Pacific Bistro is my "go to" when I need sushi. I have turned into a bit of a sushi snob over the last year or so and this place delivers. Sue and Lam, the owners, really seem to care about making you feel at home while also delivering when it comes to fresh, delicious sushi. Their willingness to customize the rolls to suit my palate has been an adventure, yet always a home run. John always remembers my order and makes me feel welcome. I visit 2 to 3 times/year and have always had solid and consistent experience: Good food, acceptable service, and overall enjoyable experience. I live in Seattle where we have top notch sushi, but it also comes with a price. Pacific Bistro is a great option for a go-to that has consistently delivered against my expectations. My only recommendation is to expect pricing in the 2.5 to 3 $$$ range depending upon what you order. read more

we live minutes away and since this is our only option for take-out thai in delafield we tend to eat here a couple of times a month. unfortunately, the food is incredibly overpriced for what you get (especially take out portions). we miss living in milwaukee where we could get much better curry for a fraction of the cost, excellent customer service, and decent portions to boot. the last time we ordered our bill totaled somewhere near $65 for 4 orders of curry and when we got it home one of the lids of the containers had snapped down the middle and flooded the entire bag with curry. while the restaurant did remake our food and gave us a $20 gift certificate for next time this is not a new issue for us. we've had pretty sub-par service when we've eaten in almost all of the times we've eaten here. we believe that they get away with this sub-par service and overpriced menu because they have no competition. so please someone... maybe thai kitchen? come out to delafield! we would love to have another option. in other news... the curries are delicious so there's that. read more

Great customer service and sushi to match...I will return

My wife and I really forward to checking out this local restaurant that has been open for several years now. We had reservations but were not able to experience the hibachi tonight so decided to eat in the main dining area. Not a huge deal. We ordered the sesame chicken and the chicken with cashews subbing the fried rice for the jasmine rice. Our server was great and our the food was delivered in just over 10 minutes. Awesome! The food looked great and we were hungry. I had a quick bite of my cashew chicken and then went straight for the fried rice only to find out it tasted like fish and I found bits of shrimp in it. I asked the waiter if the the rice had shrimp in it and he said no, maybe they didn't clean the wok out very good. He said he would check. Upon returning, he informed us that they use fish sauce in the fried rice. I said I could not eat it so he brought out jasmine rice instead. I am sure glad I did not have an allergy as this could have been a serious issue. The chicken cashew looked great but tasted mediocre. My wife sesame chicken had no real sesame taste with un-toasted sesame seeds. Maybe some sesame oil may have helped. Overall, not the dining experience we had expected. We may try Pacific Bistro one more time in the future but only the hibachi. I hope I will I will have an opportunity to give them a better rating. We shall see. read more

Been going here for over a year. Food was good service was good until tonight. 1 hour saw our waiter once. Had to go to bar to refresh drinks. When talked to manager said he would take care of it. Never did. Then waiter became rude when we asked for the bill for our drinks that we were leaving. We will never go here again. Try Asiana in Pewaukee! read more

I found the food great and service very friendly. My wife,16 year old son, and I stopped in after a shopping trip. Wish I had known of this restaurant sooner great food, Well worth the prices. Had a really disappointing lunch here today. Teriyaki Bowl had a few pieces of chicken and broccoli. All the rest was rice. I don't know where the teriyaki sauce was. Really bland and boring. My husband's pad tai was mostly noodles in an unfamiliar tangy sauce. Only good feature was our pleasant server. She was very personable. But we won't return. read more

We started going to Pacific Bistro a few months after it opened. We are very impressed with the quality of thier sushi and other cuisine, especially the appetizers and salads. Not to mention their customer service consistantly exceeds our expectations. We frequent Pacific Bistro at least once a week and look forward to going each and every time! Many of our family members and friends have joined us for dinner and have found the cuisine to be excellent and the customer service superb! For being land locked, the sushi here is top notch. This is the number one stop in my wife and I's go to when ever we get a night out. The customer service here is amazing too. The drinks are a little pricy, but there specialty drinks are well worth the larger price tag. There Vegas roll is our favorite. But we have tried them all and never been disappointed. My only complaint is they recently closed the doors on Mondays... Otherwise I would recommend to anyone. read more

I had dinner there for a friend's birthday with a group of 10 people. I was greeted exceptionally well by the manager's and the waitresses, consider how busy they were on a Saturday night, they were still able to deliver great customer service. I had ordered the Lobster roll and Flaming dragon roll. The lobster roll is one of best rolls I had in along time. I have lived in California for several years before I moved to Wisconsin, but never had a real good sushi roll like the one I had in Pacific Bistro...you can really taste the freshness. Yum! That is what I wrote on our ticket and told the hostess when we left. My husband and I are staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try this place. I am so glad we did! We were there for happy hour (until 7 pm!). We tried the walnut shrimp for our appetizer. We also had the chicken lettuce wraps and shrimp red curry. All of our food was delicious. The service was very good. My only problem is trying to figure out how we can eat there again before we leave the area. I would give this ten stars, but restaurants are based on five. read more

