Staff were very friendly and kind, they handle our requested service professionally and with ease. There's ample parking in the back of the building with a back entrance as well. There was a slight mishap as they wanted to charge $500 for our service but it was quickly corrected before we paid and they apologized for the miscommunication. What was most frustrating is that nobody called me beforehand to let me know the equipment was unavailable. I was told the appointment also included a consultation, which made little sense because I had already seen the doctor and knew exactly what treatment I was there for. I requested a refund of the $50 copay, which is currently being processed. While I appreciate that, it doesn't change the fact that I wasted approximately 40 minutes driving through Bay Area traffic for an appointment that should have been canceled or rescheduled in advance. In my experience, the staff were not particularly friendly or accommodating, and the overall communication and customer service were disappointing. I have PPO insurance and will be taking my business elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office. Patients' time matters, and if a critical piece of medical equipment is unavailable, they should be notified before making the trip. You're welcome!!! Their statement: "You recieved skin tag removal - that's a cosmetic procedure. We don't send that to insurance." WHAT? You should have disclosed that at the appointment! You don't send everything to insurance? Why not? Who cares if its covered or not - let the insurance decide that. That's their entire job. This screams lack of transparency, shadiness, and overall a negative experience for patients - as now the bill is $60 higher than anticipated. Overall, just terrible billing practices. SHADY. The front office staff, scheduling (last minute cancellations or rescheduling), and billing department (over charged a handful of times), display a lack of professionalism and consistent disrespect attitudes towards patients, which is truly disheartening to witness and experience. A new nurse of Asian descent was hired several years ago and unbelievably her behavior was inappropriate during the 3 occasions we interacted with her. I will never have her touch my face with any devices ever again. She also touched me inappropriately and I voiced my concerns and no one ever resolved the concerns. However, after seeing a new nurse (very good) who assists Dr. Saal, the experience has been positive. Despite being a loyal patient for 37 years, with Dr Saal, I have observed a significant decline in the office environment over the last 15 years. I have even recommended 22 individuals to this practice over the past 37 years, but never again. Stacey is the only long term employee (manager) still at the office and she has been consistently wonderful and professional. However, definitely not the rest of the office staff as mentioned above. I guess things and people do change eventually. My referrals and myself have gone to other Dermatologist offices to experience better services.
