We went out to try Pacha Mama about a week after their 'soft' open. It's in the location that had previously housed Bonefish and then Tios Taqueria in a strip mall. First of all, the folks here have done a wonderful job making it feel like you're in a freestanding restaurant. Once inside, there are beautiful murals and decorations throughout giving the restaurant a very lovely ambience (especially for a place sitting right on Rout 22!). Food - we got the steak quesadilla appetizer which was AMAZING with large hunks of tender steak mixed in (not the usual steak strips you expect from a quesadilla) with beautiful presentation. We also had the shrimp tacos which were very VERY tasty. For mains I can only speak to mine: I had the parpadelle huacaina and it was DELICIOUS. Great flavor on both the chicken and the noodles. My wife had the arroz con mariscos and it looked fantastic (I didn't manage to get a fork into it actually). Dessert - we tried the house made flan which was delicious and the tres leches cake which was absolutely stellar! If I had anything negative to say it's that the options for a vegetarian are more or less non existent: a brussels sprout taco and potentially some french fries (even the guac has pork belly in it). In addition, do keep your eye on the price tag when ordering: while most things are in-line with what I'd expect a good non chain to charge, as an example, they do have one drink on the menu that is $28 (I didn't order it but as I recall it was a fancy old fashioned with a bunch of interesting things in it). We will be going back again this upcoming weekend with some folks that weren't able to join us. The food was THAT good, and Jesus and the staff were super attentive and on the ball. read more

Wow wow wow!!! I visited Pachamama today and had an amazing dining experience! Andrea, our waitress, was absolutely adorable!! She was so fun, knowledgeable, and kind. I asked her where do the oysters they sale come from and she gave that information immediately. The wings we ordered were delicious along with the guacamole. I had wine also. Service is very slow. The waiter kept telling us it was still part of the soft opening. Haven't they been open for a few months now? Bartenders are veeeeery slow. They definitely should consider getting better bartenders. 5 minutes per drink. People actually left the bar and walked out. The drinks were not very good so that was disappointing. The appetizer we got was delicious. Guacamole! However it comes with 4 small tostones and there is a good amount of guacamole. We asked the server for more and she said it would be extra. We didn't care, but she never brought them out and did charge us. The table next to us kept complaining, so loud that 3 other tables turned around and started participating in the conversation. They also had the same complaints about the service being slow, bad drinks and bartenders, and they all had something to say about their entrees. I got the osobuco and it was so dry. The meat should be most and fall off the bone. For the prices the quality of the entrees don't match up. I personally wouldn't go back. The place itself is super cute, but I wouldn't bother again. I was there last night to celebrate my wife birthday with reservation for 8:45pm.We arrived early by 8:25pm and we were seated at the table by 8:30pm. As soon we started with the appetizers I noticed that the waiter began to pressure us to order the main course because the kitchen was about to close , we did it.. At 9:35 when we order the dessert , the waiter recommended the 3 leches home made , I said great , bring me that one ...few minutes later he returned to my table to tell me that the kitchen was closed and that he couldn't serve the dessert. That morning when I checked the Restaurante schedule on the website before to make the reservation I found that the closing time on Thursdays is 11pm. Now my question is ...WHY DO THEY ACCEPT A RESERVATION AT 8:45PM (AND I WAS EARLY by 8:30pm)) IF THE KITCHEN WILL BE CLOSED AT 9;30PM??? They need the kitchen open to serve a simple dessert?? They saw the birthdays ballons all the times and no one asked if we want a piece of cake with a candle?? I have to say that the food was good and that what happened is not waiter fault. Pacha Mamá is a new Latin (Peruvian) restaurant in Green Brook. PROS: - The service was very good. David and Jesus were very attentive. - The ambiance and decor was very nice. I can tell they are trying to "building" a hot stop. - The drinks. Bartender is doing something right and serves healthy portions. CONS: - The food. I was a bit disappointed of the food. The amount of money paid did not justify the quality of food. Our table ordered: * guacamole - that was VERY GOOD * tuna tartare - was drenched in a sauce and tuna was not as fresh * Mixed Seafood with rice - that was super salty. * Churrasco - I loved the ability to change the potatoes for the rice Moro and salad for maduros. The churrasco itself was a beautiful piece of meat cooked to perfection (medium rare) but it was salty. I'm not sure if it was the meat that had salt or the chimichurri or both. Overall, I would go back for drinks and appetizers, but would have dinner somewhere else. read more

We went there with a group of friends. There was 8 of us. We arrived and the group had been waiting at the bar. They closed the bar tab, so we decided to wait to be seated to order a drink. A young waiter came over and we placed a drink order. It took 20 minutes and at least 1-2 times of asking where our drinks were. Eventually, the bartender came over herself to serve the drinks. Likely due to the time her drinks were sitting there. She was super btw, but the rest of the staff was lazy and inattentive. We had to ask for salt and pepper at least twice...the waiter would pass by us several times in the meantime. We only got the condiments shortly before we were finished. Also, one margarita was $17!? And served in a small Scotch type glass. The shrimp app was sitting in grease. Not even flavored in any way and they gave us what simply looked like toast for dipping. One of our group ordered steak salad and there was no steak on it. They also added 20% gratuity to the bill. We didn't say anything because we were with friends, but if it was just us, there likely wouldn't be a tip of more than 10% if not less. I wish Bonefish Grill never left. read more

I will say the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and would be a nice spot for drinks at night. My appetizer was very good and the portions were fair, but the service was fairly slow and took us around an hour to even receive our entrees with barely anyone there. I had Ordered a 12oz steak and upon my first bite the steak tasted as if the meat was old, my guest had tried it as well and agreed. With almost none of the steak eaten we sent it back and were offered another item or to box it up, they refused to take it off the bill even though it wasn't even eaten, and only offered a free drink. Went there recently for a ladies night dinner. We are in our early 40s and like a low key vibe. The ambiance is visually appealing and modern, the menu is concise and their flavored margaritas are good. Food came out quickly so we ordered appetizers first with some drinks and sat with that for a bit before we put in our entrees. Overall food was good and everyone is still talking about the shrimp taco appetizers! David was our server, he was great. He was pleasant, charming and patient with us. Him and one of the ladies at our table share the same birthday, so he was one step ahead of us by making sure to get the staff to sing her happy birthday when dessert was brought out without us even asking.
