Recently, my family and I were craving a little sushi & wine night in, so we ordered a handful of things from here for pick-up. It was easy to do so online and it was ready within the hour. I'm a huge spring roll gal, so we had to get some of those. These things are massive and packed with the likes of kalbi marinated beef, kani kama, rice noodles, cucumber, and cilantro. On the side is their sambal peanut sauce which I could literally drink, I love that stuff. As for the sushi order, we got an array of rolls to share. From the yellowtail maki and spicy tuna, to the california and the signature, we enjoyed them all. Big fan of the screaming tuna Mequon! The sushi is always fresh and tasty, this was the first time we did take out and everything went smoothly. Love popping into the vibrant public market building it has great energy! Checkout and pickup was easy, however we did still get charged a $6 DoorDash fee ordering pickup which seems unnecessary... not sure if that was a mistake or what but would be nice if they were more transparent with those hidden fees. Unimpressed with the service for a Monday Lunch Hour and being the only person sitting down in the whole entire restaurant. Only contact was with the Hostess/waitress. Would have been nice if the 2 young gentleman behind the counter said "hello" or something. This is a great spot for a small group or to-go sushi. My favorites are the spicy crispy tuna, and the garlic roll. I've also loved the chipotle crab rangoons, and spicy garlic edamame. Everything they make is high quality ingredients and tasty. My only complaint right now is they're doing Omakase on the weekends which stops me from being able to order food to go, ha! read more

We had an enjoyable first visit to Screaming Tuna in the Mequon Public Market. It was our first time in the market too - plenty of space, clean, bright, pleasant. I absolutely love the mural on the wall done by (former) local artist Taylor Herzog. We have been to the Screaming Tuna in downtown Milwaukee and their sushi is good, so the Mequon location matched expectations. The Spicy Tuna roll we ordered was good but nothing mind blowing. The Tonkatsu Ramen was good as well, but also nothing mind blowing. The flavors could have used a little more variety from the add-ins. The pork belly was a little overdone and dry vs tender and melt-in-your-mouth like you'd usually find. A solid bowl of ramen. The service was pleasant and helpful! We enjoyed our visit over all, and we would definitely go back if we were in the area. The public market is nice and has options for everyone. read more

Dined here a few days ago when my cousin and I did a quick day trip to Wisconsin during my Chicago vacation that's about to conclude. What was funny was I had poke on the brain when we walked into the Mequon Public Market, but changed my mind when I saw the restaurant. Save for a man and a woman at one of the booths, we were the only customers before the lunch rush. It made it easy for the nice woman at the counter -- her name's lost on me, unfortunately -- to tend to us. My cousin had the ramen while I chose the Chicken Katsu. Before our meals arrived, we helped ourselves to Tsukune and Tempura Appetizer. Both did well to set us up for lunch. The chicken meatball skewers leaned towards addicting. If it were up to me, I'd eat my weight in them. The tempura had that hot-off-the-grill freshness. It was so delicious that sauce was basically unnecessary. Drizzled with a spicy, tangy mayonnaise, the Chicken Katsu filled me up nicely. It was accompanied by a solid bed of rice, which was infused with a unique kick from the entrée and the mayo. The pieces were a solid size to where I ate the contents of the meal separately. With chopsticks, of course. And before I forget, I really like the business's name. I visited Screaming Tuna in the Mequon public market because I was in the area and craving Ramen. I went around lunch time and was able to add some shrimp into my ramen which I'm happy about because it was the best thing I ate there. I wasn't a fan of the ramen. It lacked flavor- I had the mushroom ramen as they were out of the pork belly. I would venture to guess the pork belly ramen is more tasty. I also had some spicy tuna which was good. I tried a bit of my friends appetizer and nothing really stood out to me. I will say the service was a positive as my friend forgot to order something without seafood to accommodate her allergy and they remade it right away. Stopped in for lunch today. It was my 3rd visit to this location, and my experiences have all been very good! Today I ordered the Shekhar specialty roll with tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, avocado, wasabi mayo, and sriracha, and the Pork Belly Tonkotsu Ramen. The sushi roll was delicious and provided different textures, and the ramen checked all the boxes for me when it comes to Tonkotsu, which is my go-to style. The broth was well-seasoned with a milky texture. The noodles were perfectly cooked with the right texture and held the flavor of the broth. The pork belly was tender enough to be pulled apart with the chop sticks, and they were mostly lean, so if you don't like fatty pork belly, these would be perfect for you. I would have liked some fat in the pork belly for additional flavor, but this pork belly hit the spot! My server checked on my periodically, and I enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar, next to the window. Screaming Tuna is one of the 3 or 4 businesses in the Mequon Public Market that I go back to when I'm in the area, which isn't often. They have a large enough menu for different tastes. Wonderful! The lovely ambiance here is really noticeable compared to other places in this market and they should take note. They did a fantastic job with this space. I recently visited Screaming Tuna's 'Lil Tuna' in the Mequon Public Market for the first time for dinner and what a great vibe. The hustle and bustle of the market (it is located in the Mequon Public Market), the bright colored mural and inviting sushi bar make it high energy and fun. We opted to sit at the sushi bar and started out with our favorite Screaming Tuna appetizer (they have it at both locations) the Crispy Spicy Tuna. Two orders for only 3 people because it is THAT good. If you like tuna and some heat, it is a must try. For rolls we decided to try some of our favorites from the downtown location but also some of the newer rolls that we haven't tried or aren't available downtown. We went with the Screaming Tuna Signature (always a fav), a classic Spicy Tuna, a Spicy Yellowtail, the Hokage, and the Lava Monster (my new fav!). Everything was fresh and delicious, as always with Screaming Tuna. Everything paired nicely with the Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc on the menu by glass or bottle. Screaming Tuna is truly one of my favorite spots of all time in Milwaukee. I usually tend to favor the downtown location because it is closer to home but the variety of dishes on the Mequon location's menu and the fun of the Mequon Public Market are an easy sell to make the drive to Mequon to visit more! read more

