it's not too sweet. You can definitely taste the Jasmine tea and I would say it's very similar to the popular Molly Tea that we all know. I love that Davis has their version of Molly tea here. Honestly disappointed by drink quality here esp considering the hype and prices. We came here after hearing good reviews about their jasmine milk tea and ordered the basic Molly Jasmine Milk Tea along with one of their novelty drinks, the Pistachio Coconut Jasmine and weren't too impressed by either one. Perhaps our fault for ordering it with 50% sweet and lactose free milk, but the Molly Jasmine Milk Tea tasted heavily watered down and didn't have any of the richness I was expecting of their namesake drink. As for the coconut water drink, this was just a miss for me. While it's a very aesthetically pleasing drink, it tasted like stale coconut water at first bc of the pistachio top before we mixed it thoroughly, which somewhat improved the taste but I personally think the cloud concept they were going for just didnt work out -- cream tops work best on top of a milk tea base and the pistachio, jasmine and coconut water were like three people trying to be friends but just not vibing :/ Pro-tip: they offer free macarons (vanilla, lemon, chocolate, pistachio and lemon) if you follow them on their socials and the texture is pretty ideal -- I probably enjoyed this most out of everything we tried here. I will say that this shop is nice and spacious with plenty of tables and ambiance is great for a coffee date or catching up with friends and ordering is easy via the kiosks with short wait times. However, I can't say I would ever go out of my way to come here again. Maybe I just went wrong with my drink choices but if you do end up coming here, I'd avoid the coco water beverages and recommend going up to 80-100% sweetness on the milk teas unless you dont mind bland, watered down drinks. read more

I honestly don't remember what I got, but it was some type of iced green tea, 30% sweet, with added fermented rice. My first time having fermented rice in my drink, as I've never seen it in at other boba tea shoppes. I tried it and decided it was not my favorite. I'll stick with regular boba. The tea was fragrant, strong, and smooth, no bitterness. Molly Jasmine gave authentic tea vibes, like I was in a tea shop in Chinatown. Interior was nicely decorated with soothing colors and beautiful florals. The only thing I didn't like was the really strong bleach odor when we walked in. At least I know the place was clean, but the smell was off-putting, so we sat outside and enjoyed our drinks on the open tables. You basically have no interaction with the workers except to pick up your drink. It's a clean, modern place and there were lots of students hanging out and studying. Came here with my boyfriend, we got the jasmine milk tea with drinkable mochi and the seasonal peach smoothie with tea jelly. They have special instructions to order toppings that are not on the menu that are attached to the ordering tablets, but I found it a bit confusing. They add examples of toppings that are not included on the ordering interface, but why? And how are we supposed to know what order toppings they can and can't make? These include pretty typical toppings like regular boba and more unlikely toppings like coconut cream... I think they should either list out these toppings that they make on request on an actual physical menu or change the online menu. We would've gotten the regular boba, but we arrived around 12 and they added a sticky note that said regular boba would be ready around 12:30, which is when I'm assuming they finish cooking it. I feel like most boba places work on cooking the boba prior to opening, but I digress. We waited around 20 minutes for our drink since someone took our order and the baristas had to remake it. They apologized, which was sweet of them considering it wasn't their fault. The actual drink was quite good! The drinkable mochi had less of a qq consistency and was runnier than Sunright's, which is the texture I'm used to. The milk tea flavor itself was comparable to the actual Molly Tea in Sunnyvale. The tea jelly paired quite well with the grainier and slush texture of the peach smoothie, I was a fan of both drinks and we swapped off pretty often. It has a very clean and relaxed vibe with plants and a book nook, but what I really love is that they have fat friendly seating! Big, cozy chairs that bigger people can enjoy. Their Strawberry Milk Bar, Jasmine tea and the fermented rice milk are my favorites but every drink I have tried from Molly Jasmine has been delicious. They have a kiosk to order from in case you are not into human contact, which I'm not and their prices are really good, especially for the quality of drink you get. I seriously wish negative stars were an option because this place would deserve it. Their posted closing time is 10 PM, and we got there at 9:55 so naturally, we asked if we could still order. The staff looked visibly annoyed but said yes. Then it just went downhill. The ordering machine wasn't working, and instead of helping us, they just refused to assist at all. So we were basically left there unable to order, even though they had just told us we could. If you say you close at 10, then actually stay open and functional until 10. Don't shut everything down early and treat customers like an inconvenience for showing up during your business hours. read more

TLDR; Super strong milk tea, would come back but boba was a bit hard! My first time going to Molly Jasmine, as I heard so many great things about the place! I'm normally not a jasmine tea drinker as I prefer a more robust tea like oolong but wanted to try their signature. It was a very strong and good flavorful milk tea! Very floral and they have these very small straws to really enhance the drinking experience and how much of the tea you get to taste! One of the better milk teas I've had before and I normally only drink milk teas XD. I will say tho that the boba was a bit hard so that would knock my rating down to a 4.5 star if that was an option. The service was fast and there was two self ordering kiosks, did not get to interact with the employees because I didn't have to. The ship itself was very cute, I loved the pastel blue of the shop and how it was spacious and neatly and welly lit and decorated, seems like a great place to study as there are floor plugs all throughout the store! Checked out this new-ish boba spot in Davis over the weekend and thought it was so cute! It was actually pretty spacious considering most of the downtown boba shops are so tiny. A lot of seating inside but can get crowded especially when there is a line forming for the order kiosks. There are two kiosks available which can be hard to see if you're in the back of the line. Speaking of hard to see, the menu hanging up front has the worst tiniest font ever! No idea who approved that but it's essentially illegible. You basically can't figure out what you want until you get to the kiosk so that's why it can take a while to get up there to order. The menu is actually pretty limited though, not your standard boba shop with the typical taro, Thai tea, etc. They are very apparent in their focus on quality over quantity! I know I should have ordered jasmine tea for the namesake but I'm just a sucker for peach oolong milk tea. I chose mochi as my topping. I kept my sweetness at 100% and it was actually perfect. Not too sweet and artificial like some places, because again they are really focused on quality and the actual tea flavor itself! My drink was delicious and light, but it was definitely pricey especially considering the size of it. I finished my drink before even getting back to the car! Luckily my husband's grape tea was a bigger cup. That was a surprisingly good drink too. Not something I'd normally order but the real grape flavor was nice and refreshing.
