This little gem in the Trails shopping center is a friendly family-run business. I'm not a Sushi guy so I can't comment on the Sushi but the Chinese food is flavorful, well seasoned, and most dishes are generous with the vegetables. Order any of the meat with broccoli dishes and you'll see what I mean. The hot and sour soup is very tasty without any of the thickeners that some restaurants use and the Thai fried rice (chicken or pork) has a nice mixture of veggies and pineapple. I love this place, we go here at least once a week, the owner which is all the time working as a (server/ cashier and sushi chef), is very friendly and helpful when it comes to taking care of the costumers. There is a lot of items in the menu to choose from and all at a very reasonable price. The food is very tasty and it feels that is cooked right at order with the most fresh ingredients using traditional recipes. Even though the place is at a shopping center and right next to a Publix don't be fooled of the great quality of the food and the cleanliness of this restaurant. I have gone to other Asians restaurant around the area and none compared to this one we always end up coming back. Our group ordered a variety of things; the seafood delight was enjoyed by 2 people, but the chicken tempura came looking like a pile of very long squared off chicken fingers with no vegetables or anything to complement it. My friend was too polite to send it back, and when she complained, the woman (owner?) just fired back that "that's the way it is" and didn't offer to do anything about it. She was just rude and brusque. I ordered potstickers, which came with the pasta-like covering falling off because they'd obviously been stewed (and overcooked) rather than pan-fried. I think I might have posted something before, mentioning that when you leave, your clothes smell like old grease. I've given this place quite a few chances, and it's just not that great. Pacific Asian Bistro is my favorite Asian restaurant. They have a large and diverse menu. Usually this results in many dishes that are lacking in substance, but not here. Each and every dish tastes authentic and comforting. Their homemade duck sauce will satiate you until your food is ready to be served. Personally, I always get their fried udon. The noodles are thick and the sauce has just the right amount of sodium. This restaurant is very far out of my way, but I always try to make time to come here. The servers are nice and the food is reasonably fresh. The staff are dedicated, even coming in to work during some of Florida's more unsavory weather. From their sushi to their curry, I love Pacific Asian Bistro. You won't find a better place for the price. read more

Finally! My search for good take out Chinese food has ended. We've been back in town nearly two years and I have loathed every take out Chinese restaurant we've tried until tonight. I didn't order anything extravagant just two quarts of house fried rice, a quart of pork fried rice, four pork egg rolls, Kung Po shrimp, and Mongolian beef. This is the first place in the area that actually served what I would call fried rice. It was brown and fried and loaded with meat. Why do the other places call that white rice with minimum protein or veggies fried rice? The Kung Pau shrimp was a real treat. Jumbo shrimp battered, fried and covered in sweet and spicy sauce with broccoli. The Mongolian beef was mostly onions but that's fairly typical for most places regardless of state. The egg rolls were crisp and tasty. Now if I could get delivery, where you'd meet me half way it would be perfect. I live in Ormond By the Sea and way outside your delivery area. If you could meet me at say A1A and Granada or Granada and John Anderson I would give you five stars! I crave Chinese and now I've found my fix! Expect biweekly orders going forward. I checked out your sushi bar and it looked good as well. I plan to try your Thai and Sushi very soon. read more

Visited last night for the 1st time. Decor was surprisingly nice. They spent a few bucks to make it look nice and added a sushi bar. Place had a few tables going and thought we really might like this place. I had Mongolian Beef for $9.50 and it was 90% onions and woefully short on the beef. People let me say I'm not exaggerating. It was so salty too. I did not say anything because I was so hungry. The server never asked if everything was ok. They just didn't care. I said something when I paid the bill and they said sorry. I regret that poor food and poor service will mean this place won't be around in 6 months. Just don't expect much if you go and maybe you will like it, but I doubt it. For my money, I get better food from Hot Wok on Granada by Winn Dixie. read more

