They just never miss. I love the menu versatility offered as I felt there is a little something for everyone. S/o to our waiter who was so kind and attentive all evening which we really appreciated! I am in town for work, so I dined by myself and they have a cute table by a window for solo diners. I saw that it takes a while for food to come out, they were busy, no empty tables, so I ordered edamame and salmon rolls for a starter and then the duck for my entree. That might explain some of the slow service--there appeared to be just one server trying to keep up with a full room in a very small space--but the delays still made the experience feel a bit strained. The prices, though, were the biggest surprise. Most of the complex rolls were around $17, while even the simplest ones were about $9, which felt pretty outrageous for what you get. Unfortunately, something in the meal didn't agree with me. I ended up feeling sick afterward and into the next day, which overshadowed much of the visit. My partner, on the other hand, really enjoyed the non-fish options, so from a vegan or vegetarian perspective, this spot seems to deliver well. I eat here about once or twice a year, and there are usually enough good dishes to keep me coming back. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this last visit. The pad thai, which used to feature a well-balanced salty, sweet, and sour tamarind sauce, now tastes like the same generic store-bought sauce found at many Thai and Asian restaurants these days. It also lacked the signature wok hei (charred) flavor that makes this dish stand out when it's properly prepared. The salmon on crispy rice was heavily spicy mayo and light on salmon. The chicken wings were tasty for the first few bites, but by the third wing the breading had become soggy (I should have known better than to order something breaded and then sauced). The sushi, however, is still solid. The restaurant also continues to offer good service and a nice dining room, including a great patio in the summer. Overall, it felt like a step down in food quality. When restaurants rely on the same pre-made sauces, dumplings, and other staples from the same distributors, a lot of dishes start to taste the same. Once you are seated the waiters are there are fast they gave us a complimentary appetizer because we had to wake a little bit longer than expected. The menu heavily focuses on Thai and Japanese food - it was fun to get dishes in each "world". Everything here is plated beautifully and is equally appealing to the eyes as the stomach. For an appetizer, we got the Milwaukee Roll and the Black Dragon roll. The sushi rolls are nice and big! I personally liked the Milwaukee Roll more based on my preferences, but both were good. Ehhhhh..... We've been coming here pretty regularly and I've been really disappointed on my last 3-4 visits. The service is reliably good, so that's a thumbs up. The food? Whoever develops dishes here really, really loves gloopy, sugary sauces used with a heavy hand. When I'm eating sushi, I do not want my roll to to taste like sweet melted peanut butter, but that's what I got last night. It was absolutely drenched, so scraping it off didn't help much. On past visits I had similar issues - tons of sugary sauce drowning the sushi.
