Tried out Pacific Bistro last night. Sorry, the Moscow Mules were so good I forgot to take pictures! Overall, the table was really happy with everything. The four of us shared the Grasshopper roll (no grasshoppers were harmed in the making of this roll) and the Green Bay Packer roll. Both were really good. They forgot to bring ginger and wasabi, but rectified the problem fairly quickly. Overall, the table preferred the Grasshopper roll. It was very loosely rolled so it fell apart, but the flavor was there. One weird thing about the Green Bay Packer Roll, they used smoked salmon instead of fresh as the description indicated. It was still really good, but it may have overpowered everything else on the roll. No biggie for me, I like smoked salmon. For the main entree I had the Chirashi Sushi which is an assortment of sashimi over rice. Everything on the plate was really good,and I really loved their sushi rice. There was octopus, salmon (fresh this time), tuna, and several other selections along with the sweet omelet and some avocado. Beautiful presentation, I'm so mad I forgot to snap pics. Once again though, no ginger or wasabi. My husband enjoyed the green curry. A nice level of heat and a good coconut flavor. A nice sized portion, too. Someone else had the hibachi, steak and salmon combo, which was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Our server was very nice, and kept us updated when the bar fell behind and took a bit longer to get to our drinks. Overall a great experience with a couple minor issues that did not detract from the experience. I would gladly return again. read more

Lunch review: I come here for lunch every few weeks as it is a good value and great food. Lunch entrees include soup, plus ginger salad or 1 egg roll or 2 crab rangoons. I usually enjoy the pad thai or sesame chicken for the meal - which ends up costing $10.51 not including the tip. read more

May 16th, 2017 I come here a lot and always have good food but today my tenderloin was very well done instead of medium like I asked, it took the waitress, Dana at least 15 mins to come back after serving our food and only because I asked water girl to get her. I went here with a group of 7 and the experience was awesome! The Chef was very entertaining and the food was great. He even grabbed a club soda for the wifey when she spilled sauce on her shirt. Back to the food. The filet was great and the chef was able to cook a medium steak. ( Hard to find for me). The veggies had enough sauce on them to not be too salty. First time here, well at least under this ownership, on a Tuesday evening. Somewhat crowded I thought for a Tuesday evening, which I took as a good sign. I was right, the place can fill the tables on a Tuesday night for a reason, food was excellent. My wife and I don't do a lot of sushi, we were both surprised at the menu and having such a huge selection available. Menu had a large variety of sushi, plus the more traditional Asian dishes with a few not-so-common entrees. We enjoyed our Spider Roll as an appetizer. Easily could have been a meal, but we did save enough room for both of us to enjoy half of our main entrée. My wife had the Pork Fried Rice and I had Pad Thai Noodles with pork. Both dishes were very very good. Looking forward to next time as there are about a dozen other menu items that I want to try. read more

Went here for dinner while in town on business. I was craving some Asian cuisine so this seemed like a natural place to try. I came right at the start of normal dinner service which was a good move because by the time I left it was almost filled to capacity. The appearance and upkeep of this restaurant is excellent. Everything about it looked very nice and even had an air of being a more exclusive restaurant even thought that was not the case. I came during their happy hour so they had some drink specials. I opted to take advantage of the reduced prices on any of their Mojitos and ordered a blood orange Mojito and one called Lost At Sea which had Kraken Rum in it which I had been meaning to try since I discovered it a few weeks ago. Both drinks were excellent. They were mixed properly and left me wondering if I could have a few more even though I had to invoke a 2 drink limit since I was driving. For my appetizer, I ordered the Pacific spring rolls. There were 6 small rolls on a plate. They all tasted good and came with a sauce that made them taste even better. It was an excellent segue into my next selection. For my entree, I ordered the red curry with pork which came with white jasmine rice. I got a very generous portion and the taste was perfect. I have had a lot of curry - most are lackluster, some really poor, and then some hit the spot totally like this one did. I made there was nothing left no matter what. When it's that good, you leave nothing behind! Special note about the server and the service - I was waited on by a lovely young lady who made me feel very warm and appreciated. Not only did she make me feel good about coming there, she did a great job in promoting their happy hour specials. I hadn't even thought of getting any drinks when I came but after she described them, I knew I had to get some. Anyone who owns a restaurant can totally appreciate how much good an employee does for the bottom line by not only treating customers so well but by doing a fabulous job of upsetting items and suggesting additional ones to further enhance the customer's experience. I work near Pacific Bistro and on occasion when we've got a little extra time for lunch we'll stop here. They've got a decent sized lunch menu which comes with soup and/or salad and a side. I've always been quite pleased with the food - the sushi is good but on the pricier side. Service is always very attentive and helpful. Only thing keeping me from 4 stars is that it is a little on the pricier side for lunch and it's definitely not a quick meal, understandable given the nature of the cuisine but it sometimes can take over an hour even without it being anywhere near busy. read more

I have eaten here many times and the food is usually good. Tonight, I ordered a chicken Panang curry and a fried rice through GrubHub. The order arrived quickly. The Panang was just terrible. It tasted like they used day-old oil and hardly any coconut milk or Thai seasoning. I put a napkin in it to soak up the grease. I called the restaurant to tell the manager, nicely, that the food was not up to par. I thought they would like to know. The young woman who answered the phone, probably the hostess as it was dinner hour, put me on hold for a couple minutes, came back and told me her manager was 'in a meeting' and would call me back. When I asked who would be calling me, she said she wasn't allowed to give out that information. Really? You can't say the manager's name? Needless to say, I did not get a call back. Very disappointed. I am empathetic to how hard it's been for restaurant workers these past couple years. I wasn't going to be rude but this person was unhelpful and silly. I won't be going back. It's obvious they didn't care that a customer who is willing to pay a premium for delivery and give a decent tip did not receive a quality product. read more