I don't know what everyone else ordered, but I love this place. My husband and I are regulars. If you're going to order sushi, get the ISO and/or the Black Angel roll. They have really good tempura. The sauce has a bit of a kick, which is a nice change. Their Thai menu is limited, but the Thai basil chicken is really high quality. If the Thai crispy duck is on special, it's definitely worth trying. The duck meat is really tender, and my husband would pour that sauce on anything! The Chinese may be the weak link in the chain. The chicken lo mein is low on chicken, but had a lot of veggies. The orange chicken could also use more bite, it was a bit too mild for my taste. Overall, this place is definitely worth checking out. Far and away the best quality sushi and shrimp with mixed vegetables that I've had in a loooooong time! Fresh, perfectly cooked, with brown rice available. Huge menu! Vegan husband found many options and enjoyed spring rolls and vegetable egg fu young. Environment could be improved with ambient music in background to encourage easier conversation, but appearing to be family operated, this is a winner. The waitress was brusck and didn't know the ingredients of common dishes.. The floor near the bathroom was so greasy I nearly slipped and fell... I asked for no MSG and was served a meal with MSG.. I'm working my way through the menu first dish i tried was thai mango shrimp and thai shrimp fried rice. very well prepared and delivered hot! last night I had sushi and red curry seafood. the sushi was incredible and you get eight pieces and a California roll , the best sushi I've had in Florida. red curry seafood, wow the first bite I just dug in and it was a huge chunk of lobster there was scallops shrimp it was awesome. I asked for thaihot but it wasn't as hot as I like no worries though I have weapons grade pepper to sprinkle on it. you also get a soup and salad with dinner the miso soup was delicious and the house ginger salad dressing is unbelievable. Family-run New York Chinatown style Asian Cuisine. As the relocated New Yorker I have been looking for decent Chinese food. This is the first place I found with real New York style Chinese food. There was a young man sitting behind the counter playing video games on the computer with earbuds in his ears clearly more interested in his game than the customer that just walked in. After standing there for a couple of minutes I was acknowledged by the lady who was also standing there reading her Sam's Club receipt. I'm originally from Hawaii, so I LOVE sushi and I have eaten a LOT of it. I move/travel around quite a bit, and I'm always on the hunt for a good sushi place when I arrive. We tried several places in the Ormond/Palm Coast area before we found this place, and their sushi is definitely the best. The customer service here isn't necessarily great - sometimes you can go in and pick up your food, and they will barely look at you, but the food makes up for that. The worst customer service I have ever seen. The women I spoke with said she was part owner. I sure hope the other owner reads these. She was extremely rude. I wanted to order a combo that was sashimi and a fried rice bowl (it also comes with a soup and salad). I explained to the server and then the "part owner" that I couldn't eat rice. I asked if I could have one more piece of sashimi. They both said no. My next question was if instead of the rice if I could have a piece of cucumber or a tiny piece of a carrot or even a few lemon wedges. It was the principal at that point. The owner said no. I told the owner that if someone else at the table asked for a little extra ginger or a little more lettuce I'm sure they would give it to them. It's not like I was asking for a spring roll, I literally would've been happy with two pieces of a cucumber or even a lemon wedge. She smiled with a bitch smile, said no and walked away. I've never been treated so poorly for something so stupid. She just didn't want to make me happy. I was so stressed out by this. I told the lady I would never come back and I would tell everyone I new not to go to the place. It funny that over something so stupid she will loose lots of customers. Went here to get vegetable fried rice and roast pork lo mein. First visit the food was excellent. Rice was loaded with fresh veggies, broccoli, cabbage, sprouts, onions, snow peas etc. Went back last Tuesday to order a large vegetable fried rice and it was HORRIBLE!!!! 1 piece of broccoli, 1 snow pea , no sprouts, onions, any other veggies at all and loaded with those frozen little green peas and carrots that taste like cardboard. Just stopped by to let them know I wasted my money anf threw the rice in the garbage and they could care less. Didn't offer to replace it , make it right in any kind of way.. Okay, my husband and I decided to try this place one more time because we really enjoyed their food. This time we received front door service; yes, at a condo complex. The driver was very friendly. This is probably the best Asian restaurant in the area. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are generous i usually end up enough leftovers to have them as a lunch later. Not only do you have the ability to choose from multiple types of Asian cuisine ( such as japanese or chinese) the food is tasty, yet Not made with large amounts of grease so it is easy on the stomach. Additionally it is a nice family restaurant so it is generally very quiet, laid back and has a nicely paced staff who bring the food fairly quick and are not buzzing around every second. If you are in the Ormond beach area and enjoy Asian Cuisine I would recommend making thw short drive to this restaurant. read more

This new Asian/Japanese/Sushi/Chinese restaurant showed up in Ormond Beach next to the Publix. This place has changed hands a few times so we were reluctant to go in and try it but we're glad we took the chance. The renovations are classy and upscale. Tile floors, clean spacious booth seating, and a sharp sushi bar make this a step above the average restaurant in this area. The best part? The prices were extremely reasonable and fit right in with the average restaurants in this area! The menu has a bit of everything to satisfy a Japanese taste, a sushi-lover's taste and an American's plain old Chinese food taste. Specials listed were unique and well-priced. Our sesame chicken lunch and Alaskan sushi roll together came to less than $11. Family owned and operated. Pleasant folks. I'll definitely return.
