A lot of good reviews here, so maybe it was just a bad day in my case. Gas was fine, but this station doesn't have a restroom. Not the end of the world, but when I asked the youngish attendant if they had one he nearly spit in my face with contempt. A real FU attitude. Thus the reason for my low rating. If attitude matters to you, unless you're clean out of petrol and are pushing your buggy by hand to the nearest pump, get your gas at the next corner. I'm not quite sure if this place is still Pacific Beach Gas as the billboard on the street says "Mobil" rather than what I see here on Yelp. But I got in on a gift card deal on eBay and have a bunch of Exxon/Mobil gift cards, and it turns out this is the cheapest one in all of San Diego. Weird, as PB gas usually isn't as cheap as, say Chula Vista. If I'm not mistaken, this gas station used to close at 10pm or 11pm, but lately I've noticed the pumps are on late night, so I think it's 24 hours. Maybe I'm wrong and it was always 24 hours. But I've been blowing through these gift cards and getting gas at cheaper prices than Arco, so I'm happy. read more

I had an amazing experience with Pacific Beach Gas and will definitely go back anytime I need a UHaul rental or even just for gas - anything to support this business and the beautiful family operating it. This family is incredibly kind and works to make sure your experience is as enjoyable as possible! A few weeks ago, I moved from La Jolla to Mission Beach and chose to reserve a truck here due to the location. When I arrived, the UHaul I had reserved was out waiting for me. The owner, Gino, was incredibly friendly and helpful showing me how to work the truck and the equipment I had rented. I was really impressed by how fast the process was for checking out the truck. In the past, when I have rented UHauls this part took and very long time. Here, Gabriela, Gino's daughter was VERY efficient and accurate ...and even gave me a small discount on the equipment! They close at 4pm on Saturdays so when I got back to return the truck at 4:20pm, I expected to just load up on gas, park the truck and return to rental keys to the drop box. Instead, Gino and Gabriela were still there closing up and offered to stay back to get my keys directly. When I went to fill up on gas, it dawned on me that I left my wallet and my personal car keys at my new home. I panicked thinking about how I was going to have to drive all the way back and put more miles on the truck - almost doubling my rental fee. When Gino and Gabriela found this out, Gabriela offered to drive me to my home as Gino filled up the truck with gas for me. This was very unexpected and outrageously kind of them to offer! I had an amazing time chatting with Gabriela the whole drive to and from my home in Mission Beach to grab my keys and wallet. The fact that this is a family-run business makes a huge difference. I'm incredibly grateful for their generosity and kindness. I HIGHLY recommend this business!! read more

My husband and I rented a U-Haul van from this location, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive. They were considerate of our time and delivered speedy service that got us out the door and into the van in no time flat. Our van was super clean and ready for us when we arrived. Upon our return, we attempted to fill up the van ourselves to avoid the standard U-Haul refilling charge, only to be greeted by a staff member who insisted on filling up for us to get us on our way sooner (no refilling charge!). The owner, Gino, is a real gem.. note the sarcasm.. My boyfriend and I rented a trailer from this location for a really great trip to Lake Havasu.. Everything seemed to be going great until our trip home.. The last few hours of our trip home were in the dark, we soon noticed that the running lights on the trailer did not work. The blinkers, brake lights and hazards did work. When we were not using any of these things, you could not see the trailer. We spent the last few hours crawling home in the slow lane with the hazards on hoping to avoid a ticket, or worse, a car accident. I was very concerned as we had our two dogs in the truck with us. Upon returning, I called in and filled them in on the situation and requested that they give me a refund. I was then told to call Uhaul customer service because they needed to rectify the situation. When I did, I was told that I needed to resolve the issue with Pacific Beach gas instead. I called back in and they told me that I needed to speak with the area representative and that they would leave a message and I would receive a call back. I did not. I called back in and spoke to Gino who told me that he would get a hold of the rep and either he would call me back personally or I would hear from the rep. This did not happen. I called back in and expressed my frustration with the "run around" I had been receiving, at this point I had been trying to resolve this issue for about three weeks. Gino was very rude throughout this process, when I let him know that I would be yelping about my experience on this issue if he continued to run me around , he hung up on me. read more

Got a smog check done here. Only took 15 mins and John took good care of me. They have a new smog check machine. I would recommend this place for smog checks and quick fixes for your vehicle. Their gas prices are very low right now too! 3.19$ on average everywhere else its 3.25$ or higher! read more

You will not find a nicer person than Tony. This guy CARES and is extremely knowledgeable about vehicles. We just bought a 1984 Chevy RV and the guy we bought it from said the carburator didn't work correctly. We took it to him and he checked it out and easily could have charged us to "rebuild" it as we were convinced it was that and it could cost hundred of dollars to fix. He went through the whole engine and found that it was the vacuum hoses and he replaced them all, and the belts on the 1984 were rough. He said you can get away with driving it like that, and NO PRESSURE to make the decision, but we decided we didn't want to break down on the way to the desert! He worked hard and long on our RV and made sure EVERYTHING was looked at and he charged us what we thought was going to be hundred of dollars just $150 after 4 hours of work! We were there the whole time and he never stopped. If you want someone who is going to treat you right, call Tony! You wont be disappointed! He normally works on cars, but offered to help us out in a time of need. If you need a good mechanic that works on your cars the right way and treats you the "right" way, call Tony! read more
