Early Father's Day Dinner! Delicious well seasoned in both THAI and CHINESE Cuisine! I applaud this place for doing both so well. The service was great! The kind woman was super on the spot, despite being very busy and only one in dining room. Comfortable temperature inside, even with ordering hot tea. This is a plus, especially in out hot Fl summers. We also ordered sushi and the chef made a beautiful hand roll, forgot to take a photo, but will definitely return and order again! Appetizers were amazing: shrimp Shu Mai and beef on a stick were a definite must order. All the flavors were very well balanced and much better than others places Ive been at recently! This was definitely an elevated meal that I haven't had in quite some time. Chicken Pad Thai was superior in flavor, texture, seasoning and amount of color on the plate with beautiful vegetables. The Szechuan Shrimp was delicious, not sweet and a great portion of shrimp too! All veggies were a still crunchy, which was delicious! I would come and have that entree again and again! It's the best Ive had in 25 yrs. I used to live by a place called Szechuan House and this dish reminded me of this amazing restaurant. Great experience! Went on a first date here. Quaint little place and cozy atmosphere. I had high expectations since my date said the sushi chef had won awards. We ordered the edamame with sea salt. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. We shared the Cobra Roll (shrimp tempura, cream cheese, cucumber, topped with spicy krab, avocado, fish roe, eel sauce) and the Fire Starter Roll (spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, topped with tuna, spicy fish roe, garlic sauce.) Both rolls were yummy and actually paired very well together with the creaminess of the avocado & sweetness of the eel sauce in contrast to the spiciness of the tuna and garlic. We also ended up ordering the Spider Roll (tempura soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado, fish egg & eel sauce.) Never got a photo, good crunch, but note there are only five pieces in this roll. We're new in the area and this was our first attempt at Chinese here. The food is very good, fresh, generous portions, served quickly and presented well. The menu is unique in some ways. While they offer the old standby General Chens chicken you won't find things listed like Hunan Beef, or Szechuan Pork. But the staff are friendly and very helpful and you simply have to accept that they have a different approach to the food. So for example the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce will get you very close to a Hunan Shrimp, just with a little twist and it's great. Also, tons of sushi , tempura and teriyaki on the menu. Subject: Complaint about declining quality at Pacific Asian Bistro (Palencia) For the past 11 years, we have been loyal customers at Pacific Asian Bistro in Palencia, dining there nearly every week because of the consistently good food, generous portions, and excellent customer service. Unfortunately, over the last couple of months, everything has changed dramatically -- and not for the better. Last night's visit was beyond disappointing. We ordered soup, spring rolls, and sushi, and encountered issue after issue: Miso Soup: It was so salty it was inedible, and the vegetables were raw and uncooked. Spring Rolls: For years, the order always came with two rolls. Now, it is just one. Sushi: The rolls have shrunk to half their previous size, making them nearly impossible to eat with chopsticks. Despite asking specifically for more rice (since last time there was almost none), the request was ignored, and my order was even forgotten entirely. The Dynamite Roll, which used to be beautifully presented, arrived looking as though it had been tossed on the plate -- no garnish, no care, and only five flimsy pieces that fell apart when picked up. The portions have been cut nearly in half, while prices have increased by 78%. That is unacceptable. Equally troubling was the service. We were "greeted" by a heavily tattooed server who spoke to us with an inappropriate familiarity. The manager refused to even address my concerns and instead passed me to the owner who was on the phone. The owner was dismissive, rude, and more interested in lecturing me than listening to valid customer complaints. After more than a decade of loyalty, this was the final straw. This was our first time at Pacific Asian Bistro. Service was fantastic. Neat and clean. Very affordable lunch specials. We ordered bbq ribs appetizer which was very flavourful. I had beef and broccoli with white rice. It tasted great. There was a bit too much sauce for my liking but next time I will just ask for less sauce. Came in today 5/14 wasn't too busy, upon arrival the host sort of just stared at me. Then I said 3, she immediately sat me at a table. When I arrived I realized my 2 y/o didn't have her shoes on. Typical mistake when you were gardening all day; nonetheless I asked if we could sit at the booth knowing she won't have the urge to run around like at a table. The host was hesitant to respond then she said "ok". We sat down were given our menus and it took a while for the waitress to come. Finally she did asked for our drink orders brought them and was gone for a while, I did see her standing right in front of me talking to another waitress and glancing at me then they laughed together. Super rude and horrible customer service whether they were laughing at me or not do it somewhere else where you are not smack in front of a customer. She came took our order and all around was just rude she threw plates on the table, silverware, it was an unpleasant feel. Felt very cold. The only kind one was a busser who was kind enough to ask if we needed a water refill. I just moved here from CA and I am definitely going to miss my kind and courteous Cali crew from Asian bistros over there. Here was not it. Ambiance was just mediocre the sushi bar was extra small and inside was like any other upcoming restaurant. Nothing special. My total was $65 for: 2 orders of vegi rolls $3.25 ea for (2) Gyoza $6.00+ 3 different vegi sushi plates $5.25 ea plus $2 extra soy wrapped A miso soup $3.25 Kids Terriyaki Chicken $10 Prosecco $8 Two orders of mochi $7.00 No Tip Left because I refuse to tip for HORRIBLE SERVICE, and today was horrible. I know it's a odd thing to start with, but we've found since we re-located down here is that most places we've tried serve dried out bland fried rice. This is a foundational item! EAT HERE! I can't say enough great things about Pacific Asian Bistro in Palencia. We have been coming here for 6 or 7 years and it is a family favorite. You are greeted by a hostess but usually can expect a nod or hello from behind the counter. Each employee working here treats you like gold as the service is always exceptional from start to finish. The food is prepared as if it is being served to a King or Queen and the presentation is so beautiful that you almost hate to ruin the beauty by diving in to eat it! Don't hesitate though as anything you order will never disappoint you. Come hungry and expect to leave with your leftovers as the helpings are huge. Pacific Asian has become our go to sushi place! Today, I stopped in for lunch and got the lunch sushi special. For $15.25, you can get two speciality rolls with the choice of a soup or salad. I ordered the house salad and the green river and godzilla roll. Both were amazing and you could tell the fish was fresh. I literally dream about my meals there. I love starting with their clear soup and salad with ginger dressing. Their soup is always hot & delicious, never too salty like other restaurants. The ginger dressing is indescribable and the salad always tastes so fresh. I always order their Dynamite roll which is filling and the perfect combination of fish, rice, fried crispy outside & shrimp sauce drizzled on top. I always get their vegetable lo mein to go for lunch the next few days as well. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The servers are always super attentive & really kind.