The place is a bit tight but again it's within the Mequon Market that also has plenty of upstairs space for eating if you order take out. I got sashimi appetizer and Uni maki. It's hard to find restaurants that offers uni so I'll say this is my go to place for uni. The fish was fresh and the salmon especially just melted in my mouth! The uni was delicious as always. If you haven't had uni before, I would say it's a buttery, hint of sweet but salty taste of lobster. (Best way i can explain it) The staffs are great! Again, next door to the Cantina in Mequon Public Market and better than being on the coast of California in Laguna Niguel/Orange Co. Extremely well made and designed plates, drinks and good service (but a lot of stress on staff when busy). They get 200% more business than they can handle which creates a tough wait atines, but is it worth it? Absolutely! Beautiful staff (esp. Screaming Tuna in the third ward is fantastic but I would avoid this one. My wife and I stopped here to take my daughter out to dinner. She's 5. We went to sit down and we're told the table was reserved. We didn't want to sit at the bar so we ordered ToGo. While ordering a couple came in and asked for a table. They were then seated at the "reserved" table. They clearly didn't have a reservation. I can only assume we were denied seating due to the way we looked or because we had a child. I will never be coming here again. Table was set up for six people. It was two tables pushed together. Unsure why they needed two tables set up for six for a party of two. read more

Very disappointed. Went there for an early dinner. There was one other couple there and that was it. Ordered 4 rolls and my wife ordered 2, I have a shellfish allergy and they served her shellfish rolls with with mine on one plate, clearly made together. They took it back and gave her hers. She ate. 45 min later still nothing for me I asked and they had not even started it so I had to cancel the order and leave because we were 1.5 hours in at this point and had to get somewhere. So my wife got to eat, hers was subpar but it was too much for them to make me anything. The server was nice though. The seating setup is portly set up. If you have anyone more than 2 and want a table don't go. The sushi bar setup looked ok but tables are really bad They did try to give me a $10 gift card is useless because who would ever go back? A new food hall (the Public Market) just opened in Mequon. It is great to see so many restaurants that many people are probably familiar with in Milwaukee be more accessible to the northern burbs. Screaming Tuna is one of the restaurants in the food hall. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered a menu. The menu offering is scaled down version of the Milwaukee location, but I dont think you will miss much. We ordered spicy tuna, no name, ninja pig and eye of the tiger rolls. At Public Market, you can either sit in a small area around the restaurant (maybe 7-10 two top tables) or at communal areas inside and outside with tables. We chose to sit outside, so they took our phone number to call us when it was ready. The outside communal area was clean and there was an employee that appeared to be dedicated making sure the outside area stayed that way and tables were ready for new guests. After about 10-15 minutes we got the call that our food was ready and went to pick it up. Overall, the sushi was decent and all the fish tasted fresh. I use the word decent because although the rolls were creative in composition, few of the flavors really stuck out or popped. The lemon miso sauce on the eye of the tiger roll was an exception to that comment. It was creative, interesting and delicious. It also complimented the salmon and snapper well. The spicy tuna was what you would expect in a good way. However, the no name roll was just okay and it was supposed to be flash fried, but ended up more gummy than crunchy. As for the ninja pig, you would think the kimchi would really stand out, but I struggled to taste it. Screaming Tuna continues to be one of the better sushi options in Milwaukee and its great that it is now an option to the northern burbs. If you like the sushi you had from Screaming Tuna in Milwaukee, I think you will find the sushi in Mequon to be consistent with that experience. I just don't think that the sushi restaurants in Milwaukee are at the same level as those similarly situated in say, Chicago. read more

as a HUGE fan of the original screaming tuna in Milwaukee, I was thrilled when screaming tuna made its debut at the Mequon public market. the sushi is equally as delicious as the downtown location -- some of my favorites are the garlic roll & the signature roll (while this one is a bit more expensive, has alllllll the good things ). only slight downside is that the restaurant is very small...but to be expected with real estate in the public market. it's a good place to go if you'd like to sit at the bar & watch them made sushi, to go or eat outside. read more