Here are my huge complaints: 1. I got the spicy rolls and the fish was very fishy along with the rolls being really squished and put together poorly. The tamago was on the verge of being sticky from all the sugar that they used to make it. I am very experienced with sushi and this is some of the worst I've ever had. 2. Two people at the table got the Pad Thai. From a distance, it smelled like boxed mac and cheese, and one of the people commented later that it smelled kinda weird. I didn't try it, but it really didn't look like a good Pad Thai should. 3. I was annoyed by the surprise that sodas don't come with free refills. I don't really care if a restaurant decides not to give free refills, but the staff should make that clear instead of just asking, "do you want a refill?" There are much better restaurants in this area that will provide much better food for the same price. I'm always leery of places that have sushi, hibachi, Thai and Chinese dishes on their menu. Unfortunately this restaurant did not deviate from this rule. One thing I'll say is that the service was good and fairly attentive. It was later at night and not busy at all, so I would expect no less that what we got. read more

I am surprised by the people that say this place has good sushi. My family and I are avid sushi eaters, and trust me when I say there are better options in nearby Brookfield. Pacific Bistro is closer to our house so I wish I could recommend it, but even the Chinese and hibachi options are bland and overpriced. We've had some good, some bad experiences with the service. We have gone to a lot of sushi places in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area and this is our favorite. The rolls are so fresh and not mushy. The crunch and jalapeno rolls are favorites. I prefer Asian dishes over Chinese or Japanese so I really liked the rest of the menu too. My husband's favorite sesame chicken is here too. Friends have raved about the duck. My fiancé and I chose the Pacific Bistro for a recent date night and we were not disappointed. Our server Jamie was extremely helpful, offering suggestions and insight for my first venture into sake. For dinner we had the Las Vegas roll, the Hawaiian Roll, and the Winter Roll, and all three were delicious. We ended the night with champagne and the delicious Banana Ice Cream, another recommendation by Jamie. I've been to many Hibachi restaurants in the past, this was by far the best quality of food and service. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our chef was excellent, I had scallops that were seared perfectly and I tried a piece of tenderloin from a friend and it was 'melt in your mouth.' Pacing of the courses was slow but it allowed for plenty of conversation- a true dinning experience great for catching up with family and friends. read more

We are regulars at Pacific Bistro, so keep that in mind when I tell you this place is consistently great, and has been for years. We're big fans of the Sushi...Why you ask? Its always fresh, prepared by people who care about what they do, and care about the customers. When you eat a roll for example, you can really taste all the ingredients, especially the fish! I travel for work and enjoy great food (love Sushi), so I have the opportunity to eat at some great places coast to coast. I compare other Sushi places to Pacific Bistro all the time, including restaurants in and around the Milwaukee/Waukesha area, many other places tend to be heavy on rice and sauce, or lack the freshness of Pacific Bistro. Besides Sushi, we've had just about everything on the menu...again, consistently great! Hibachi, again great! A solid staff both front and back of house. We bring our young ones 95% of the time, so its both great for date night AND family friendly. My advise for new comers...stop in, get a drink at the bar with some Sushi to start. Then get a table, order a few different items to share. You'll be back. read more

To start, my favorite restaurant for sushi is Kiku in Milwaukee. I absolutely love their Yummy Maki roll. So, when I was craving something similar while in Delafield, I ordered Pacific's Crunch roll, which uses the exact same ingredients. For using the same things, the two could not taste any different. The sushi here was incredibly small in size by comparison (for the same price), there was hardly any shrimp in the rolls, the crab offered was minuscule, and there was hardly any sauce on top. Kiku's rolls are at least three times as large and they are not stingy whatsoever on ANY ingredients. In fact, I have a difficult time finishing my rolls there. With all this in mind, I will not be ordering from Pacific Bistro again. read more

While the food is usually excellent, I had a negative experience with back to back visits, The first night I went my dinner was cold, it was sent back to be warmed and it came back still cold..very disappointed, I decided to come back three days later and try again since the previous visit they were busy and the second it was very slow, ordered my usual and once again it was cold. I am very disappointed in the quality of both meals and while I did get a reduction of the first meal I did expect the problem to be corrected by the second visit, it was not. Will not be returning in the near future. read more