Found this by accident was actually looking for another place recommended by hotel front desk. I'm glad I stopped. Was greeted and seated right away at a table as bar was full. Turns out it was Happy Hour which meant everything was discounted price. Had the egg rolls and the Badger Roll. Both very good. Presentation was very nice truly professional. A great spot for takeout! I ordered two sushi rolls and fried rice and it only took about 20 minutes for it to be ready. I had a lot left over and am currently praying for it to be noon so I can tear into it for my lunch. When I walked in to pick the order I thought the restaurant had a good vibe, but I had already committed to takeout so I couldn't stay. It is pretty easy to find what you like because they have a big menu and helpful staff. read more

HIBACHI: For the past three years, my oldest daughter has requested Hibachi for her birthday dinner. So as in the past, a few days out from "the big night" we made reservations. (Trust me if you don't make a reservation for the hibachi table, they will not seat you there. Apparently they only schedule chefs for this area around the reservations. Last year we were turned away, and had to make it up to our daughter a few weeks later.) At the time that I made the reservation, I made a point to say that this was for a five year old's birthday. I did not expect a giant mouse or bright lights, bells, and whistles, I could have gone to Chucky Cheese's, but all we got was ,"oh, this is for her birthday?" when we checked in. We were sat right away, and we're the only people in the hibachi room. The service was not exceptional, but fine. The first course was the soup. This may be my favorite part. The soup is light, with just enough onion and mushroom. If you've never had hibachi, this is a standard. The second course, salad, we were offered a selection of dressings, but we all went for ginger. The salad appeared to be a blend of iceberg and romaine with a slice of cucumber and tomato. This too is a standard hibachi salad. After being served our salad, our chef appeared. He was great. We all were laughing by the time our dishes were prepared. I had scallops, average, my wife split her chicken with our youngest, not that good, and the birthday girl had shrimp, yum. Along with your main course, you also get fried rice and and assortment of vegetables, which usually consist of onion, broccoli, mushrooms, and zucchini. For the most part everything tasted the same. The dipping sauces left much to be desired. They were both way too salty. So dipping an already over salted chunk of meat or broccoli into liquefied Morton Salt was less than satisfying. We have definately had better here, and for sure at other hibachi restaurants. Its good enough if you dont want to travel too far for hibachi or sushi. SUSHI: The sushi here is maybe the best served between Madison and Milwaukee. The menu is large enough to please everyone. Even if you are dinig with someone who is not a fan of sushi, they are sure to find someting. The prices are average for sushi, and like most sushi or seafood restaurants, the price increases along with complexity. Overall, the dininr room is the way to go. The only thing keeping this from being a 3 or 4 star is the Hibachi. If they could figure that out, this place would be much better read more

Very mixed review. Would have rated 3 stars but prices were way to high for what you got. I had the pad thai chicken and it was very good. Only downside was that it was a 1 on the spicy scale and I was not asked how much spice I like in it. My wife's chicken hibachi from the kitchen was a disaster though. Don't know if the restaurant had a new cook on staff but nothing about the Hibachi was good. Half of the chicken was tough and chewy and some of the vegetables were cooked all the way, the others were basically warmed up. The fried rice had no flavor and was overloaded with vegetable oil to the point where it was inedible. The miso soup tasted more like beef boulion cubes than soup. The ginger dressing on the salad was also not good as it had a ton of pepper in it and did not have any of the classic flavor my wife was looking for. So hibachi served from the kitchen should be avoided. read more

I went on a Tuesday night around 7:30, and it wasn't very busy. I was impressed with the variety in there menu, including the 6 or 7 cooked options they have for sushi. I love sushi, but I am not always in the mood for raw fish, so it was nice to have the option. All of it was delicious! I highly recommend the volcano roll, the golden california roll, and the special crunch roll. I was surprised to find this place tucked away down the road from the movie theater. The sushi here is pretty good the few times I have had it. Hibachi was entertaining and good. Hibachi experiences I have had at other restaurants typically end with the meat over cooked however this turned out cooked very well. I am not a big fan of the rest of the menu as I feel most of the dishes are to Americanized. Considering the dining options in the area I will be back. read more

This I think is the best sushi in the Waukesha area. Asiana is a close second. Service is great and I like the cozy atmosphere. At times we will even order take out. They have never messed up or been of on taste. I am surprised about the low star average given on Yelp. Even people that like the sushi rated it low in my opinion. Unfortunately, Bistro's take out experience leaves much to be desired. Not only are the staff rude on the phone at times, but the quoted time for pick up is never right. Sometimes the food has been sitting there and is cold; sometimes you wait for 10-15 extra minutes for the food (like tonight). Tonight they also gave me the wrong food! We had our annual Holiday party there tonight- 26 people- 3 full hibache tables. The reservation was placed well in advance for 7:30 pm. At 10:30 pm table 3 had not even been started yet. 3 tables and only 2 chefs. We gave up on our food by that time and the whole table canceled their orders. So I can not comment on the food quality. What I can comment on is poor management and planning/ Terrible!!! read more
