My parents have been raving about this place for years, saying how the produce is so fresh and…read moreplentiful that they always buy more than they needed. Friends, believe the hype! All of the fruits and veggies are displayed nicely with strategically placed bags. Pricing is fair and quality cannot be beat. Who can't resist a head of crisp lettuce bigger than your own head for a buck fifty?! We purchased three varieties of beans, garlic, onions, corn, zucchini, tomatoes, plums, radishes, blackberries, chives, the aforementioned lettuce, and probably a few things I can't remember, for $39, to split among the three of us. They also sell local honey, lush hanging baskets, as well as containers with fresh herbs to plant in your garden. Parking is easy. I can't wait to return!

They have a paved lot with signage, pylons, directional arrows, etc. A nursery with plants, flowers, and fresh local produce. This place was crowded! We picked up some fruit...[updated since I tried all the fruit]. Yellow Peaches - juicy, ripe, strong peach flavor. They weren't as sweet as I hoped but still pretty darn good. Yellow Nectarines - These were very juicy and ripened well. They were so good that it was sometimes hard to distinguish between the peach and nectarine. It was that good! Bartlett Pears - They were kinda hard when we bought them. A couple days later, they still seemed hard but once you bit into them, they were firm but ripe and very juicy. Ginger Gold Apple - Sweeter than the Opal. It had a good crunch to it. I am glad I saw it and tried it. Support your local business.

All of the wonderful foods that are produced. But the products and spices necessary to produce these unique dishes are not found in your typical Western-based grocery store. And often times, these products must follow strict religious sanitary rules. There must be a grocer that can carry these sundries to make your dish what you remember from home. In comes the International Food Bazzar! Located on the northern Kent border in the industrial park area, this deceptively large grocery holds products from the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and a few others representing South Asia. The store is Halaal certified, and for those looking for that regional specific product from that region, it is most likely here. Going in, I was not prepared for excitement that I felt walking when I walked in to find the spices and curries I was looking for but could easily not find in a western North America based grocery store. Even the frozen food section was a treat: frozen Naan bread, frozen Saag Paneer to take for lunch, and brands of 25 pound bags of basmahti rice. Let's not forget the busy butchery section preparing several Halal cuts for the long line of customers, all awaiting their turn to put their personal request in. It's a great relationship that is forged. As someone who wants to eat as authentically as possible without the America-substituted analogs, I have found joy in this place that can make my dishes shine the way they were intended. Visit the International Food Bazaar for your next shopping trip!

That said, after today's visit, I stand corrected. The exterior is run down and the lighting inside is depressing, but the place is clean, the staff is nice and the pricing is competitive. If this place had a robust meat selection, I think they could give Uwajimaya a run. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but the dry spices and vegetables were exactly what I was after. I didn't see cabbage or celery, but the selection was still more diverse than any other store I've visited. My singular knock was the two guys stocking the store. Both were kind and polite, but they also had radios blasting music. I'm sensitive to sound, so it made it hard for me to focus and I'm sure a couple items I was after I missed, because I couldn't stay in the area where they were stocking merch. Bulk spices tend to last, so it may be a minute before I find my way back here. That said, this will be my go to spice store.
